Does it Hurt a Lot?

In a dark corner of the street near the hospital, a man stood leaning against his car, with a cigarette in his hand. The muscles on his face looked tensed, and his eyes blank, that continued staring into the oblivion.
He had taken one more drag when his phone rang and he pulled it out with a frown, but his expression soon started changing. He stopped leaning back and in a hoarse voice, he asked, "How did the surgery go?"
"It was successful, they are now just waiting for her to wake up." The man on the other end answered.
