Chapter Twenty-two: NEW COMER?

Lesley's POV

Days had passed and I am enjoying in my new environment. The reasons? First, Harley and I already talked. I haven't noticed how fast he've grown. I can see that in some ways, he became mature and I'm happy for him. I'll thank Nana later on. Hehe.

Second, before I went here, Karina, Freya and Irithel were already friends . But since Karina's my roommate, she introduced me to the other two. And to my amazement, we clicked. I am not like them that talkative, noisy, and feminine in all aspects, but I don't know. Maybe, they wanted a new kind of friend. And it was an experience. Since I was young, I never had a friend. Only Harley and he wasn't counted.

Thirdly, Claude and Valir stays the same. They kept on pestering me since the day I came here. At first, I was very frustrated that I even stayed for whole day inside the dorm but now, I realized they are not really that serious on me. They only wanted to have fun to hurled away their boredom. It was me they spotted. A victim. Tsk. Anyway, I'm only laughing with their brotherly competition to get my attention. Maybe because I could feel they're harmless. Or maybe deep inside, I wanted to have older brothers to protect me. Well, whatever reason. Claude and Valir added color to my gloomy world.

Another, my mother was right. I should mingle with others. The pang I'm feeling right now is not as painful as the first few days. I am now ready to move on.

"Hey, daydreamer!" Someone waved a hand right in front of me.

Huh? I blinked. "Oh. Hi." It was Freya. "I didn't see you coming. Where are Irie and Karina?"

"They're still in front of the Announcement Board joining the commotion there."

"Why? What commotion?"

"There's a new upcoming aspirant hero."

"I don't get it." From the day I stepped in here, more new comer heroes follows. But no commotion happen at all. So now, "What's the fuss?"

"The new hero is a man." Freya clasped her chest dreamily. "And not just a man. He's so handsome."

I just shrugged. "Okay. Why do you left them there?"

That's then she smiled cheekily. "Zilong will surely get mad at me when he'll find out."

"That's it." I chuckled.

"Yeah. Anyway, now that I think, I guess you and the new hero will look good together." She stopped for a minute as if imagining things then nodded. "Yes. You'll make a perfect couple."

"Oh. Stop being a matchmaker, sis." I pleaded. I don't want to mess up my life and heart.. again.

"You will like him. Later this afternoon, the administrators will conduct a meeting again. You know, there's newbie. He will introduce in front like the way you do."

I didn't respond to indirectly say 'I'm not interested'. Freya just shrugged.

"Yeah. Coming! Coming!"

I grabbed my black ribbon before I went out of our room.

"Aaah! Finally!" Irithel exaggeratedly faked a cry. "We're already ten minutes late. Thanks to your looong hair. Goodness, Les."

I laughed as I tied the ribbon in the tip of my hair. "Ehehe! Sorry."

"Don't mind Iri, Sis." Freya said as we walked down the dorm's stairs.

"Yeah. If I know, she only wants to see someone who has pet monkey." Karina added.

Iri rolled her eyes. "Don't start, girls. It's the new comer I wanted to see."

"Yiee! Me too." -Freya

"Me three." -Karina

I laughed at them. "Okay. Me four."
