But when we both arrived outdoors, there was nothing, no one to be found. It didn’t seem quite right to me, as it didn’t align with Emanuel’s words.
“Are you kidding?” Motioning with my hands all around me, I groaned in pure disgust. “You call this fun? Dark, cold emptiness…”
Shivering uncontrollably, I looked to Emanuel, expecting some answers. But Emanuel wasn’t facing me any longer, as his attention was currently focused elsewhere.
“Hey,” he laughed, hugging someone whom I couldn’t quite see. “She’s waiting for you here. Well, no, actually, we both were, but mainly her.”
Feeling rather puzzled, a large torrent of thoughts raced through my mind. Why all the secrecy? And why had Emanuel already seemed to have told these guests about her, as though they had been awaiting her appearance?
“I’m not sure. Just…” Calmly, Emanuel smoothed his fur. “Be careful with her. She is a little sensitive.”
