He politely said goodbye and he said that he'll spread the news inside the headquarters.

We're nine in the headquarters. Three detectives, three attorneys, one judge, one deputy, and one chief. There are others who are not so high in their position but play a big role. Just like the bodyguards outside, low-ranking police officers, and other members to keep our headquarters orderly and secure.

Chief Nehemiah Roman Hermenez, also known as Nero, built the whole headquarters and then he started recruiting known and popular detectives, attorneys, judge, and deputy.

It is already eleven o'clock in the evening so we decided to stay at the headquarters. Since tomorrow we need to get up early to prepare for the qeuries to Maxen and the one who sued her.

I will go with Jin back to the headquarters so I don't have to commute.

"I feel sorry for Maxen," I said while sitting in a shotgun seat.

"Yeah, but we don't know or we're not sure if she's really the one who did it." Jin answered.

"If it is her, maybe someone ordered her to do that." I said to Jin. I mean some of their neighbours said that they saw a tall shadow. Maxen's too small at her age.

"We're not sure, let them handle it." Jin said.

"Why? Aren't we suppose to help them? We are detectives, we should help them to find the real murderer." I said to her while her eyes are focused on the road.

"No, we find clues. In this kind of situation, they will decide if she is guilty or not. They will only ask for each other's statement before the trial, and there is a strong evidence that Maxen did it." she said that made my brows furrowed.

"So you really believed that Maxen did it?" I asked her.

"Yes? No? I don't know, maybe—you know let's just take a rest and we'll find it out tomorrow." Jin said. I didn't say anything more and after I got off I went straight to the elevator.

After entering my office, I locked the door and lay down on the sofa.

Sleepiness engulfed me because of the tiredness I felt.

I woke up from my alarm and stood up immediately to take a bath. Every offices that we own they built a comfort room for us to take a bath in here when we spent our night in our headquarters. It may sound weird but they also put a mini built-in cabinet for us to change if we want to.

I went to the cafeteria to get my morning coffee. I didn't bother to eat my breakfast since I really wanted to hear everything. I need to go there early because they might occupied the whole place—and they will make the late ones out.

I found Bright and Jin already having breakfast. They're both laughing while eating bread.

"Hmm, I felt like there's something going on between you two." I looked at them strangely. Jin immediately moved away and her face was sad.

"Excuse me?! You have that guts to get disgusted at my handsome face?!" Bright shouted in irritation.

Bright sounds like he's gay but his voice is baritone. It's just too funny because it's sarcastic.

"What? Why?! I might say who you want." Jin threatened Bright causing Bright's face to turn red.

"Hey! I'm like everyone else! Why don't I know who Bright likes?" I complain to them.

"What? Shall I tell her?" Jin asked with a smile and Bright immediately shook his head several times.

"Is it inside the headquarters?" I asked him.

"No," her refused.

"Maybe it's really Jin, you're just denying it." I said and gave him a slightly annoyed face.

"Tsh, disgusting." he said and walked away again.

"As if I'm going to like you, you're gay." Jin said making Bright's face look bad.

"Me?! Gay?! I like a girl and then I am gay?!" Bright shouted in annoyance.

"Alright, make it louder." I said sarcastically because he had been shouting.

We finished our breakfast before we went to the room where Maxen and her aunt and uncle waiting for us to start the happening.

Chief Hermenez will lead them to everything.

As we went inside the room we saw a square table. Maxen's in the other side while her uncle and aunt are in front of her. Chief Hermenez is in the middle of the corner while looking at the both of them.

Attorney Eiwel Mateo Degavo is with Maxen's aunt and uncle's side. Attorney Primo Louise David is with Maxen's side. We decided that we will get Attorney David for Maxen. Apparently, Jin and I are paying for Maxen's bill.

Bright, Jin, Echo, and I are sitting in a one large couch while we are listening from their back.

It hasn't started yet but I can see how devastated Maxen's face are.

The room filled with silence while no one bothered to talk.

Chief Hermenez cleared his throat and started asking questions about the incident.

We are not in a trial, yet, the atmosphere's heavy.

"We know you two are family but how do you think Maxen is to blame for the death of her parents?" asked Chief Hermenez.

We won't ask them all, we won't squeeze their brains either. We are here to hear their statements, and we will see if we can get Maxen's aunt to withdraw the case.

Because we were not given enough time to investigate more thoroughly. So here we are and trying things that can still be brought up in the conversation.

"I don't want to do this but my conscience can't handle it every time I see this child alive and her parents are dead because of what she did!" her aunt shouted.

"Ma'am calm down—" Chief Hermenez didn't finish what he was going to say when the woman suddenly spoke.

"That girl is a demon!"
