Athena moved a little further, watching as the memory faded to merge into another one. She heard the loud laughter of a woman. It was different from that of the woman with burgundy hair.
The timber was much higher than that of the woman with burgundy hair. It was sweeter.
She stood right there beside the wall this time, wrapped in a blanket as her hands reached out calling to the other woman.
"Liza …"
There was a form of love in her voice. The tenderness that came only when you were in love with someone. From years of memories together. From a happiness that could not be denied. Liza, the woman with the burgundy hair came into view.
An exasperated expression on her face. As she gave into the woman's demands. Athena could see it in the creature's eyes that she loved the other woman. They were so soft.
Looking at her with awe. The creature was truly beautiful once. She was pure once.
Liza folded her arms around the other woman and said, "There will be a day I will stop pampering you my love … you're not worth the trouble."
Liza said with a sweet smile on her face as she kissed the woman's forehead.
"Do you love me?"
"You know I do …"
A sad smile masked Athena's face as she moved further still closer to the glass as the laughter still echoed somewhere in the back.
A strong dark energy was present at the edge of the glass. The energy was completely different from the rest of the room. The resistance Athena felt upon entering the chateau became stronger. A strong feeling of guilt, shame and pain washed over her senses.
Athena was about to touch the glass when she felt the first burning lick of the creature. Liza was here. Morever, Liza knew that Athena was here.
"Don't!"
Boomed Liza's loud voice from behind. Anger emanated from her very being.
"I don't want you to see what you will see when you touch that glass. I don't want you to find out the secrets that these walls hold. The pain that they have suffered. The one story that you will revive when you touch it. Little bird, you will unleash horrors upon this world that no longer wish to unleash. You know you are changing me … if you set that door free behind it you will only find your damnation. She is still here. She never left. And she is not a Sarrafas like me. She is something much worse. Much more broken. And letting her go will only cause pain to her and you. You will seal your fates. A fate worse than mine… You know what I am talking about. I know you can see the black waves. I know you can feel how different it is from the rest of the chateau. You are drawn to it, aren't you? Just like you were drawn to him. Just like he drew you into the darkness … you want to join him don't you? Atleast a part of you does. I wonder if you were actually born to bring the light? Or were you meant to harness the shadows?"
