Episode 19- The Collusion of Two Best Friends (Part Two)

"Burn in the flames of purgatory, hellfire"

A chilling voice sounded in the arena as purple flames started to circle around Lucia's body. Her flames were burning brightly.

Lifting her finger toward the heavens, the flames started to move around. She was controlling the flames with her fingers.

"Wow, these flames are hot. I'm wondering how much of this you would be able to take; you might have gotten stronger but remember, I'm the strongest student in this school, so don't expect me to go down without a fight."

"...."

Lilith didn't say a single word as she instantly appeared in front of Lucia swinging her sword at her chest. She was aiming to kill her, even though she couldn't even if she wanted to because of how strong Lucia was.

Her sword blade was engulfed in purple flames. Flames from all over the arena were closing in on Lucia, with both her friend and flames rushing in, she calmly adjusted her breathing.

Even with the situation like it was, Lucia was completely unworried about the current situation she was facing, with her breath already adjusted. The calm aura that was around her body was something that would be scary for anyone who faced her in battle, after all, she was also sealing her emotions.

"Holy Sword Arts, Close Range Technique. Consecutive Layered Slashes!"

Holding her rapier in her right hand, she swings her sword once in a swirl motion, linking several slashes together.

Swinging her sword once again, multiple slashes came from her sword. For every swing she took, about ten slashes would come from her blade.

All the flames that were enclosing her suddenly disappeared without a trace, she slightly lifted the hilt of her sword and collided with Lilith.

"Wha—...!"

The flames were hot enough to burn away a star, but they suddenly disappeared without a trace as she was parried by Lucia.

Even though she knew how strong her friend was, Lilith was a little stunned that in a single second, she could cut and nullify her spell and parried her. She quickly backed away from her.

"Looks like. That wasn't going to be enough to get to you but that was to be expected, after all, you are the strongest student in the class."

There was a five-meter distance between the two, and Lilith had to put some distance between them so she could get ready for her next attack. After all, in terms of short-distance attacks, Lucia would completely crush her.

"What is your next move then…?! After all, you yourself know you stand no chance against me in a close-ranged battle."

Lilith knew that everything that came from her mouth was the truth, she knew how much she was lacking compared to her in close combat but that was the only thing she fell behind in.

She lifted her sword in the air, and her sword glowed in a color that was similar to that of the moonlight. Particles were covering the area. This was the attack she created for herself. A sword technique that could be either a long or short-distance strike.

"With this attack. I shall crush you, the strongest student in this school."

The particles started to form blades that surrounded the whole area, blades that were the same color as the moonlight. The blades we something that she could use as weapons and something that would keep forming into the world. She would have an endless number of swords as long as the ability was activated, so her swords would never run out.

She grabbed one of the moonlight swords and the sword suddenly disappeared from the world and the swords started to violently shake the world. The pressure the swords that were releasing was strong enough to make the world collapse.

"Become one with the heavens, Special Sword Style. Moon Mistress."

She swung her sword and all of them and released crescent moon-like slashes toward Lucia. If her attacks were connected, then she would cut her up like butter.

Gripping her sword tightly, quickly started to dodge all of the strikes, and instantly appeared in front of her. She didn't attack her because she didn't want the battle to end like that. After all, her best friend was one of the strongest people she ever fought in her first.

"The countless battles I have fought around the world were nothing like this. This might be the strongest opponent I have ever fought and that goes with saying because I used to fight A-rank adventures when I was still a child. And I still crushed them with my blade, so that would have to be for you two because—"

A bright gold light covers her whole body, the light was protecting her body from any type of harm and from any of the attacks she throws at her.

With her beautiful golden eyes beaming with confidence, she slowly started to lift her sword over her head. There were countless swords surrounding her body and they all started to surround her body.

"--With this blade, I shall crush your strongest attack."

Swinging her sword, countless moonlight swords flashed with two lines of brilliant light before promptly disappearing. She looked at the swords and noticed that they had started to form again.

This isn't going to work, is it? The swords are going to be regenerated as soon as they get destroyed from the looks of this attack. I'm going to have to nullify the ability altogether.

Swords started to disappear one after the other. None of the swords reformed after they disappeared.

Pointing her sword at her best friend, Lucia immediately disappeared, and her speed had already increased tenfold. She had already broken the barriers and reached speeds that were beyond the speed of light. To be more specific she moved around ten times faster than the speed of light.

Sensing an ominous presence behind her, Lilith quickly turned around and noticed the girl standing behind her, the long flowing blond hair that was tied up into pigtails.

She stuck her hand out and a moonlight sword appeared in her left hand, and she took the sword strike that was sent towards her. She perfectly parried her strike with the two swords she had in her hand.

Dual wielding was what she was doing because with one hand she wouldn't have been able to take a sword strike from her. Lilith could keep up with Lucia in the speed department, but she was heavily outclassed in physical strength. And with that in mind, she trained dual-wielding to make up for her lack of physical strength.

"Boost."

With those words, Lilith started to boost her physical abilities by two times. The boost ability was a basic ability that all mages could use, after all, it was the first skill that they learned when going to school.

Quickly turning her body, she kicked Lucia in the stomach and sent her flying. The kick she just did was strong enough to kick and collapse a building.

"Kuhhh!"

Lucia felt the pain from the kick even though it was too strong physically, Lilith was forcing mana into her body causing her to send shockwaves that caused her bones and organs to shake. Her heart was not affected by the shockwaves because she had a barrier over her heart that stopped any attack from interacting with her heart.

"Sending shockwaves throughout my body was a smart thing to do but remember I protect my heart from being damaged so these kinds of attacks would never work on me." Lucia lifted her sword in the air and smiled. "While I would love to play around with you, this attack will be the last one. One that would end this battle completely."

With those words, the space around them began to warp. This was the ability that she created, an ability that allowed nothing to get past the barrier. As long as the person was slower than her, they had no hope of reaching her. A barrier that couldn't be seen. An ability that was called—

"...What the hell… is happening..?!" she stared at the sight that was around her, nothing but an empty black space could be seen. "There was nothing that can be seen what is happ—"

"Empty World." her voice echoed around the endless space. The only thing that could be heard was her voice.

—Empty World was what she called the ability she was using. It was a space that was as big as the world that they had just come from. An ability that bends space transferring them to an empty world that had nothing in it. This was an ability that most people couldn't escape from.

"What the hell was tha–"

The ground that was under her feet began to start moving, her vision was getting dizzy, and she began to wobble around. She was feeling the feeling of getting knocked out.

Her ability started to fade away and she was the only one that stood in the arena. She looked around to see that their teammates were standing on the sideline outside of the barrier.

The announcer arrived in the middle of the stage, and he had a mic in his hand, he was getting ready to announce the winner of the battle.

"Team Frontier has won this battle!" he shouted through the mic. "Someone come and get this gir–"

"Nope, they don't have to do that because… I'm going to do that right now."

With those words, she walked over to Lilith and picked her up, and she completely disappeared from the arena. Leaving no trace of her presence behind. The infirmary room was close by, so she was in a hurry to get her friend the help she needed.
