Obsessed

With all the lessons finished for the day, the bell was rang to signify the end of lectures and also the end of school for the day.

Kiran, Caleb and Mikey all walked out of school together, their houses was not too far from each other neither was it close, it was just some miles away from each other.

After closing, most students would be waiting for their drivers or parents to come pick them up, while some very few unprivileged students who got into the school through scholarship or such would take public transport to their homes.

Brilliance High school was know as one of the most prestigious school in the whole country, therefore, for someone to attend that school, means their parents were filthy rich.

As all the students walked out of the school, they could all see a luxurious car with close to four bodyguard surrounding it, on seeing it most students already know who they were waiting for.

The moment Lydia walked up to the car, the door was quickly opened by one of the guards for her to enter without wasting time, before driving off.

"Aren't you kind of curious about her identity, she always comes to school with bodyguards around her and always leave same way" said Mikey.

"Why are you so curious about everything z haven't you hear this saying, that curiosity kills the cat?" asked Caleb.

"Well I have heard of it and beside I'm not a cat, bug difference, Kiran what do you say about it?" asked Mikey.

"The only thing I can formulate right now, it's that she came from a very wealthy family which have a lot of enemies, that's why the protection around her is very tight, just don't put your nose into her business if you don't want to join the enemies count" said Kiran.

"Well goodbye guys, my ride is here" said Caleb as he walked up to the car waiting for him.

"See you tomorrow" said both Mikey and Kiran.

"Mikey looks like you are on your own now, my mom is here, bye" said Kiran as he walked up to meet his mom.

"Yeah see you tomorrow" said Mikey, just as he finished waving Kiran off, he could see his own personal driver now waiting for him.

"Good afternoon mom, how are you doing and how is work?" greeted Kiran as he entered the car.

"Afternoon sweetie, I'm doing good and work is fine, how was school today?" asked Jenny.

"Well it was good" replied Kiran.

"Hope you didn't lose to that girl again?" asked Jenny jokingly.

"Something like that actually happened" replied Kiran.

"Really, so who won and what was it about?" asked Jenny.

"Well our maths teacher gave us a little competition, it was boys against girls. so me and her was the final competitor and she won with a three seconds difference in time" said Kiran.

"You did good sweetie, the fact that you got the answer correctly was better than you failing it, you did great" said Jenny while ruffling his hair.

"Come on mom, I'm no longer a kid, I would be in the university in less than a year time" said Kiran.

"I know sweetie, but I can't just help it, you are just too cute" replied Jenny.

"I can't wait to go and join Layla in the university" said Kiran.

"You still haven't changed your mind on going to the same university as your sister?" asked his mom.

"No mom, why would I change my mind, she is going to one of the best university in the world, so why will I change my mind?" asked Kiran.

"It's just that sometimes, some siblings like going to different university, so they won't be control or watched, it's good to see that you love your sister that much, for wanting to go to the same university with her" said Jenny while riding out of the school.

On getting home, Jenny quickly took her bath, before going to the kitchen so as to start preparing lunch that they will eat when her husband comes back from work in the evening.

After taking his bath, Kiran didn't waste anytime in carrying his textbook so as to study, the fact that lost to Lydia was getting to him.

Kiran, dad's home" said Jenny, but she didn't receive any reply, "Welcome back sweetie, how was work today?" asked Jenny as she took the hand bag from her husband.

"It was good sweetie, where is Kiran?" asked Hendrick.

"Probably in his room studying, I'm sure the fact that he lost to that new girl today is getting to him" replied Jenny.

"It's good to compete with one another, but he shouldn't be too obsessed with it" said Hendrick.

"You do know the type of person he is, right?, he doesn't like losing" said Jenny.

"I know, but he shouldn't be obsessed with winning all the time" replied Hendrick.

"Why don't you go have a word with him" said Jenny.

"I will" replied Hendrick as he walked up the stairs to go meet Kiran.

The door to Kiran room was opened when he got there, he could see Kiran completely lost in the book he was reading. Even though he was considered a book worm, his room was always neat, there was no sign of dirt or paper on the floor.

Hendrick knocked on the door to make his presence know to Kiran who was completely unaware of him.

"Good evening dad, how was work today?" asked Kiran.

"Work was okay dear, how was school today?" asked Hendrick.

"It was good dad" replied Kiran.

"I heard from your mom that you lost against that girl in a maths quiz" said Hendrick.

"Yes dad, I lost to her by three seconds late, I can't believe I have lost to her twice now" replied Kiran.

"Son, you do know that life isn't always about winning right?" asked Hendrick.

"I know dad, but losing isn't really an option for me right now" said Kiran.
