PROLOGUE

gunshot. The sound echoed through the room knowing as it would hit me, I heard my brother scream as he ran closer to me. I saw the bullet closer as I closed my eyes waiting for it to strike me but nothing. Nothing hit me up until I heard a loud thump causing me to look down.

No. No. This can't happen. None of this was meant to happen. If I hadn't attempt to steal something of his then he wouldn't get shot. This can't be real.

I tried to apply pressure to his wound using a strip of my clothing of which I tore from my shirt. I heard the guy who shot him run as I let him escape too focused at him.

I saw his face becoming paler by the second. His once rosy cheeks now turned into this chalky white color as the light in his light blue eyes faded only to be seen in memories. My hands drenched in this scarlet colored liquid coming from his wound.

"Lia..." He spoke with barely a voice coming out of his mouth as he took his hand and placed it on my cheek while he continued to cough out blood

"Stop talking. I mean it." I replied as sternly as I can trying to save as much of his energy and blood left in him knowing that he could make it

"I don't say this much but I love you sprezzatura" He replied still having his personality causing me to smile despite the situation

"Why did you do it?" I asked as he tried to wipe off the tear coming from my eyes with the little amount of energy he had left.

"I told you I'd watch your six, there's no way that I would let you die now Laurent" He said still trying to forge his signature smirk despite him being weak.

His hand thumped as it made its way out of its grasp on my cheek as he slowly shut his eyes as his skin became paler by the millisecond. I felt a tear drop fall from eyes becoming a waterfall by the second as I stared at his body, lifeless, chalky, and pale. Every inch of life in him was gone.
