I'm not what you think I am....

"...and they live happily ever after..." *sighs*

Why do stories always have happy ever after while I'm not. I'm not bitter in anyways but I'm not a fan of happy ever after. Don't judge me.

"Rai! Aren't you supposed to go to work?"

"Yeah! I'll be down in a minute!"

My name is Rai Wei. Yup! Very weird but that is me. I'm 25 years old and working in a call center industry as one of supervisor of the team. Favorite color is black. Very not ladylike. Single.

I'm not the hopeless romantic or sad girl type. I did have a love life way back 3 years ago but that doesn't bother me anymore. I think I moved on.

I'm also very much an introvert so you can count my friends with your hands. Too much about me and I need to go to work.

As I go to work, I always think about fantasy and other impossible stuff maybe because of the books that I read.

**While at work**

"Ms. Rai, here are the score of your team. Good job as always." said my boss with a smile as always.

"Thank you, sir." Welp! Hard work pays off I guess?

"Rai, how about you join us for a drink tonight? It's Friday night. There is no work tomorrow and at least enjoy for a while."

"Sir John, I'm not sure I can make it tonight. I have other plans." I really don't have plans. Just lazy to go out.

"Why? going on a date?"

Whoah!!! Did he just say one of the forbidden word? D-A-T-E?

"Hahaha! Sir are you joking? Me? On a date? Not a great idea." It's the worst idea ever!

"Then join us. You know what I'll pick you up on your work station later by 5pm. Ok?" And just like that my boss walks away.

It's not like I don't like to mingle but I just don't want to go.

Time flies so fast its already 5pm. Obviously my boss picked me up with my other co workers and went to the bar.

"Sir, I really don't drink. Can I just have a bottle of juice?" I asked my boss because I have alcohol intolerance and I really get drunk with just a small amount.

"No, I ordered you this bottle so drink." WTF are you saying?

"Sir, please I just want to drink juice" as I pushed the bottle away from me.

"No, Rai. Drink" my boss insisted so I don't have much choice. I'll try to drink as little as I can.

As time goes by I got drunk. I got dizzy and I even puked in one of the ice bucket on the table. One of my co workers saw how drunk I was and offered me a ride home. I just agreed as I no longer know what I am doing.

When I got home, my aunt took me and laid me to bed.

"Young lady, this is the first time I saw you drunk."

"Auntie, I'm no longer young. I'm old enough and I can take care of myself *hic*"

"Take care of yourself? Look at you." My aunt looks so worried as she tries to help me change my clothes. "You know what Rai, its good to be drink sometimes but I hope its not like this." I tried to look at her and I can really tell how worried she was maybe because its the first time she saw me like this. I held her hands and really wanted to apologize but out of dizziness I flopped in the bed. "See what I mean." she said.

"I know I'm sorry." I placed my fingers in my temples trying to massage them, my head started to hurt.

"I'll make something warm for you to sober you up. Just lay in bed and don't do unnecessary movements that can make you even more dizzy." Aunt placed my blanket on top of me and walked out of the room.

I tried to sleep while waiting for her but I can't. I sat beside my bed and checked on the table beside it. All I saw was the book I was reading earlier but I noticed a paper was underneath it.

This was not here before? I reached out for the paper to check on it but all I saw was foreign language on it.

It read: 另一个旅程等着你.

"Huh? I don't remember having this?" I checked the table but quite struggling because of my hang over. Then I saw an unfamiliar black book with no title. I flipped over the cover of the page and on that one page it a single sentence was on it.

故事现在开始

"What?" As I flipped through it there are just blank pages on it.

"When did I get this book?" but as I was about to close it there was a heavy cloud in my room. I panicked when I saw it but thinking that I'm just hallucinating because of how drunk I was.

I tried to scream for help but no words are coming from my mouth. I ran to the door but tripped and blacked out.

*muffled voices*

What are those voices? I can't understand them.

*muffled voices*

As I opened my eyes, I saw a group of men in white robes. They are whispering with each other but I cannot understand them. I suddenly rised from the bed and started to question them.

"Who are you? Where am I? Did you kidnapped me? Please I still have a long life ahead and I have my auntie. I have my friends...and... I..." I looked at them with confused faces. I begun to check on the room. It was big and white with large antique windows around them. The room was serene and beautiful but I know this was not my home and just stood in the bed that looks like antique. "What are you staring at? Can you answer my questions?"

I started protesting but all of them ran away from me but what's worse the draw their swords in front of me and I generally panicked. "What are you doing? I'm not a bad guy. Don't want to be dead yet." I started crying out of fear of what is happening. All I know is that I got drunk, I saw the book and... yeah! the book. I saw the book in my hands and started scanning it but still no words are written just the "故事现在开始". I opened the page in front of the gentlemen and pointed on the characters.

"Sorry I don't know what is happening and I don't know what is this. Can you translate this for me? I don't speak foreign language so I don't know if you can understand me?"

No one answered and they just looked puzzled and started whispering with each other. This is hopeless.

I tried to observe them maybe I can understand them with their actions but another gentleman with long black hair in white clothes came in the the room. He is tall and very fair white skin, red lips and very good looking. As he approach me, he pull out his sword to much my horror. He stood in front of the bed I was in and started speaking with his somewhat low and gentle voice.

"你叫什么名字?" he said.

"I'm sorry but I cannot understand you." he looked so puzzled with what I am saying so I started to gesture my sentence. He then gets closer and held my hands tight. "Ouch! You are hurting me mister." I struggled hard trying to free my hands but his grasp is too strong with just his one hand. When I can no longer struggle, he lift my chin and suddenly kissed me. *Gasp*

With shocked I kicked him but blocked my legs.

"Hey! who told you you can do that?! I'm not easy to get sir!"

"I can understand you." I got startled and stared at him. "I asked you what is your name?" he asked in gentle voice.

Still in shock I answered him trembling "My name is Rai."

"My name is Lei Jingyi"

"Ahmm.. ok Mr. Lei. I'm know it seems strange but I'm not from here"

"Are you sure? I doesn't seem like it." I begun to look at him with more puzzled look with what he said.

"I'm sorry but I'm serious. I'm not from here" he exclaimed with deep breath and looked at me with somehow fierced looked. He then freed my hands and stepped back.

"Can you explain yourself? Look at yourself." Myself? I saw a mirror beside the room and I walked in front of it.

To my surprise. This is not me! I touched my faced while looking at the mirror. This is not me and this is not my body.

I have long black hair with deep black eyes. I adorned black clothes with red lining. My skin is fairly white and I'm not a little shorter from my original body. I looked at myself in the mirror more puzzled than ever.

"I...I don't know how I got here please. This is not me. I don't know anything."

Everything feels real for me but if I'm still drunk I wanted to wake up now.

Jingyi approached me and started to look at me from head to toe. "If you really can't remember anything? Then you don't know what sorcery you have done?"

Wait? Me? Sorcery? What is he saying now. It's the modern world. Oh! Wait. I guess I'm wrong. I'm still dreaming.

"Sorry Mr. Lei but I really don't know what you are talking about."

He approached me even more and started to stare at me while I can't look directly into his eyes.

"Based on your reactions, it really seem you don't know who you are. Let me ask you? Are you or do you know the black warrior and shaman from Qing mountain?"

"Wait, I don't know what you are saying and I'm not from Qing mountain. I'm from the city called Sheshou"

"I never heard of the city but I still cannot prove your innocence."

One of the gentlemen inside the room approached Jingyi and bowed before him "Young master, what should we do then?"

Jingyi glanced at me and faced the man "We'll bring her to Qing mountain and check her innocence"

"Who should accompany her, young master?"

"I will accompany her together with 2 other. We'll leave tonight."

After Jingyi's announcement all of the gentlemen started to whisper with each other again.

Jingyi faced me again telling me to prepare for the journey and left the room and all of the men followed him outside. Now I'm all alone in the room.

I started to question and banged my head in the wall. Then someone appeared on the door. "You know it hurts to bang your head on the wall maybe try something more harder."

As I looked at the door, a man in white clothes approached with tied long hair and a sword on his waist. Another man stepped in with the same clothing but with more reserved looks.

"I'm Xue and that is Yawen. We'll be accompanying you to Qing mountain." he then bowed down before me.

"I'm Rai and I'm not from here." much of my frustration I sat on a nearby chair and started to ask them. "What is Qing mountain by the way?"

"The mountain from the west is beautiful but it is filled with shamans who practices forbidden magic."

"And? I am accused?" they both looked at me with disbelief.

"Ms. Rai, you are found by the river in the boundary of our area and Qing mountain. The path is a dangerous one and almost no one gets part through it." Xue explained.

"So when did you found me?"

"It's almost a week a ago. Young Master Jingyi brought you here and ordered tight security on this room in case you woke up and use sorcery."

"But I didn't. All I know is that from the other side of the world I was drinking. Found an unknown book..." then I remember the book. I checked on the book that I was holding all this time and additional characters was written which I cannot understand. I asked Xue if he can understand it and told me it documented what happened from the time that I woke up in this world.

"That's strange." I said. "I didn't wrote anything on it." I scratched my head as more questions are filled in my head.

"Maybe it's because of the magic you possess" Yawen said. I looked at Yawen but he immediately averted his gaze on me.

Jingyi entered the room and told us that we need to go now. We all headed outside with 3 horses waiting.

"Rai will ride with me. Xue and Yawen will be riding on the other horses." Both Xue and Yawen rode the horses and headed first. Jingyi escorted me to ride the horse and we followed the two.

After a few hours of riding we stopped near a city that looks almost a ghost town with only few people outside.

"We'll take a rest here and continue to journey tomorrow." Jingyi instructed.

We went to an inn and got 2 rooms. We then headed down the inn to get some food. While waiting, Jingyi asked me "What do you remember before you woke up?"

"I just remember being in my room waiting for my aunt to make me something since I was drunk." I answered.

"Then?" Jingyi asked.

"I woke up and everything happened." I continued. Jingyi frown as he never get answers from me.

"That is all you remember?"

"Yeah, that is what I remember. Nothing more, nothing less."

Food was served on our table and we started to eat. In the middle of our dinner we hear a voice of a man shouting for help.

"Help! Please help me!" he was rushing inside the inn when suddenly a black figure entered.

Jingyi and the two boys draw their swords ready to fight the black figure. As the figure approached us, Jingyi swings his sword and cut a part of the figure. Xue and Yawen followed and tried to subdue the figure but as they approached a red ritual circle appeared in front of them and pushed them back. Jingyi started to chant and used magic against the black figure.

I hid behind the tables and tried to approached Xue and Yawen who are unable to stand because of the force.

But as I approached them I heard a voice of a woman whispering to me. "Recite this for me.... recite this for me..." I heard her saying as I stared blank.

"What?" I asked her. Xue looked at me confused.

"Recite this for me...recite this for me..." the voice continued.

"I don't know what you are saying!" I exclaimed.

"Ms. Rai? Are you ok?" Xue asked.

I can no longer understand what Xue is saying as the voice if the woman keeps getting louder in my head and it feels somehow painful but the last thing I heard from her is "I will borrow your body." I felth chills through out my body and felt a strong sensation invading my body. As I dropped down in the groud because of the pain Xue approached me.

"Ms. Rai?" Xue shaked me.

Something or someone controlled my body and immediately stood up. Xue looked at me in horror as he see my eyes turned red. I pointed at the black figure that Jingyi is trying to push with his magic and started reciting

"解除你体内的诅咒,让自己在痛苦中解脱"

Yawen shouted "Young Master! Look out!" and Jingyi dropped down. A strange light struck the blacked figure and exclaimed in pain slowly turning it to a ordinary man. As it changed back to its original figure the man became unconscious and fell on the ground.

I also felt weak and started fumbling. I regained my own control to my body and looked at Jingyi.

He approached me and asked me in somewhat angry tone. "What did you do?"

I looked at my surrounding to see Xue and Yawen staring at me in horror. I got confused of what is happening and just answered Jingyi "I'm not what you think I am..."
