Through the Void

For an instant, Zemin was rendered helpless by the force on his throat. Then his survival instinct flared up, and he willed the Void System to act.

A small Void Portal—a flat disk the size of a plate—cut through the line of Psi-power. Without a direct connection to its user, the attack immediately weakened, and Zemin could push his own Psi-power to negate what was left of its telekinesis.

He fell to the ground, gasping for air, and took in his surroundings.

The dark street was lit only by a few lamp posts that weren't broken by stray shots. That gave just enough time to see the dark lumps of bodies littering the ground, and glints of drying pools of blood. The Void Portals opened amid this apocalyptic picture could've blended with the shadows if they didn't take so much space.

Zemin only realized now that he was slowly boxing himself in. It wasn't like the Void Portals were less dangerous for him than for others.
