chapter 54

Lisa p.o.v

As the morning sun appeared, I haven't slept most of the time as I was busy wondering what happened between them that they can't even say anything to each other other than glaring.

I know that I have known some things It still hasn't processed in my mind and heart as well.

I just wish I could talk to someone about it. Speaking of which I just remember that I haven't talked to veronica since I came here so maybe she could be the one to help me.

After that I closed my eyes and sleep took over me. By the time I woke up the sun was up and shining through the window.

I sat up and stretched my hands as I looked around the room only to see the couch empty. I guessed he woke up and left me here sleeping.

As I stood up I heard the bathroom door opening someone coming out it was toby, he didn't notice I was already awake as his back was facing me and he was busy drying his hair with towel as he kept looking for something from the wardrobe and he was half naked with a towel dangerously hanging around his waist.

''Like what you see?''he asked teasingly.

I wasn't expecting him to see me as I stared at his body as my heart skipped a beat and didn't realise that he was looking at me through the mirror.

''I...I was...wasn't looking at your body?'' I stuttered trying hard to defend myself which made me look miserable s he chuckle at me.

''I don't mind that though after all we're together right?'' he asked as he walked towards me and I walked backwards only to feel my back on the wall.

I tried to escape but his arms blocked me and I gulped as he came closer to my face.Before he could kiss me I covered my mouth and shook my head to stop him but it was useless to try to stop him but it was all in vain he still managed to kiss me anyway.

I was shocked by his quick reflex that I couldn't stop wondering how he did it.As shocked as I was he kissed me and I kissed him back even though I was against it because I haven't brushed my teeth.

''You know I haven't brushed my teeth and you still kissed me''I said as I covered my mouth after he released me.

''I know that and you also kissed me back knowing that and I don't mind it at all." He said as he smirked at me.

I stood there like a statue not moving a muscle until he snapped his fingers in front of me looking confused.

"Shouldn't you be in the bathroom now and the water is getting cold so hurry" he said as he pointed at the bathroom door.

I nodded and quickly stormed to the bathroom and closed the door. I learned on the door and I touched my chest as my heart raced and tried to calm down.

I couldn't stop myself from smiling as I touched my lips. Even though we made out multiple times the kiss still felt like it was my first and my heart beat increased.

I knew he might be hearing it from the other side so in order to stop it I turned the water sink on and washed my face with the cold water and held my breath for a minute.

Soon my heart calm down and I quickly brushed my teeth and went to the other side of the bathroom and saw that he had prepared a bathtub for me. I took off my clothes and went in.

The water was warm and I didn't want to leave yet so I took my time and laid back for a few minutes before i got out.

By the time i went back to the room, the sun was out and the curtains were opened. I went to search for my bag since I didn't unpack it I assumed it was under the bed.

I bend down to look for it but it wasn't there so I looked around hoping to find it in the closet which by the way I forgot I had no idea where to find it because there was no way to be able to differentiate a wall and a hidden closet.

At the end I took the a baggy shirt and went to have breakfast. As I walked downstairs I assumed I would find toby's nanny alone but I was so wrong.

I saw toby with an apron as he was busy chopping something while his back was facing me.

I quietly tiptoe towards the stool bar and sat down watching him as he prepares an omelette.

"Well, well, well I didn't expect to see you cook I thought it would be your nanny " I said as I looked around.

"Well I do cook it's just I was busy lately and for my nanny I gave her a day off" he said as he put the brefast on my plate.

I was surprised as he had organised it like a chef. I took a bite of the omelette and I was stunned by its taste.

"Wow that's amazing, I don't think I would get enough of it" I said as I took another bite.

Before I could take the last bite I was about to put it in my mouth but he he bite the other side which was quite unexpected.

I felt a butterfly in my stomach,I quickly grabbed the mango juice and drank it fast as if I was in a competition and I didn't miss a smirk on his face.

I was sure he was enjoying this, to change the topic I remembered how he suggested I should talk to veronica even though I was scared to know what would happen next.

After breakfast we went to the roof where his private jet was waiting, I still haven't gotten used to this luxurious life.

I grew up in an orphanage and though am living my dream I still haven't lived like an ordinary person not that I am.

We both entered the jet and greeted both the pilot and seamstress and sat down.

Toby was constantly looking at me making sure I was doing fine. By the time we went back to Miami it was almost dark.

As we got out of the jet I noticed two cars waiting for us, I recognised them it was both veronica and Jason's.

As we walked towards them, I looked at veronica and she smiled as she waved her hand to us.

"Hey baby, how are you feeling now?" She asked as she hugged me so tightly.

"Am fine and anxious, I don't know what to say" I said as I looked at toby.

To be honest I don't know what am going to do with everything that is happening to me.

"Everything is going to be fine I know what's bothering you and I'll be there for you no matter what" she assured me and we walked to her car.

We both walked to her car, I looked back at toby who hasn't left. As I opened the door, I waved at him before I entered and veronica started the car.

As we drove away, I looked at him through the rearview and he still didn't move.

"You look tired Why don't you take a nap,I'll wake you once we get home" veronica said as she tapped my leg.

I nodded and closed my eyes as I put my head back. I couldn't stop thinking about what happened while I was in new York.

Mike appearing out of nowhere, toby's explanation about how things were before there friendship got ruined and now my fantasy world becomes real and am between them.

Even if I closed my eyes hoping none of this to be real but it seems like am getting deeper into it and am not able to run away from it no matter how much I want to.

"You can't sleep can you?" Veronica asked as she noticed I haven't slept.

"Yeah am just trying to process about everything that happened and am surprised to hear that vampires and werewolves once lived together in peace unfortunately something happened and caused them to drift apart " I said as I looked at veronica.

By then we have reached home and she stopped the car as we entered the garage.

"I know what toby told you and whatever he said is true" she said as she looked at me in the eyes.

"Then how come you left me at the orphanage where I lived my life in misery?" I asked as eyes teared up.

"I did it to protect you and I made sure you were in great hands" she said as she held my face gently.

"Is this why you sent me ticket to come and see you knowing i was alive and didn't bother to visit me even once?" I asked her.

She didn't answer and she looked away as though she was hiding something from me.

"Veronica are you alright?" I asked as I have never seen her look upset.

"I know you're hurt and probably think that I didn't care about you but I know I did it for your own safety lisa" she said as she wiped her tears.

I wasn't expecting her to be worried because she always looked fearless and strong and less emotional but she looked different with me now.

I don't know what's going to happen but am willing to go any extent to figure it out by all means.

I know that she did it to protect me and now it's time to pay her back.

To be honest I always felt like I never mattered to anyone without knowing that she was always closer to me than I thought.

I might have grew up in an orphanage but I never got mistreated but I always kept distance from other people and focused on my studies and finally managed to leave that place.

Little did I know I was being sent here to search for someone who already knew everything about me but didn't want me to know.

And am glad to know that she did this to make sure that I didn't feel sorry for myself either.

Now more than ever I'll do whatever it takes to accept my life the way it is.

Veronica snapped her fingers at me that I didn't notice that she had opened the door for me.

"Don't worry too much things will be fine all you need to do is to let it guide you no matter what " she said as she pulled me for a hug and I did the same.

We walked inside together and she asked me to take a shower before we had dinner.

I quickly went to my room and walked inside, as I was changing my clothes my phone rang and I looked at the Id caller and I couldn't believe who it was from.

What the hell does she want now?.......
