After three years of marriage, Wendy Stewart was used to Michael Lucas's sarcastic remarks, his frequent threats about getting divorced, and even his indulgence of a mistress. She thought that she could bear with this her entire life, until she accidentally got pregnant with a child that Michael did not want. Finally despondent, Wendy signed the divorce agreement and left. She thought they could have parted ways forever, but Michael refused to stop looking for her after the divorce. When they met again, she was the world's top designer. After organizing the two children's birthdays yesterday, Wendy was exhausted.
She slept through the morning and woke up around midday.
Zess did not come in to wake Wendy either.
After getting up and exiting her bedroom, Wendy became aware of Zen's and Zess' voices coming from the kitchen.
"Let me do it, seriously. You're a guest, don't worry about it." Zess told Zen.
"It's fine, honestly. I'm not a guest. I can take care of the housework. You can sit back and relax while I take over for the day, okay?"
That was Zen's voice.
"Really, you don't have to. Wendy is used to eating the food I make and it suits her taste. It has nothing to do with your skills," insisted Zess.
"I've known Wendy for many years. We were classmates in university, so I know what she likes to eat. I also know her food preferences; she used to always like eating the stir-fries I made. Let me do it."
