Meal etiquette

After Karin words which causes both of them to laugh, the rest of the journey was mostly quiet, they just exchange some few words with each other. After about an hour of driving, the journey finally come to an end.

The guards at the gate quickly open the gate the moment they saw who it was, she drove inside casually without any formalities.

As she packed the car and walked out with Karin, she could see her mom already waiting for her at the bottom of the stairs.

"Grandma" shouted Karin as he ran with speed so as to give her a hug.

"Karin you have grown so much, you are now a big boy" said his grandma as she hugged him back with the same affection.

"Mom how have you been?" asked Jenny.

"As you can see, I'm doing good, there isn't anything your mom can't handle" said the woman.

"It's good to see that you are doing well even with all the stress, I do really have to go to work right now, there has been a slight change of plan, Karin said he do want to stay with you for the week he has been suspended" said Jenny.

"Okay dear, you don't have to worry about it, I'm more than happy that he wishes to stay with me" said her mom.

"Thanks Mom, I will be on my way now, and please remember he is allergic to chocolate okay?, so don't give him any, because I know you are fond of spoiling him with anything he wants" said Jenny.

"He's in great hands, you don't have to worry about anything" said her mom.

"Goodbye Karin, make sure you take care of yourself and look after your grandma, okay?" said Jenny.

"Of course I will mom" replied Karin.

"Good, love you" said Jenny.

"Love you too mom" responded Karin.

As Jenny drove off, Karin and his grandma wave at her before turning to go inside.

"So how old are you now Karin?" asked his grandma.

"I'm twelve years old grandma" replied Karin.

"Wow, you have grown so much in such a short period of time, the last time I saw you, you were like a baby" said his grandma while cupping her hands to form a size of a baby.

"No grandma, I was way bigger than that when I last came here" replied Karin.

"Really?" asked his grandma while laughing.

"Yes grandma" responded Karin.

"Okay if you say so, have you eaten?" asked grandma Patricia.

"Yes grandma, I ate before coming" replied Karin.

"Okay sweetie, grandma has to go do something right now, you can choose to busy yourself with some books over there or you can go watch some movies on the TV, or you can even explore the building if you feel like, do whatever suit you, I will soon be back so we can catch up and play together" said Patricia while walking to attend to her urgent issue.

Karin walked over to the books his grandma just pointed out, he opened one and started reading it, he didn't even know when he became so lost in the book, of hay a whole hour has pass and he was still reading.

He never really have a lot of friends in school, most people always considered him as a book work and didn't want to associate themselves with him, when reading books he sometimes get so lost in it that he won't even know what was happening around him.

After about three hours of reading, he was interrupted by his grandma who walked to him.

"I can see you are a very bright child, you pick the book over movies and adventure, which is kind of strange for kids your age, most kids would usually pick watching movies over books" said Patricia.

"Well everybody are not the same, I like reading books because it contains a lot of important benefits than that of movie" said Karin.

"True, come on let's go and have our lunch, I told the maid to make your favorite" said his grandma.

"This book is so interesting grandma, you don't mind me taking it with me, so I can give it to Layla when I go back home, right?" asked Karin.

"You can have it sweetie" said his grandma, "Now let's go and eat, guess what I told the maid to prepare for you?"

"Well I'm not very good at guessing, but let me give it a try, grilled meat and potatoes chips?" asked Karin.

"Well they are definitely among the meals, so I can say you guess correctly, is that still one of your favorite meal?" asked grandma Patricia.

"it still is, how do you know it's among my favorite foods?" asked Karin.

"Of course I would know that, why wouldn't I know your favorite foods, I'm your grandma" said Patricia as she draw the chair to the dinning table for Karin to sit down.

"Thanks grandma" said Karin while sitting on the chair.

"You're welcome sweetie, come on let's start eating" replied Patricia.

"Grandma I just remembered something, mom didn't bring any clothes with me, we kind of didn't plan about me staying for a week, so I totally forgot about that" said Karin.

"Don't worry about that sweetie, I will send someone to go buy you some well fitted clothes" said his grandma.

"Okay grandma" replied Karin.

They continue eating their food in complete silence, the slight contact of the cutlery hitting the plate was the only sound in the dinning table.

Patricia was surprised by how well Karin was able to hold the cutlery professional without difficulty, she clearly know that her daughter much have taught him a great lesson on eating etiquette, but for him to have master it at this age was another thing.

"How was the food Karin, hope you like it?" asked his grandma.

"It was good grandma, I really enjoyed it" replied Karin while using the tissue napkin to wipe his mouth.

"It's good to know that you enjoyed it" said his grandma.
