46- Eventful Day

Mark used all of his strength and climbed up using the iron pickaxe and this was done while he was falling, rocks fell to the lava as Mark struggled to stop his fall.

"Damn!" Mark cursed then bent his body, he stopped moving and fell towards the lava but Mark did not panic, he closed his eyes and tried to feel the wall where the pick-axe was trying to hang on.

And just as he was a few inches away from the lava, in just a moment when Mark felt a small stop on the pick-axe, he immediately pulled his body and propelled himself up to the air. Mark flew up like a rocket and when he reached the peak of his jump, he took out another pick-axe from his inventory and stabbed it towards where he saw the stones will be able to hold him.

*Dang! *Krssst!

The pick-axe slide on the stone for a few moments before it lodged itself on the stone, Mark who was holding just below looked beneath him, he sighed and pulled himself up, he then looked around the ravine and saw a cave not too far away.

Mark carefully moved towards the cave and finally reached it, and just as he stepped into the cave.

*Swish!

Mark tilted his head avoiding the arrow that whistled past just his face, Mark immediately took out the sword from his inventory and looked inside the tunnel, it was very dark and he could not see how many monsters were inside or how strong the skeleton is.

Mark took out a torch from his inventory as he parried another arrow, he then threw it towards the dark cave.

*Swoosh!

Flames suddenly emerged out from the cave and lighted up a certain area, and slowly, Mark saw a skeleton standing on top of a black puddle in which he knew was oil, and it was not just a normal skeleton, the skeleton was covered in blue flames wearing full enchanted golden armor with an enchanted bow, it was 3 meters tall, its eyes were bright red and it was very intelligent for a monster.

"Damn, today is an eventful day huh?" Mark said as he checked the monster in front of him.

*Roar!

The Mighty Skeleton Archer roared as it pulled out another arrow but this time, the arrow changed in color and was covered in flames.

Mark felt danger from the arrow and immediately dodged to the side but just as he was about to dodge to the side with a jump, he noticed that the skeleton adjusted its aim a little wanting to predict his escape route.

*Swoosh! *Boom!

Mark was able to change his jump at the last moment and was able to avoid the direct hit of the arrow but it exploded as it made contact with the ground, dust kicked up around the cave and Mark could was covered by smoke.

*Swoosh!

Mark dashed out of the smoke with a shield on his hand, and a sword in the other, he lost 10% health from that explosion, he immediately charged towards the skeleton and swung his sword.

*Clang!

The skeleton raised its bow and blocked Mark's sword with it, Mark was surprised that the bow was harder than his iron sword, but even with that, he won't stop attacking, he used his shield to bash the skeleton in the head.

*Bang!

The skeleton stepped back from the shield bash but Mark did not give it any chance and once again, the skeleton lost its balance so he could not let it go, a monster with 80,000 health is not easy to take down!

Just as his sword was about to land on the skeleton's neck, the skeleton's eyes glowed brightly, it roared loudly and unknown energy was released from its body blowing Mark away and also stopping his attack.

Mark was able to raise his shield at the last moment and was able to negate some damage from the blast, Mark somersaulted mid-air and landed on the ground on his feet, he lost 20% from that attack!

Mark immediately took out a jerky from his inventory and threw it towards his mouth, slowly his health started regenerating, but his eyes never left the skeleton, he noticed that after the energy blast of the skeleton, it became weak and did not attack Mark.

Mark's eyes flashed and charged towards the skeleton once again, and brandished his sword multiple times towards the weakened Mighty Skeleton Archer, the skeleton movement was sluggish at the first 5 seconds but on the 6th second, its body started regaining its power.

'5 Seconds huh? about 3% of his health is lost, regeneration is not that fast, about 1% per minute, that's enough' Mark calculated and formulated his plan, he then started going around the skeleton while brandishing his sword every time he had the chance to.

5 minutes later, Mark had taken about 6% of its health, he then noticed the Skeleton raised its skeletal legs with flames covering it, he immediately backed away a few meters, and then the skeleton slammed its leg on the ground.

*Boom! *Fwoosh!

As it slammed its leg on the ground, the whole cave shook and from beneath its feet, flames emerged out in all directions, Mark immediately hid behind a huge boulder, and a few seconds later, the whole cave was scorched by the flames.'

Mark could feel the heat of the room rising at a very high degree, he also received a debuff called Scorch for 30 seconds where 1 hp will be lost every second.

Mark took out a water bucket from his inventory and poured it on his body, with that, the heat and also the scorch debuff is removed, but Mark ignored those things, for now, his eyes were laid on the Skeleton in front of him.

*Swoosh!

He reappeared just beside the skeleton and slashed out his sword towards its neck once again and also once again, the skeleton roared once more and used an energy blast that blasted out Mark away.

As Mark was in the mid-air, he turned his body then landed on the ground, "I finally know your pattern!" Mark charged towards the skeleton.
