AT DAISY'S PLACE

Leon and Ryan dropped daisy and her mom at their place. They were so happy and suggested Leon come visit much often. daisy's sister opened the door for them, and she screamed " oh my God Leon Roha! "

Diana wore an apron. She had a pan in her hands

Their mum brushed her off. " Thats my second child, she loves cooking! " She exclaimed proudly. Diana was a pretty good cook always trying new and exotic recipes. She always made the house cozy and jovial.

But of late she had been a withdrawn soul, she rarely talked but when she did, you knew what was going on in her head. She wished she could pursue journalism studies but there was no money.

Leon listened as their mother talked. He noticed the sadness in her voice. Daisy had just handed her a cup of expresso'. " Coffee? " She asked Leon.

Leon laughed." we just drank coffee. " " whiskey? "

Leon laughed again; he thought it was good if he behaved modestly because there is no telling how they might have pictured him.

Then daisy's mother just shrugged and said, bring them my favorite wine.

Leon and Ryan looked at each other and spoke in unison. "Whiskey! "And everyone laughed.

Leon was saddened by the hurdles the family had gone through. He understood the role their father had played.

He requested to be shown a portrait of daisy's father.

Lisa pointed at the wall. And even Ryan looked up.

Ryan was shocked. Well even Leon was taken aback.

But they kept quiet. Lisa noticed a bit of discomfort and asked, " any problem! "

Ryan was quickly to answer "no, none, i just well am perplexed why the good people go first! "

Lisa felt her emotions skyrocketing but she calmed herself down.

Leon studied their house. It looked like an old cottage because it was squeezed. He remembered his grandma's house.

He loved it there when his dad took him for vacation. But his memories fazed to the lake near that cottage. His dad stuffed himself in pal shorts and carried a small fishing bag with his fishing rod on his shoulder.

It was always memorable him competing to catch fish with dad. And he always wondered how his dad could talk with a smoking pipe in his mouth.

Daisy's house had record posters of the beetles plastered on a corner wall. " i see you love em too! "

They definitely had a good taste in music. He loved the mahogany polished dinner table reminding him of grandma's place.

Diana slumped in the rock chair besides her mum and Lisa complained " you don't see we are both elephants in this room! " And everyone laughed.

Leon felt Diana worshipped him and he looked away. His heart longed for daisy. He had just brushed her arm

Once or twice that day but he longed to touch her, feel her skin, still her perfume still lingered in his nose, and she had the best blonde hair he had ever seen. But it appeared red in the end, and he wondered if it was really blonde, he thought she had dyed it

Daisy came from her bedroom wearing glasses and in a pair of jeans and a purple sleeveless t-shirt. Leon and Ryan were amazed. They were breathless.

"You mean she is a redhead! " They both exclaimed.

Today was full of surprises. They wondered why she always wore a blonde wig. "She hates her hair but she doesn't want to dye it too so she wears a wig" Lisa said.

"I am off to work" daisy said.

And Leon stood up.

"Lemme drop you off"

" No, I will make it on my own! "

Leon's heart sank. And Lisa noticed for the first time he had something for her daughter. Ryan too. Diana was upset and she coughed.

Daisy did not like the attention she was giving and quickly agreed so she could make him happier.

Ryan knew they needed time alone and so he decided to stay back and talk to Lisa.
