"Williams, fetch the combat skill manuals you have, and after collecting them, head to the kitchens. Let the maid know to send us some fruit wine and a glass of milk for you and Alan," John directed.
Williams happily nodded and set off. Once he was out of earshot, John turned to Alan, asking, "How are you feeling, my boy?"
"I'm fine, Grandpa John. There are no issues that I can feel of."
"Good. Do you recall our discussion about interacting with others your age?" John queried once more.
Alan nodded, stating, "Be a child when you are with a child" and to "restrain my strength at all times except in dire situations. Untill I become an Adventurer " He concluded.
John felt a sense of pride and glanced around, noticing everyone smiling happily.
"Let me put up my request, son." Alan nodded hearing this from John .
"Try to pull our Williams along with you. I know it's a lot to ask you, as you are in a far more advanced learning level than him, but I want him to try and absorb as much as he can. Don't let him drag you down either. Allocate time for your personal training and studies. Assist him only when needed.
He's like you, preferring to work alone and in his own way. But unlike you, he's too proud to discuss things he doesn't understand, wasting time trying to solve problems on his own."
"I believe he might open up to you since you're both the same age. He's nearing his 10th birthday in a few months. I want you both to go out, play, have fun, do all the silly things kids do at your age. Make new friends, learn as much as you can, and most importantly, my child, I want you both to enjoy your time as kids. Once you grow up, you can never get this time back again."
Everyone nodded, agreeing with his wisdom.
"I will do my best, Grandpa John," he nodded again, displaying a determination so palpable that others wondered if he was truly a child of Williams' age.
"And, my boy, Williams is quite capable of handling things on his own. He's a strong young man for his age. Just watch out for him and try not to let him do something he can't handle," John concluded.
Alan smiled and agreed readily.
William came back with few manuals in him arms and presented it to John.
You can let Alan study it for a couple of days. He is also aspiring to be an Adventurer, John informed Williams.
Woah..... Al you and I both are joining the Acadamy together then! Willians was genuinely happy. Alan noded happily. Yes I turned 10 couple of months ago. And grandpa John here told me you will also be 10 in a few months. So we are going to Acadamy together I hope, he looked at John for confirmation.
Alan knew that the Acadamy's entrance test were held only once a year. anyone less that 12 years of age were not allowed in. If the timings of the entrance was before Williams 12th year then there will be a problem.
Understanding Alan's concern John smiled. "The entrance for the Acadamy usually will be held after the winter. That is 6 months from now. By then Williams would have entered his 10th birth year. There will be no hindrance for both of you to start your Acadamy together.
Both Alan and Williams looked at each other and smiled happily.
"William, tomorrow, give Alan a tour of the mansion and the estate to help him get familiar with the place. You can both start exploring outside the estate from the day after.
Alan, I know you usually wake up early, but try to sleep in tomorrow since you're still recovering," John advised. Alan nodded in agreement.
"Helen, we've reserved a two-story house for you. It is right next to the mansion. You can set up a healing hall or use it as a personal store for herbs and medicinal ingredients," John continued.
Helen beamed with gratitude and expressed her thanks. "I would indeed like to set up a healing hall. For now, I'll treat anyone from your estate, all of your family members and friends. I prefer not to going public as of now; my age and priorities are different now, especially guiding these two grandsons of mine," she said, looking at the two kids sitting there smiling widely.
John's family was truly grateful; having Helen, a once-renowned healer, teach their son was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
"Thank you, Helen," John beamed with happiness.
