Remembrance: Part 1

"Ani I'm so tired so I'm sleeping", said Cho and went to her room.

"I should complete the remaining work of the assignment", said Ani and brought the laptop from her room. Ani completed her assignment by the late evening and then started studying since it has been many days since she has studied last. She studied for four hours and then went to the bed.

Taking her phone from the table there she opened her Instagram account . She saw so many pending requests but she didn't accept any as she wasn't familiarize with anyone. She then opened her class group chatbox where everyone was talking about Jun.

"Did you saw that handsome guy who took that witch out of the auditorium", a girl texted.

"They were in the same school"  said the other.

"Are they in relationship?", typed the other girl. "Wish we could be in relation", murmured Ani seeing that message.

"Don't joke. The girl is like a kid. There's no way this Prince charming guy can be with her", typed the other.

Ani got raged on seeing such comments. She closed her phone and closed her eyes. After sometime she fell to sleep.

After spending a few days in college, the classes now become regular. Assignment submissions and ppt presentation is also done. It's Thursday and Ani is upset. Cho and Tae knows the reason of her unhappiness. It's the lunch time and after a week she is going to meet with Jae and Dohwa

"Ani sorry I was so busy in my classes", said Dohwa.

"Same here Ani", said Jae."Ani tomorrow we will also come".

"No you both should study. Don't worry about me", said Ani with a smile.

"Ani you're friend cum sister so I've to be there with you", said Do.

"Same here Ani. One study will not affect us will study more hours to compensate that", said Jae and looked at her. "Btw has Jun talked with you?"

"No we last talk on this Monday", said Ani.

"Ani I've no classes after lunch so I can be with you today", said Dohwa.

"It's good then because today I've classes till 4", said Jae.

" I will meet you Ani after classes got over", said Jae and went away from there.

"Ani do you wanna eat something?", asked Dohwa.

"Ramen", said Ani.

Dohwa bought Ramen noodles from the cafeteria. "Ani where's Tae and Cho?"

"They've some work in the faculty", replied Ani while eating noodles.

"Ani I've heard that Jun is recommended by a professor to go to the US for studies", said Dohwa looking at her.

"Really....but I don't think he will go. If he would Jae would've told us", said Ani and sipped the soup from the bowl.

"Jae is also leaving the hostel", said Dohwa.

"Why?", asked Ani.

"His parents are shifted here. So he will live with them together in Jun's house", said Dohwa.

"Oh...then a new roomie will come in your dorm", said Ani looking at him. Dohwa nodded at her. They were done eating and there was complete silence between them.

Ani is feeling sad remembering that on this day his father gave her a a beautiful dress but she hasn't had that dress. It's in her house where she didn't go for last 2 years.

"Dohwa I've some work in my department...see you later", said Ani and got up from the chair.

"Should I come with you?", asked Dohwa.

"No thanks Dohwa....I might get late...thanks for the Ramen", said Ani and walk away from there.

She actually lied to Dohwa. She is going to her home. Ani took her bicycle and left for her house. It would take one and a half hour to reach her home by the cycle.

While riding she was still thinking of her dad.

"Dad I'm coming....only 30 minutes and I'll reach home", murmured Ani and started peddling fast. She was crossing the small road when a car crossed across her and stopped before her. She backed herself when someone came out of the car and it was Jun.

"Jun.....wha..t..are you do....", murmured Ani.

"Why are you here? Did you come here on this cycle?", asked Jun looking at her.

"I was....",

"Are you going to your home? Come with me", said Jun.

"Thanks but I'll go myself...", said Ani.

"Since the road is small I'm parking the car nearby...wait for me", said Jun and get into his car and drove to the nearby parking.

After sometime he came there and saw Ani was waiting for him.

"Let's go then", said Jun. He took cycle from her and told her to sit behind him and hold him tightly.

"I will go by foot. You can ride this", said Ani. "What are you saying just sit behind him and hold him tightly", Ani said in her mind.

"Why? Are you afraid to ride with me", asked Jun and gestured her to sit behind him.

Ani sat behind him. Jun puts her hands on his waist and started peddling. After an hour they reached there. Ani's eyes filled with tears but she controlled them.

"Thanks for dropping me here....you should go now", said Ani.

"Hey I didn't come here to drop you. When you went to Daegu no one came here. My dad and I came here to lock the home so keys are with me. Without keys you can't go inside", said Jun showing her the keys.

"I just want to look at it from outside", said Ani.

"Looking it from outside would never lessen your pain. Living all alone by yourself doesn't vanish the pain you've carried inside you since the day you lost uncle", said Jun and opened the gate.

"Come", said Jun looking at her held her small hand in his and they went inside the house.

Ani went inside her father's room. It was same as it was two years ago. At the bed side there was her father and mom's photo.

She took that in her hand and said," Mom dad forgive me to be here so late. I miss you so much when I went to college I saw so many parents came with their children. Wish you would be there with me. I'm blessed to have Soo and Woo hyung who always support me".

Ani looked around the room and it was all dirty. She started cleaning the room. After an hour she came out of the room. She saw Jun was sitting at the couch in the hall.

"Can you stand up? I want to clean this area. You can rest in father's room. I've cleaned that", said Ani.

"Let me help", said Jun.

"No you don't know how to do these things", said Ani with a smile.

Jun went to the room and looked around. He opened the drawer of a table which was beside the bed.

There he found a box. Jun remembered something. When he was 15 years old he visited Ani's home to meet Ani as she was in the hospital for more than a week. She was then sleeping in her room so he thought to meet her father. He went to his room but he was busy with something so he asked curiously that what's this box. Seeing Jun Ani's father told him to come inside.

"Son come in. You know.....I love Ani more than my life. About this box it's Ani's mom's belongings", said Park Sungi.

He opened the box and there was a ring and a pendant.

"Uncle it's beautiful", said Jun.

"My Ani is growing so fast. My wife always said that she will give this to the man who will make our Ani happy. I don't know why I'm telling these things to you", said Sungi.

The flashback ended. Jun opened that box and the ring and pendant was still inside that box. Apart from that there was a letter too. Jun opened it and start reading. After reading he closed the box and put the box in its place.

He laid down on the bed and fell asleep. It's almost 5 pm when his sleep broke down. "I slept this long", murmured Jun. He came out of the room and looked for Ani. Hall was cleaned but Ani wasn't there. He went upstairs to her room. He was about to enter when he saw Ani has held a beautiful dress in her hands and only staring at it.

He thought not to disturb her and came to the living hall. He called his father and told him that he and Jae will be with Ani today. He has brought her to home which she has visited after two years so don't worry about them.
