The Attack

'The view changes as I feel the wind blowing, seeing the same lake on the map simmer as the sunlight hits the water, taking in the breathtaking view. Glancing around the lake, noting things that stand out in the view; the odd-looking flowers at the lake's bay, colors of blues, yellows, and reds, just weren't any flowers I could name. Turning my attention to the next area to see a mountain with snow upon it, feeling something familiar about this place.'

"Anything?", Mrs. Elfling asks.

"The lake feels familiar but other than that, no.", I reply.

"Did you see anything that made the place feel familiar?", she asks.

"Not really, since the flowers were odd-looking and last, I checked, flowers weren't blue.", I state.

"Blue flowers?"

"Mhm."

"Ruth, there you are!"

"Vivian?", I say, turning around.

"Hurry, there are guards storming this place looking for you.", she says.

Glancing over at Mrs. Elfling to see her looking at me before we rush to put the maps into the bag, suddenly hearing a sound north of us. Grabbing Vivian, placing inside the pocket before taking off south. Getting invisible just as the guards burst open the door, side-glancing to see that Mrs. Elfling relax. Flying to the top of a tower, coming visible, and taking the map that I was just looking at- unfolding it, it shines once again, making me cover my eyes and groaning.

"Why does it do that?", I mumble.

Once the light fades away, I look at it to see it changed, confused, lifting it above my head hoping to see what I saw in the secret room, but there wasn't anything there. Holding back a groan of frustration before looking once again, hoping to find something that could help me figure out which way I should be heading. With that in mind, watching as the map changes to the area of the kingdom as it shows me a faint light blue line to the west of the tower. Humming, folding the map when Vivian pops out.

"Where are we heading to?", she asks, helping the Drause up.

"We're heading west.", I answer her while handing her the map.

As she touches it, it shrinks to her size, making both of us stare in shock before kicking myself out of it; taking off, as Vivian has a death grip on the map as the wind hits her.

"Can't you slow down?", Vivian whines.

"Would that really make a difference?", I ask.

"I guess not.", she mumbles.

Laughing a bit before cheering her up, "Look, why don't you tell me where to go from the map."

"Fine, but I'm only doing this because I would be bored.", they snap out.

Laughing, as I know for a fact that isn't true, but I'll leave it alone; passing the forest that surrounds the kingdom Tevelia. Dropping to the ground as I sense we're about to get hurt-

"Vivian, hold on!"

Folding my wings, as I weave through trees before making a mad dash upwards, making sure to not lose sight of the people trying to shoot us down. Backflipping has the person comes flying upwards, swiftly taking the dagger out of my boot and holding it against the person's neck.

"Why are you following us?", I demand.

"Like I would tell you.", they growl.

Bursting out laughing, then glaring down at them, and smiling, putting my head close to their ear and whisper, "It's a shame you have to die."

Pressing the blade deeper into their throat-

"WAIT! I'LL TALK!"

"Then talk.", I growl.

"Queen Lexa has a bounty on your head. She doesn't care if you're alive or not.", they begin. "There's about thirteen hundred people after you."

"Tevelia doesn't have that many people because the new queen only wants Night elves, normal dragons, and fairies in there. And if I recall correctly, most of the population in that kingdom is neither of those races. So tell me how the hell she could get thirteen hundred people to come after me?", I state, bluntly.

"I... I..."

"You what.", I growl, pressing the blade harder against their throat.

"I overheard the queen talking to someone about taking the money from your bounty and using it for herself.", he shouts.

"That doesn't explain-"

Throwing the dagger, skinning the side of the person's cheek, throwing the bounty hunter behind the tree, ducking. They hit the tree, smirking when the tree made no vibration. Now I understand what the dude was saying. Swinging a left hook, making the said person disappear; taking no time, lifting my hand above my head before dropping the hand as a knife scrape the side. Eyes darken in anger, but don't let it control my emotions.

"You're getting on my fucking nerves."

"Right back at you, bitch!"

Knives come flying at me as I dodge, stop, and reflect on them while throwing the few daggers I have back; sensing an attack to my right, roundhouse kicking, using the momentum from that to throw another dagger. Smirking as I hear a hiss, not wanting to endanger Vivian or the creature, tossing the bag onto a tree branch, keeping it out of harm's way. Flying straight at the person, has their eyes widen in surprise before going back to normal and getting ready for my attack. Smirking at this, faking a right swing, watching them prepare for that attack to kneeing them in the guts. As they bend over, grabbing their shoulders and tossing them- swiftly turning around, grabbing the bag and turning invisible as I make a getaway.

"That was scary.", Vivian says after we're six feet away.

"Which part?", I ask softly.

"All of it."

Humming as I continue to go west, keeping an eye out for anymore bounty hunters; the sound of my wings flipping through the wind becomes the only sound the three of us hear until Vivian speaks.

"Take a right."

Taking the sharp right and groaning as I feel the full blast of the wind hitting my stomach almost making me gasp, grinding my teeth hard until the pain disappears.
