Episode 22- The Arrival of a Demon

Tenka's eyes flickered red and white.

Ice and flames erupted from her body, simultaneously heating and cooling down the area around them.

As she stood before the assassins, Tenka's body was encased in ice and flames were covering her body, it was like she was wearing a dress of pure flames. Even though ice surrounded her whole body the flames still burned brightly.

Tenka quickly swiped her hand up, sending a bunch of ice in the assassin's direction.

"Ice Prison."

The ice started to grow larger, forming a small dome around Zero-Two. Tenka was going to trap her inside so that she did not get in the way of fighting her. That was the only way that she could force her to stay out of the fight. Assassins do not back down even if they must put their lives on the line because that was the way they were raised. 

The other assassins adverting their gazes, looking at the ice that Zero-Two was trapped in. They rushed towards Tenka, with daggers in their hands, they were about twenty times faster than they were before, and their physical attack had increased dramatically as every single step they took created small craters. 

"Diiieeeeeeeeee!" Zero-Five said as she was getting closer to Tenka's face, her daggers were already knowing her eyes but—

"You thought that you could kill me that easily."

The daggers came to a sudden stop in front of her face, ice was covering the assassin's hand. The ice that was covering Tenka's body was not anything normal, it was ice that had its own will, ice that protected its master without being controlled.

This is a spell that I created… I used to be out hunting and killing other people a lot, and I needed a spell to keep me from getting hurt all the time.

Tenka grabbed Zero-Five by the face, and her hand started to heat up, the fire that was surrounding her right side was being channeled into his right hand. A flame that started at a hundred degrees and started to slowly increase. 

"Mehm-hm-hm-hm..." Zero-Five was struggling, trying to get free from Tenka's grip but she was not budging at all.

"Flames of purgatory."

With that, the flames in Tenka's hand reached a temperature beyond three thousand Fahrenheit and the flames started to change color, turning from an orange to a beautiful crimson red. The only thing you could see and hear was Zero-Five screaming in agony as she was burning out of existence, leaving no trace of her body behind. 

It was a brutal sight to witness, Tenka did not care about the lives of anyone she killed, her face never changed when she started killing people, while she may not have been emotionless, the face she had showed otherwise, a face that was used to killing people, a face that could kill anyone even the gods. 

"If we don't attack as a unit then we are going to die!" Zero-Three shouted at the other assassins. He knew that they had the edge in the fight after, there was one assassin that was the best and he was the third best. Two of their own were killed in an instant and they did not do anything to save them.

"You all can die for all I care… that was y'all mission, to begin with, sacrifice your lives so that I could live." Said, Zero-One.

"Hey, man… I thought we were friends."

Zero-One looked at Zero-Three and smiled sadistically, he never thought of any of the other assassins as 'friends' matter of fact they were something else to him.

I'm glad they are turning on each other. This would be easier to win this way and I thought I was going to be killed fighting these S-rank assassins... Looks like I have gotten stronger. 

Feeling an unusual aura coming from the area, Tenka looked at Zero-One, noticing that he was covered in a pure purple aura, an aura that was pure evil. The assassins from the assassin's guild were always evil, but his aura was above that it was as if he was—

"....There is no way… is it?" 

The sight that she witnessed before her was Zero-One, bursting out of his assassin's clothes, turning into a monster, which had two big horns on his head, and clothes and black clothes started to cover his body. The once human was transforming into his real form, a form that was beyond any human. What Zero-One really was… was a demon.

This man is a demon! What is a demon doing here? Are demons starting to invade the human world again? There is no way that they want to start a fight— after all that happened true peace was created. Unless they have something planned for the future. Well, whatever it is they do not need to involve the human nations. The war they had took decades to end.

The Mythical War. A war that finally ended over 15 years ago, a war that lasted two decades, the war ended when a powerful mage stopped it and created worlds for some other races to live in, demons, humans, and spirits were separated into the three worlds. The mage that made that miracle come about was Sara Mahinu, the older sister of Shito. She was young at the time, about the age of 15 years old.

Tenka looked at the demon and in front of her, Zero-One had completely transformed, and his skin turned from that of a normal human to a tomato-red color. 

"What are you doing in the human world… you demon?" Tenka said, looking at the terrifying demon that was standing before her. The demon was releasing a huge amount of bloodlust, ready to kill her. "You are willing to be down here and break the peace of the demons and humans." 

"As of right now… we care no nothing of the sort, we need you to die because you could become a strong mage like that woman that created those three worlds to divide the races."

Tenka just looked at the man confused, she did not know what to say, finding out that you could potentially become someone as strong as the strongest mage in the world was shocking.

However, this was no time for her to think about that, there was a demon in front of her and he was not some weak demon, he was someone who had a lot of strength.

Rushing at the demon, Tenka's sword Caliburn was beaming in a bright rainbow light, a light that reached temperatures beyond that of the sun.

"Send him back to hell, Caliburn!" 

Tenka thrust her sword at the demon, sending a huge colorful beam at him, the beam was so strong that it separated the heavens from the earth. 

The demon crushed the beam, looking at Tenka who was still standing in front of him with a bright shining sword. The sword started to vibrate, and she stabbed it directly into the ground. The ground started to crack, and you could see rainbow lights flashing from the lights. 

"Extinction Flames." 

Flames from the ground started to burst from the ground, the flames were rainbow and they burned anything on a physical and spiritual level. Extinction flames would burn your soul and spirit out of existence. The magic spell was created by fusing flames of an assortment of colors.

"Do you think use demons can't regenerate from having our bodies and souls erased… if you did think you could beat us that way you are surely mistaken," Zero-One said, wavering his hand at the flames, blowing them away.

So that is not going to work on him… huh? Well, I should have expected that demons could regenerate from that, he stood in that fire and brushed it off. 

Vanishing from plain sight, Zero-One appeared behind Tenka, punching her ice, and completely shattering it, sending her flying across the lawn. Her ice was physically strong enough to protect her from the collapse of a whole building, but the ice was easily broken by a single punch.

Kuh! … W-what the hell is that strength, which felt like I just got hit by a building, but it is to be expected that he has that kind of physical strength… After all, this man is a demon. 

Tenka rushed towards Zero-One with her sword, swinging it at him trying her best to hit him but not a single attack managed to connect to his body. He was simply faster than her. Simply stronger.

"I am not going to die here! I will not die here! I have someone I want to see, and no one is going to get in the way of that!" 

"Don't worry, the person you want to see will be meeting with you soon enough… in hell that is since I'm going to kill you both."

Hearing that, Tenka started to release bloodlust that filled the area, the ice started to appear out of her body, flames started to rage through the grassy lawn, and the wind started to blow hard, making it feel like a storm was going to pass through at any moment. 

I'm not going to let him kill him…! There is no way I can let him kill him!  I am going to have to break every single limit that is on me and overpower him! That is the only thing I can do at the moment… 

The deepest parts of Tenka's body started to heat up, a new power was forming inside of her body. A power that was not there before, since she was a swordsman too, she was bound to unlock the power of ki someday and her body had finally been pushed to the limit so she could use it. One of the main reasons that people die becoming magic knights is not being able to control both ki and mana simultaneously. 

"There is no way that I am letting you leave here alive after threatening one of my beloved people. I cannot simply let you leave this area!" she let out a thunderous roar.
