Chapter 42

The morning has been going surprisingly peaceful for Scarlet, unlike the previous days where she always had unpleasant mornings. After a calming walk in the fresh air, she started to return back to class when she heard the bell, but her mind still reeled from her talk with Damien.

He was a vampire, something she had known the moment she set her eyes on him and noticed him to be different from anyone she has ever met before. At first glance, he was just the cello guy Melanie was obsessed with, who had arrived at the performance late, and yet calm. She wondered if he already gotten another cello. He said he killed Tony because he broke his cello. She takes it to be a lie. One can't kill a person because of an object. It's totally absurd!

And more than that, she thought about herself, of what she was becoming.

She was about to enter the class when she heard her name and she turned her head to see Harper jogging towards her.
