Dragon's Elixir

It was not a secret that I was there. Charli knew about it. He even sent a couple of letters but I refused to come back at that moment and replied him not to worry about me and I will be back when the time is ripe. And I had requested him to keep my location and identity as a Goldwin, a Secret. However my identity as a sword master would not be kept hidden due to various reasons. I even changed my family name and made sure no one could trace me back to the King and his family."

"A Pheniox, is there a real Phinox in the Misty Mountains? I never heard anyone had seen it Harry." Charles exclaimed.

"No one had seen the dragon Charlie, but didn't we tried to fight and got our ass kicked by it?" Harry asked smiling sheepishly.

Again the six of Harry's disciples looked extremely sad. King also observed them and wondered aloud, "Did they also failed and got kicked out?"

Harry smiled bitterly, Alas if only that were the case Charlie, if only that was true." King Charles was awestruck. "You mean.... You mean they succeeded?"

Harry noded his head. "They killed the last living dragon of this kingdom."

Gasps louder than shouts echoed inside the room. Bewilderment, awe and fear was evident on everyone's face.

"You know what Charlie, the black dragon, we wanted to kill was not a mindless beast as we thought. It spoke to us before taking its final breath. It was actually happy to die charlie. It made us do something that will haunt us forever. It... It actually was proud of us for not giving up and making it yield."

Crash.... Alan who was holding the chair, gripped it so hard that, it broke into pieces. The five of his brothers put their hand on his shoulder. "I.... ahm... Ahmmm... I am fine guys." Alan said clearing his throat with tears in his eyes. Lilly and Irene who had never seen him in tears were shocked to see Alan like this.

Harry went to him and Hugged Alan. "I am so... So.... Sorry lad. Its all my fault that you felt the pain of the dragon. Please forgive me. I should never had taken you guys there to achieve things where I had failed."

Alan didn't say anything but tears fell down his eyes. After a few seconds Harry continued. " It.... No... He, gave us an elixir and made us drink it extending our life beyond normal humans life span Charlie.

"Oh, don't worry...Harry said waving his hand dismissively looking at the expression of others, " We are not invincible or immortals, its just that, like dragons, we can live a long..... Very long..... extremly long life."

"Alan here who can talk to the beasts." Before someone could interfear, Harry continued a bit loudly, "Yes he can talk to the beasts and No..... he is not a beast tamer, but something beyond that. It's a special gift he posses from his birth."

The Dragon had a long conversation at the end with him, before it spoke to all of us outloud.

"What made the pain in our heart unbareable was not that we killed it, but the dragon gave it's own essence to those who killed it. And that too as a reward."

"What do you mean by that Harry?" Charles asked in confusion.

"It took an oath of compulsion from us to drink the elixir. Before that he gave us the benifits and even informed us about the pain the elixir would bring. All of us through and finally agreed happily. But when we found out about the source of the elixir, We.... We..." Harry too had tears in his eyes. "It was the Dragons life essence taken from its heart while it was still alive. The moment it was extracted it fell down dead with a peaceful look on its face, Charlie. It gave its own life to extend ours."

A long silence followed after that. No one spoke. The ladies had tears in their eyes. The men were grief-stricken .

After almost 10 minutes of complete silence, Irene went to Dave and took his hands in hers. " Is this the reason you were hesitant to accept me completely?"

Dave who had his head bowed and tears in his eyes, cleared his throat, looked at her and nodded his head. " Yes Rene...."

"I don't care Dave. That didn't turned you into a monster or a beast right?"

Dave looked surprised by her words. Before he could speak, Irene stopped him by saying, " we will talk about it later." But there was a warmth in her smile. He noded blankly.

After few more minutes. Harry again cleared its throat. " Enough of the sad story. Charlie let me introduce my Disciples, honestly you can say they are like my children."

This statement surprised the King's family and even Remus's.

"As I told you, they are all Healer Helen's grandson's." And then he started to introduce all of them and even his other students.

The King and the Queen thanked them again for saving their lives. King came to Alan and patted his should with a smile but turned to Harry with a doubtful expression. " Harry I remember arrows bouncing off his chest. Even though the other lad.. ., Williams covered it on time. I saw it clearly. By any chance did he... "

Harry grinned wickedly." Not only him Charlie, all six of them. All six of them."

King Charles mouth hung open in awe.

"See you later my brother. I don't want my disciples to get involved in the mess downstairs. Take care Maaya dear. I will come soon and we will have ample time to talk later." Harry waved at Maaya and beckoned everyone to follow him and took a different route to leave the palace.
