Episode 13- Round One: Starting Point of the Tournament

Shito and Tenka stood in front of the dome-shaped arenas, there were ten arenas and total so that meant that ten battles would go on at one time. Each year has three classes, and there were twenty students in each class. This was excluded from the student council because they themselves were above the average students. They had a class along with the disciplinary committee. A class that was called the TAA.

TAA was shortened so the true name was Talents Above Average. The disciplinary committee and the student council were the strongest students in the entire school. The only reason they had been given an entirely different class to study was that they had talents that far exceeded the others.

People may ask why wasn't Tenka placed in that class. The answer is simple, that was because she wanted to live a normal life. Having to be in a class like that would require her to do more things that she isn't willing to do at the moment. She had been exploring the world for a while, so she wanted to take a little break.

Both the student council and disciplinary committees would be fighting in the battles. The whole school wanted to gauge how far ahead they were compared to the other students.

All the students from each year were standing in front of the dome-shaped arenas waiting for the announcer to say something about their fights. Nobody wanted to be matched with anyone from the student TAA classroom first, but Shito and Tenka didn't care who they matched up with the only thing they wanted was to hurry up and see their daughters.

"Ok, students the tournament for the academy is about to start. You all should have registered your team names before you have come to stand here."

The team's names were the names that students picked out for themselves so they could be called together. Learning everyone's names and remembering them the entire day would be hard for most people, so they made it simpler for everyone. So, everyone must have a name registered.

Shito and Tenka had already picked out their pair name. The name they picked out for themselves was Phoenix. A symbol that meant rebirth.

"At arena one team's Phoenix and team Reindeer, head the stage and prepare for your battles. Next up are teams Teppas and Juna. Head to the second arena and prepare for your battles. At the third arena, teams Beamer and Uni head to the arena and prepare for your battles. At the fourth arena, teams Lupas and Nexus head to the arena and prepare for your battles. At the fifth arena, teams Rex and Luni head to the arena and prepare for your battles. At the sixth arena, teams Peppa and Hex head to the arena and prepare for your battles. At the seventh arena, teams Lmo and Kitten head to the arena and prepare for your battles. At the eight arena teams, Bemore and Jinx head to the arena and prepare for your battles. At the ninth arena, teams Liner and Teams Fenrir head to the arena and prepare for your battles. Last but not least, at the Tenth arena, teams Kink and Tumb head to the arena and prepare for your battles."

With those words, the people started to head toward their designated arenas. Each of the teams was from a different year but none of the students were from the special class.

Anyone could tell who was from the special class because each of the students from the special class wore a blue cloth that sat on their shoulders like a cape, but the blue clothes were only on their left shoulders.

The rest of the students that didn't have to fight went to the other side of the arena. Seats were placed there for the students to watch the fight for themselves. After all, getting information on the other contender could help them succeed in winning the fights.

"Hey, Tenka, make sure you don't use your full strength right now," Shito said as he and Tenka were walking towards the arena they were assigned to. He didn't want her to use her full strength.

"Why? Isn't it best we get this over with quickly… so we can go see our children."

Shito looked at Tenka before looking at the tinted windows where his daughter was at. There were a lot of reasons for them not to use their full strength. Obviously one of the reasons was to give his daughter a good show to watch, he knew that the two of them were watching him right now but that wasn't the only reason. Another one was because—

"It would get too boring if we did it that way. We came here to fight so the least we could do is have some sort of fun. After all, both of us still got skills we want to test so the people we fight with can be our training dummies."

—winning too fast was going to be really boring. This was a time he could use to help Tenka improve her skills. Tenka had just unlocked her ability Mirror World, so she could put it to use in this battle. The students don't really stand a chance against the ability but testing it was something she could do.

All the abilities that were chained up inside of her were released so she could figure out the other abilities she had besides the ability Mirror World.

"Well, I guess I can play along with your little game but… I know what you are trying to do, and I'm not going to try and figure out my other skills right now. The people in this academy would not be able to handle those abilities but that was a nice try."

Shito looked away from her, he knew she was an intelligent girl, but he didn't think she would figure out what he was planning.

"Damn… how smart are you?" Shito was a little curious about intelligence. After all, he managed to manipulate her when they first started school, so he wanted to know what her current level of intelligence is. "I didn't expect you to figure out what I was thinking, you should be really smart."

"I'm also classified as a genius too. After our fight on the first day, it took me a while to figure out that you manipulated the whole situation. I'm not mad that you did it because you were trying to gauge my current abilities at that time."

There was no one who even noticed him manipulating her, everyone in the classroom thought that he was being serious in his introduction. Tenka was smart enough to figure out that nothing at the time he said was genuine, thus the reason for her sudden declaration of battle.

"Well, let's move a little faster. We still have battles to fight and it's probably going to last for a couple of days. They are going to do ten battles a day, so that would mean that twenty students would be fighting each day. So, after today, we are going to have nine days until the final rounds."

"You counted the special class since they also have twenty students in their class."

"...Mhm."

The acceptance rate of Lemore Academy was low, there were not more than two hundred students in the school. The academy was big enough to hold more than that, but most people are not qualified to enter. There were many other schools for mages, so others knew that they had no chance there and applied for another school.

So, the other big academy held more than two hundred with their numbers of students being over thousands of kids.

Since the Lemore Academy gives their students the best resources for their quest to become mages… that was one of the reasons that the school produced some of the best mages in the world.

What was the point of producing qualified mages? The answer was simple the schools needed younger mages to lead the generation. Mages were said to be able to live past the age of a hundred and even retain their youth if they were strong enough.

One of the main reasons why the strongest mage Sara still looked so young. She looked like a twenty-year-old woman despite being in her thirties. She had gained immortality because of all the strength she had gotten in her life.

The same could be said for her brother and his daughters since they had his mana. All of them became immortal as he did. They would still grow but they would stop at the age of twenties. Tenka was also immortal but since her strength wasn't like the rest of them, she would die after about a thousand years, but her body would never age.

Shito and Tenka arrived at the first arena, and the two of them walked onto the stage and looked at their opponents. They were students that didn't partially stand out, so their names didn't really matter to them. It wasn't like they were going to be acquainted after the tournament anyway.

"Are you students ready to start the battles!" the announcer raised his voice through the mic. Even though the mic would make his voice loud, he decided to shout through it anyway.

"We are ready to begin these battles!" all the students from the ten arenas shouted. They were ready to hurry up and start fighting because they had been standing around for a couple of minutes and they were getting bored.

"Well, let the battle begin!"
