Chapter 18 : Secret passages and savage remarks.

I didn't have to think too much about what to wear. There was a black leather jumpsuit, " Snow White had some interesting hobbies ". There were matching heels and a caped hoodie to match.

" But how am I supposed to leave the palace unnoticed "? Then I remembered that this was in fact a palace which meant that there had to secret passage ways and tunnels. And since I'm the princess and this is my room, there should be one for emergencies.

" If I were a secret passage, where's the last place anyone would look for me "? I read a lot of comics and trying to guess who is gonna betray my favorite character or who they really like has made me a master detective.

Nothing to brag about but I've gotten really good at it. I searched along the walls but there were no loose bricks. I scanned the room calmly for anything that might lead me out of here.

And then the bed came to mind, " The most obvious passage would be under the bed but that would be dumb ". I sighed as I looked up at the ceiling. There was this large chandelier just directly opposite the bed.

I looked at the shadow it cast on the floor and there seemed to be an extra crystal missing in the shadow but it was obviously there. Curiously, I jumped up and managed to get hold of the crystal yanking it with me.

As I held on to the crystal, I realized what I was doing was extremely dangerous [ What if the thing falls on me? How stupid am I? ] But it worked all the same and a hidden compartment within the bed rest opened.

There was a small black button shown in it and I gave myself a high five before scrambling to the bed and pressing the button. I could hear a slight rumble and a part of the brick wall all the way by the door opened.

" This is tedious ", so they'd need at least three guards for an escape. One to pull the cord, the other to press the button while the last escorted the princess out of the palace. The other two would probably stay behind and stall for time.

I'd placed my legs on the floor and was surprised when something held my leg. I kicked my leg high, resisting the urge to scream as I got up, " There are monster's under my bed "!

But Tyler only laughed as he got up, " You still have such a wild imagination ". Calming my racing heart, I glared at him as I tried to breathe normally " What was that for? You scared me ".

Tyler simply shrugged and I couldn't be bothered with him as I walked towards the secret passage, " I'll deal with you later ". I didn't get far when he held me back, " I can't let you go ".

I frowned, swatting his hand away " You can't keep me here if I don't want to and I have important business ". He smiled and honestly it was almost so charming I didn't want to punch it off, " Why would I stop you? Let me come with you ".

I blinked a few times, " What, really "? He nodded, rubbing his neck " Of course. You can barely take care of yourself and you're always getting in to trouble. Honestly, you shouldn't be left unsupervised ". I went on all fours [ He's got such a foul mouth ] and looked up at him " That was savage ".
