Episode 45- [Conference Finals] A Tournament that's Nearing Its End...

When the family arrived in front of the school, they glanced around the area noticing all the people that were walking around the school grounds. Of course, they figured that they were there because the tournament was about to start. Today were the conference finals and they could decide the teams that are going to the finals.

If my calculations are correct then we will be having finals tomorrow morning, well, that's going to be fun because I finally get to push that girl, Lucia, to her limits. She has a power that I want her to use.

Those were the thoughts he had as he tapped his daughters on their shoulders. It was time for them to go to see their aunt, Sara Mahinu since their father did not want to leave them alone in the audience stands. The twins could obviously protect themselves, but as a father, leaving his daughters alone cowed by people was something he was not going to do.

Nodding their heads, Illayaka, and Illya waved their hands and they slowly started to fade away from their legs up.

"Bye-bye, Papa, and Mama. We will be seeing you after your battles, so please do your best."

Saying those words, the two girls faded away, they did not use any kind of teleportation spell, nor did they use the unknown power. Nothing but their physical abilities were used since they were fast enough to fly to the moon and back in an instant. If they wanted, they could cover the entire world if they wanted to. The world was endless and stretched forever.

Shito looked like his daughters disappeared into thin air, they were fast, but he could still see every movement they made, after all, if he truly willed it nothing could escape his eyes. With his eyes, he could even search for the future.

"Well, we have to start fighting our opponents in a couple of minutes, make sure we end this fast… we might be able to start the fight for the finals today if everyone decides to fight quickly. And there are only four teams left, so only two would be able to make it to the finals."

"Even though before you were telling me to stretch the battles out so we could have fun, you are completely changing your mind about that decision, or do you want me to give you time to reconsider?"

"Me? Need time to reconsider? I don't think that's a possibility, all I want is to make it to the finals so I can fight with Lucia."

None of the contestants mattered to him, he just wanted to go out and finish these battles so he could hurry up and fight with the girl. The feeling in his chest was to see how strong the power was and what kind of energy it was. He felt this kind of God-like presence around Lucia and Lilith. For Lilith—she had that moonlight aura to her, and she was insanely strong beyond what a normal mage could ever reach, Lucia had some unknown power that was not known to the world yet.

However, even if the girls had God-like powers inside of them, none of them held a candle to his strength, since he could instantly knock them unconscious or kill them for that matter, but that was something that he was going to never do.

But can one say for certain that if the emotions were to rise in the wrong way, would he kill someone? The answer to this question was simple. The answer was yes because if he felt that a person was beyond redemption then he would instantly kill them. He could figure out a person's intentions just by staring at them, that was something that he could do all his life. The color that showed that the people did evil was black and the color that told them that they did good was blue.

Tenka and Shito walked into the arena, for the past couple of days the arena was changed to an outside environment of course people noticed but no one said a word because they didn't really care.

There was a remote that controlled the whole arena, so the covering was easier to pull down, most times there was a roof over the arena, but when they didn't need the roof.

"....."

The two walked beside each other in utter silence, they had nothing to talk about at the moment because no one really had anything to say. Of course, they could start a conversation, but that was something the two of them didn't want to do now after all, people don't want to always talk about pointless things because it absolutely gets you nowhere.

A couple of seconds later.

Shito and Tenka arrived at the arena. They didn't walk to the top of the arena because six people were standing in front of the battle arena. Noticing that two of them, Lucia, and her partner Rito, were standing in place.

In an instant, the two figured out that those six people were the teams that qualified for the conference finals. Time was key and they were getting ready to wrap up the tournament. The school they were in was like exploring new things and being stuck in a school tournament was going to be very stupid. So, putting an end to the school tournament was something they wanted to do fast.

Walking towards Lucia's team, the two stood beside her quietly, the reason for the students' silence was the announcer was standing on the stage looking at them. He was getting ready to say something and he was waiting for everyone to quiet down.

"I have asked you to quiet down already! So please, quiet down already we have to get ready to start these battles." the announcer, Shiba, shouted through the mic. He was already loud without shouting because he was speaking through the mic, but he didn't care about the ears of anyone else, "We are about to start the battles, so you must wait for them. I need to figure out who will be fighting first!"

Of course, they listened to what the announcer said, after all, they were just as ready to get the tournament over with as the school was, and Shito was waiting to fight with Lucia. Even though he didn't care about the tournament in its entirety, she really wanted to fight with Shito.

The announcer investigated the eight people that were standing in front of the arena since they had no idea who was fighting first since none of them wanted to go sit down and had to get back up after a couple of seconds.

"Team Phoenix and Team Fuu come up to the stage and get ready for your battle… I repeat Team Phoenix and Team Fuu come up to the stage so we can start today's battles."

The other four people who were standing beside them left the arena, and four people stayed behind. One of the groups was Team Phoenix which consisted of Shito Mahinu and his partner, Tenka Vermillion, and they were walking toward the stage, so they could start their battles. The other team was a team that was made up of two boys, who were in their third year. So, it meant that soon the third year would be graduating and going on about their lives as mages, exploring the world to become stronger.

The two teams walked onto the stage and stared at each other. The tension was building between the two teams and both teams wanted to win. Shito had selfish reasons for wanting to win the fight, and the third year wanted to win the fight for the recommendations they could receive from winning the tournament.

Recommendations were something that students received before they went out to the world, having a good recommendation is perfect for the future a person is trying to build because if you have a good person backing you… You would essentially have more benefits. The people who back the mages or the swordsman would provide them with equipment and give them money. They would pay for everything that the contractors went out to do.

However, most people couldn't get a good recommendation, but does that mean they can't succeed if they didn't receive one? The answer was no because no one could really figure out the potential of a person because one could break and surprise limits that are placed on them, so no one could truly decide what a person could or couldn't do. Most of the people that did not receive a recommendation become more successful than the people who received one. That was because they were forced to break their limits and fight to prove that they could be better than others, unlike some people who got lazy because they received a recommendation.

"Are you all ready to start this battle?" the announcer asked, curiosity.

"You can go ahead and start the battles; we are ready to fight!"

Hearing those words, the announcer slowly started to fade from the arena, but he didn't want to want to leave without a few words. He was already leaving the arena so he couldn't just leave without starting the battle, so he slowly started smiling at the group of kids that was standing on the stage.

"Let the battle begin!"

Thus, the conference finals had started, and the start of an epic closing ceremony for the tournament.
