Chapter 10: Avari Tower

*Avari Tower*

I stood breathless as I stared into Rilian's eyes, his expression indistinguishable. Then without another word, he walked away, leaving me still in the case. I only stood there for a moment before I heard him call another man behind him.

"Get the wolf wrapped up," said Rilian coldly, "and pay the bill."

Rilian turned and did not look at him again as he walked straight to the front door. Then I was approached by the largest man I think I had ever seen. He towered over me as he stepped in front of the case, his dark brown hair chopped short and his brows heavy. He wore a white button-down shirt that clung tight to his muscular chest, and I could still see full sleeves of colorful tattoos peeking through the pale fabric.

"Shhiiiza," I cursed, backing up against the far end of the case.

Not that it would have helped me. He reached in with an impossibly long arm and grabbed me by the shirt, pulling me out of the box and under his arm in one sweep.
