Get To The Airport

Detective Sho, Maria, and Adam all drove back to Detective Sho's house. They all leave the car and rush into the home. When they entered they were greeted by Sho's wife. "Honey, why are you home so early?" she asks surprised. He grabs her shoulder. "Where's Sophia?!" he worryingly asks. Sho's wife is confused by the worried look in his eyes and replies. "S-she's upstairs." Sho's wife responds. Sho runs up the stairs and calls out Sophia's name. He rushes into his daughter's room and finds her inside. She looks at him with a joyful expression before rushing over to him. "Daddy!" She says. She hugs Sho and he hugs her back before letting out a sigh of relief. He carries her and brings her downstairs. Maria and Adam are both locking the doors and bordering the windows. "What is wrong with all of you?!" Sho's wife shouts. "Did something happen?! Why are you all acting like this?!" She demands. "Relax Jess. Come with us to the living room. We'll explain everything there." Sho replies. She looks at him with confusion before looking at everyone else and sighing before entering the room.

Sho, Maria, Adam, and Jess all sit down in the living room and Sophia is sitting on the ground. They explained everything to Jess including the fact that they are all in danger. "I see." Jess says surprised by the story she heard. " It isn't safe here. I want to get you all out of here and to somewhere safe." Sho says. "But where do you think we could even go? We can't just pack up and move." Jess asks. Sho pauses and tries to figure out where to go. After thinking for a few seconds he got an idea. "Our parents!" He says. Jess was confused but Sho explained. "We could stay at our parent's place and lay low for a bit." Sho explained. "Your parents live in France and my parents live in California." Jess replies. "I'm preferring we go out to the airport tonight. I'll buy tickets and you both can stay with my parents for a bit until we settle this." Sho explains further. Jess was surprised and asked Sho. "What about you three? You aren't coming with us?!" Jess worryingly asks. Sho shakes his head before responding. "We need to figure out what is going on here Jess but right now you and Sophia are my main priority and I don't want anything to happen to you both.". Jess was shocked and rightfully upset. She didn't want to leave Sho in danger. "If you both arent coming with us then I won't leave either!" Jess yells but Sho puts his hands on her shoulder. "I'll be fine Jess. Just protect Sophia. I don't want anything to happen to her." Jess starts crying but nods before Sho kisses her forehead and hugs her.

"Sorry to ruin your little moment but we need to prepare." Maria intervenes. "I bought both of your tickets online. Your flight is at midnight." Maria continues. Sho lets go of Jess and replies. "Alright, how far is the airport?" Sho asks. "Closest one is about an hour drive from here." Maria replies. Sho gets up and picks up Sophia before turning to face Jess. "Pack your things, honey. We're leaving soon." Sho says. Jess nods slightly and all three of them head upstairs to pack Jess and Sophia's things. "Y'know Maria. I dunno why, but I have a bad feeling about leaving Sho's wife and daughter on the plane." Adam says. Maria confused asks back. "Why do you say so?"

Adam stares at the staircase for a brief moment before turning to Maria. "Just a gut feeling." he says. Maria stares at him in silence before sighing and walking to the kitchen to grab a drink. They waited until 10 p.m. before Sho and Adam pulls out their guns and began scouting the area. They made sure no one was around before rushing Jess and Sophia into the car with Sho and Maria and Adam are using Jess's car. They turned on the engine before heading to the airport. "What are we going to do when we get to France?" Jess asks. "I've informed Adam to let my father know you're coming to visit them." Sho explains. Jess lays her head back on the seat and there was an uncomfortable silence between them but Jess broke the silence. "Will you be okay?" she asks again with a sad and worried tone. Sho pauses and looks at her through the front view mirror before looking back to the road. "I don't know." he replies. She lets out a tear before hugging Sophia who is now sleeping. Sho looks back to the front view mirror and sees Maria and Adam behind them. He feels a slight comfort knowing they're there and he continues the drive while being wary of every car in his surroundings.

Half an hour through the drive it's been very quiet. There hasn't been much of an incident and they are currently driving on a highway however Sho notices that there for whatever reason are no cars on the highway at all. This struck him as suspicious, but he can't do anything about it, so he continues driving while keeping wary of his surroundings. He notices a car that seems to have broken down on the side of the road and two people were standing there waving at him signaling to stop but he refused to and sped up and drove past them and Maria and Adam followed suit. Sho gets a call from Maria to which he answers. "Hey Sho. I'm feeling a bit nervous." Maria says. "Why's that?" Sho asks. "It's only 10:35 yet the roads are suspiciously empty. Usually, these roads would be filled with cars. It isn't normal for the roads to be this empty at this time." Maria says. Sho looks around his surroundings. "I've noticed. I don't think we're supposed to be here Maria." Sho replies. Suddenly Sho notices some lights up ahead. It looked like the lights from a vehicle. "What the hell?!" Sho says. "What is it?! What do you see?!" Maria asks. "It looks like 2 vehicles are coming straight for us!!" Sho shouts.

Maria sped up her car and is now driving in front of Sho's car as protection. The cars in the distance are getting closer and closer when suddenly they hear gunshots and one of the side view mirrors got a large hole through it. "They're shooting at us! Get down!" Maria screams on the phone. She sped up her car, even more, to get closer to them and when they were about to crash in Maria spun the car so the side so the damage would be minimal and it surprised those in the car and one of them crashed into the side of the highway. "Step on it Sho!" Maria yells on the phone. "I'm on it!" Sho replies. He steps on the gas and they both start driving away. "Who was that Sho?! Jess asked worried about their safety. "I don't know but we need to move quickly." Sho nervously replies. The gunshots woke up Sophia. "Daddy what's happening?" She confused asks. "Don't worry Sophia. Everything will be fine." Sho reassures. He speeds up again to catch up with Maria and Adam's car. While they were driving Sho was suddenly shot in the hand from the back. He screams in pain and turns to see the second car following behind them. "Maria their behind us!" Sho screams on the phone. "Motherfucker's cant leave us alone now can they?!" Maria says to herself. She slows down and got behind their car. "Adam now!" she yells. Adam rolls down the window and began shooting at them but missed. They fired back at Adam and shot him in the shoulder. He screams in pain but pushes through it and fires at their tires making them spin out of control and stop. They both sped up and drove away from them. "You both okay?" Maria asks. "I'm good just a shot in the shoulder. Nothing too bad." Adam replies. "Just my hand but that aside we're safe." Sho replies also. Maria gives a sigh of relief and gave Adam some bandages and he patched himself up. They drove the rest of the way and after another half hour, they arrived at the airport. They all got out of their car and Maria hands Sho some extra bandages. "Patch up your hand." Maria says. Sho thanks her and patches his hand Adam wore a jacket to hide the blood before they all walk into the airport.

They all walked past the large crowd and found somewhere to sit. "We have about an hour left before your flight." Maria says. "I'll grab everyone something to eat. It's been a long day." Adam says before walking away. Everyone sits together with a heavy uneasy feeling. Jess is worried for Sho and she turns to look at him seeing on his face an uneasy and nervous look while he scans every corner of the room. Her worry grew after seeing Sho's face. She pulls Sophia closer to her and hoped everyone would be okay. After 10 minutes Adam returns with some sandwiches and coffee for everyone. "It isn't much but it should last until your on that flight." Adam says. Jess thanks Adam and Sho does the same. He smiles and starts handing everyone the food and drinks. The last one he hands to Sophia. "Here you go, sweetheart. Make sure you finish it." Adam says. "Thank you Mr. Adam!" she joyfully replies. Everyone looks at Sophia's wonderful smile and all began smiling themselves.

"Let's wait near the gate. That way you can quickly get on the flight and leave as soon as possible." Sho suggests. Maria agrees and the rest soon does the same. They pack their things and leaves for their designated gate. They waited for another 55 minutes when the plane was finally ready to take off. They all waited in line getting ready to leave. They finally reached the front and hands in their tickets. They say their goodbyes and Jess and Sophia walk into Gate 5A to get to the plane. Adam grabs Sho's shoulder. "We should move. We don't want to be ambushed seeing as we're sitting ducks out here." Adam says. Sho and Maria both nod. "Let's move." Sho says. They turn and began walking towards the exit when they suddenly heard the speakers turn on and a voice came online. "Calling everyone whose flight is to France. Please go to Gate 5A otherwise you'll miss an explosive ride." the voice says with a slightly mocking tone. Sho, Maria, and Adam all realize that it's the voice of Joker. Sho looks to Gate 5A and realized Jess and Sophia were in danger. "Jess!! Sophia!!" Sho yells before running towards the gate. He reaches the gate and tries to run in but was stopped by security. "Sir I'm going to need to see that ticket." the guard says. "Stop the plane! My family's in danger!" Sho yells out struggling to get past the guard. Everyone is staring at him in confusion. "Sir, calm down. No one's in danger." the guard tries to reassure him. "You don't understand! he's going to kill them! Let me through!" Sho demands. "Who is?" the guard annoyed asks. "Enough! Sho calm down!" Adam yells. He walks up to the guard and shows his badge. "He and this woman here is a detective. We have reason to believe that this plane has a rigged explosive. I request you stop any and all flights leaving this airport immediately." Adam explains. "The guard looks at Sho and Maria with suspicion before calling for backup and requesting a delay with all flights. "You three. Come with me." the guard says. All three of them follow the guard to a room to which he shuts the door behind them. "Sit down. If what you said is true I'm calling in the FBI and a bomb disposal team." the guard says. They all sit down and the guard gets on a call. After 10 minutes he finishes his call and he looks at those three before asking. "So, how do you know there is an explosive in the aircraft?" the guard asks suspicious of them. Sho brings his chair closer to the guard. "Let me ask you, That man on the speaker. Did you recognize him at all?" Sho asks. "Why don't you answer my question first before I answer yours?" the guard replies. Sho got angry but calms himself before responding. "I will answer your question but in order for me to do that, you must answer mine. Did you recognize the man on the speaker?" Sho asks with a more stern tone. The guard looks at Sho with an annoyed look before taking a sip from a cup. "Never heard his voice before. I assumed he must be a new guy." the guard responds. Sho quickly responds back."Exactly. We are under a classified case into the man who goes by the name Joker" Sho explains. The guard looks at Sho with a confused look. "You mean the man on the tv that showed all those dead kids?!" the guard asks. "Yes, him. The man who came on the speaker was Joker. He has gotten himself access to the speakers and was speaking through it. For all, we know he could be in this building right now." Sho explains further. The guard clearly didn't believe him but has gotten interested in hearing Sho's insane explanation. "Ok then crazy Joker guy right? might be in the building all that's cool but how did you get the idea of the explosives?" the guard pushes further. "If you listened to the speaker he said it was going to be an 'explosive ride'. We assumed that he must've rigged the plane to blow." Adam states. The guard looked at Adam with an annoyed look. "You're telling me you made me call the FBI and delayed flights all for a damn hunch you people got?!" the guard yells. Adam brings his face closer to the guard. "Would you like to bet on our hunch?" Adam asks. "Adam sit down." Maria demands. Adam sits back down and the guard looks at them before saying. "Your all crazy man."

another 10 minutes went by, and the FBI and Sophia and Jess walked into the room. Sho stands with joy and relief to see them okay. "Jess! Sophia!" Sho yells out. He hugs them both before letting them down. "What's going on? Why was our flight canceled?" Jess asks. "Your crazy husband was saying there's a bomb on your plane." the guard responds with a tired look on his face. Jess looks at the guard surprised by what she heard. "Are you serious?" Jess asks. "Believe me, ma'am I wish I was making this shit up but your husband believes it so." the guard replies. Suddenly the door opens and another FBI agent walks in. "All of you. Come with me." the agent says. They all stood up and walked out with the other FBI agents following behind them. The guard started questioning Sho and the others while they were walking and they walked outside onto the roads of the planes. They walked over to the plane Jess and Sophia were in. A man walks over to the FBI agent. "Did you find any explosives?" the agent asks. "No sir, It appears the plane is clear." the man responds. The agent sighs and turns back to Sho. "Well where are the explosives you mentioned?" the agent asks but before Sho got a chance to reply they heard an explosion and turned to see that the wings of the plane were blown off alongside some parts of the tail of the plane. A bomb disposal engineer was still inside the plane and his body fell right in front of them and his head rolled straight to Sho's feet. Jess covered Sophia's eyes and Everyone was shocked that they were telling the truth.

They were all taken into custody by the FBI. After a long interrogation by the FBI Maria, Sho, and his family were released while Adam stayed back to give a detailed description of all the information they have on both the Joker and the bombing of the plane. "Where do we go now?" Jess asks. Sho takes a moment before replying. "Our only other option is your family's house in California." Sho responds. "Well we're gonna have to get a cab to the airport cause our cars are still there." Maria says. "Not to mention we need to get Adam as well. He's in danger since he's alone but I think he'll be fine seeing as those are FBI agents." Sho adds. There is a heavy tension between everyone but no one mentioned it. Maria turns around and looks around the road for a cab. "We'll get him when we get the car. It's our only option to get to California quickly." Maria says. She spots a cab and signaled it to stop too which it did. She signals to everyone to get in and they all follow her into the cab. "Excuse me. Head to John F. Kennedy International Airport please." she asks. The cab driver nods and they all walk inside and the cab driver starts driving.
