Han Zhan chimed in with a mocking smile, "By feeding him poison?"
Both Han Xin and Peng Xiu glared at him, and Han Zhan pursed his lips, lowering his head to continue eating while enjoying the show. Wasn't it good to just eat melons seeds on the side.
"I don't need you to thank me," Han Xin said, his tone final. "Just do your job right and don't do anything unnecessary."
With that, Han Xin turned to leave, and Peng Xiu was filled with a great sense of crisis. She had done extra things for him before, but this was the first time he had criticized her so harshly. He seemed even more distant than before. She wanted to follow him but restrained herself.
When Han Xin came back down, he was dressed in his suit jacket, looking like he was heading out. Han Zhan noticed and took one last bite. "Wait for me," he called out. He turned to Peng Xiu and said, "See you at the office," before walking away with a smile.
