Two Sides Of A Coin

As we arrived back at Club Nocturne, the weight of the recent events hung heavy in the air, a palpable tension crackling beneath the surface. Sophie stood before us, her expression wrought with guilt and sorrow as she prepared to share her story.

Taking a deep breath, Sophie began to speak, her voice trembling with emotion. "I need to explain," she said, her words a whispered confession. "Since I became a vampire, I've struggled to control my urges. When I see blood, I... I can't resist the temptation. I'm bound to drink from the person bleeding, to drain them dry."

It was something all vampires could relate to but they all had control over it except for her, because she was a reaper. A vampire that couldn't stand the sight of blood without drinking the person bleeding to death.

A collective gasp echoed through the room as Sophie's revelation sank in, the gravity of her words weighing heavily on each of us. It was a burden she had carried in silence, her secret shame driving her to isolate herself from those she cared about.

"I'm not like other vampires," Sophie continued, her voice choked with emotion. "I'm a reaper—a predator driven by an insatiable hunger. I tried to resist, to control my urges, but it was no use. I was seen as a monster, feared and reviled by those around me."

Tears of blood welled in Sophie's eyes as she recounted her descent into darkness, her isolation driving her further into the depths of despair. But then, a glimmer of hope emerged amidst the darkness—a group of vampires who accepted her for who she was, encouraging her to embrace her true nature without shame or fear.

"We went on a killing spree," Sophie admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "The Witch's brother was one of the people I killed. She witnessed it, saw what I had become. And afterwards, she started killing us, one by one. She tracked us all down and killed every one of us involved in her brother's death. There were many of us but now, I'm all that's left...the last of them."

"That explains the reason for the murders in the city", I interrupted as I realised.

The room fell silent, the weight of Sophie's words hanging heavy in the air. It was a story of pain and regret, of the consequences of succumbing to one's darkest impulses. But amidst the sorrow, there was a glimmer of understanding—a realization that Sophie's actions had been driven by a desperate need for acceptance and belonging.

As we processed Sophie's confession, a sense of empathy washed over us, a silent acknowledgment of the pain she had endured. Though her actions had caused immeasurable harm, it was clear that she was not beyond redemption.

"I understand but it has been decided that we must turn you in so you can face judgement and stand trial," Lucian said, his voice filled with determination. "I understand everything you've been through but you took innocent lives and because of your actions, a lot of people died. We need to put an end to the bloodshed."
