Void Mage’s Proposal

Mage? Swordsman? Countless Worlds? Infinite magic power? A student of Lemore Academy Shito Mahinu was forced to go to an academy that was for mages despite wanting to become a swordsman. A person who lacks motivation but likes swinging his sword around. Magic was something that he already grasped so going to a school to learn more about was something he didn’t want to do. And his sister was known throughout the world as the ‘strongest’ mage in existence, but there were more secrets that lurked in the world, in which the public had no idea about. This is a story about an overpowered protagonist, who wants to spend time with his family and journey through the world without using his full power to fight.

Episode 6- Clearing the Misunderstandings

"...Uh!"

Emerging from her slumber, Tenka had started to wake up, and there was a woman with brown hair and gold eyes sitting down beside her.

"You have finally woken up, Tenka Vermillion." the beautiful woman, Sara Mahinu, said looking at the girl who had awoken.

Tenka looked at the woman and noticed that it was the principal of the academy and someone she admired the most, one of the strongest mages to exist in the world.

"Madam Sara, it's an honor to meet you, but... Where am I right now?!"

"You are in the school's infirmary. You were beaten by the knucklehead earlier. After hitting you with a single hit you passed out."

Hearing that she was hit with a realization, it seemed like the truth was already there and there was no use in denying it. She had been beaten and she didn't stand a chance against the boy that she fought with.

"...Haa! So, I really lost to the transfer student, huh? …A loss that was utterly pathetic not even a single hit of mine landed on him!"

"Winning against him was going to be impossible for you… no matter how hard you trained."

There was going to be no sense of beating around the bush for the school's principal, she was going to put it like it was, her brother was even capable of beating her. So, if he could beat her there was no hope of any of the students beating him.

Tenka just looked at the chairperson and her face frowned, "Why is that? …don't tell me that you are underestimating my training." Even though the woman before he was a person, she deeply admired, she was not going to let any put her hopes and dreams down.

Sara looked at the student and noticed how annoyed she was at the remark she made, but there was no nicer way to go about telling her that it was nothing but a delusion if she thought she could beat him.

I have been with that boy all my life, I know everything that he does… he is too strong for his own good. We are both classified as 'genius' but he was on a greater scale than me, by the age of seven he had learned all types of magic and by the age of ten, he had learned everything that he had to do with swordsmanship.  We both went off the battlefield and wreaked havoc, but I decided to become the principal of the academy to make a place where I and my brother could call our own, since our parents died it was only me and him. But I can't tell her all of that.

"No, I'm not discrediting anything you do, it's just I know the boy you were fighting, and he is just stronger than you."

There was no way that she knew a student in the school personally. This is what Tenka thought looking at the principle. There was no way that a student would be connected to a person as strong as he unless there was something that bound them together for life.

Sara could tell that just by the look on her face that she was deeply thinking about something, and with an educated guess, she figured out that it had something to do with her… She and her brother were smart, and they both could figure out anything without any problems.

I'm guessing she is wondering about what sort of relationship I have with the student she was fighting with, well, I guess it won't do any harm to tell her who the person is, even though I know the reason she fought him, use my mind because students do fight over nothing unless they are complete idiots, and my brother for sure isn't an idiot.

"If you are wondering who that transfer student was to me… he is my little brother."

Tenka was taken aback by her words, there was no way she just picked a fight with the brother of the strongest mage in the world. But that made the most sense to her because there was no way a student reached that kind of level in that short amount of time without an instructor.

That was the reason for him being so… strong but I picked a fight with a person who wasn't any threat to me, I should go apologize to him for the way I acted.

Sara looked at her and she sat back in the seat she was sitting in. There were still a lot of things she had to ask her for, one why was she fighting her brother? Sara wanted to know all the details of what happened between them.

"Tell me… Why did you start fighting with my little brother?" Sara asked the Vermillion princess. There were no reasons for her not to meddle in her brother's life since they were close to each other, she wanted to know how his first day of school was for him.

The only thing Tenka could do was stare at the strongest mage that was sitting before her, what would the woman say if she actually found out the truth about her reasons for fighting her brother?

What would happen if I were to tell her the truth about our fight, we she tried to kill me because I was messing with her brother? What other choice do I have… I can't just lie to her, if I do, I might get myself killed for real.

While her family was one of the strongest families there were people that even they would not dare to offend and one of those was Sara, the strongest mage in the world. But what was the reason that everyone feared her as the strongest mage? There were so many reasons for her to be feared but one of the reasons where that she was strong enough to even make stars collapse.

Gathering up the little courage she had left inside her she looked at the principal, "I thought he was somebody that was after my life, so I made a bet with him to force him out of school."

Sara didn't understand why she would think that her brother was someone that was going to kill her, but she had to think a little about the kind of person her brother was… while to the outside he was kind and nice, deep down he was a ruthless guy that would do anything to achieve his goal.

I understand now. He walked into the classroom and chose to manipulate the person he was protecting, while he probably was doing it to see how she acts… he didn't have to start his school life like that.

Sara nodded her head, "I see. Good thing you both are all right, I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to any of my students." she said as she got up out of the chair, she was sitting in.

Tenka's eyes widened, everyone knew of the rumors that involved Sara. Each rumor included the same word and that word was 'Ruthless'. Nobody dared to mess with her because they were afraid that she would kill them.

But she was seeing firsthand how fake those rumors were about her, she could feel from the way she talked to her that Sara cared for everyone's safety in the classroom even if it was a person she didn't know.

"...Thank you, I appreciate the kindness you are displaying to me!"

"Oh, I almost forgot to tell you that you have a new roommate, so please greet them to the best of your abilities, we don't want you to offend the person who is going to become your new roommate," Sara said as she headed towards the door of the infirmary room.

She walked out of the door and looked up at the ceiling of the school building, memories of the time she spent with her little brother. All the time that she and her brother played around together, times that she missed but knew she was not going to get back any time soon. The world needs all the help it could get and the pillars that kept the world safe were them.

It's been a while since I had a conversation with my brother, he might have thought I abandoned him back when we were kids. I… just hope you can find some happiness too… little brother.

Those were the thoughts of Sara, as she started to walk back to her office to get back to her work. After all, being the principal is no easy feat, her job is something that she had to put her all into because something could happen at any minute.
