Fear

He went back over to his closet door and stared at it for a while. He was still worried about what he would find. But he managed to put his hand on the knob and he pulled. At first he didn't see anything but he noticed something in the corner of the closet.

'Mom!!'

The closer he got the clearer he could see and he was able to tell that it was his mother standing in the corner. When he got closer he stepped on some sort of liquid and the smell of metal started to fill his nose.

'Please.... not her. Anyone but her. PLEASE!!'

He didn't know who he was talking to or who would hear his thoughts but that was the only thing being repeated in his head. As the tears started to form in his eyes he saw that his mother started to move.

'Yes that makes sense. She is the one who killed dad. Now we can both live our lives together without anymore worries!'

His mom started to turn around to look at him. Madd started to get tears in his eyes because he thought that she had already left him. He went up to hug her but stopped just before he hugged her. He looked up at her face because he was now close enough where he could see the defining features of his mother. But he couldn't find any of them. All he saw was a mangled face with claws marks in every possible space. It was impossible to figure out if that thing was really his mother but Madd assumed it was based on the body shape of the thing. He at least got to see the face of his father before he died but his mom was different now. All that could be seen was mangled flesh and bones twisted in all sorts of angles making any former shape of the face unrecognizable. The only thing that gave him a real clue was the messy blonde hair he had always seen on top of his mothers head.

'.....no. WHY?! Why did that thing also get you? Am I next? I guess I'm okay with that because mom is already gone I don't have anything else to live for anyways.'

After thinking that, Madd just stood there as tears streamed down his face while he stared at his faceless mother that was starting to slowly approach him. His mind at this point was almost completely broken with only the slightest microscopic bit still having hope this wasn't real.

But just as his mother was about to grab him, someone pulled Madd away from the closet and slammed the door. Madd had no idea who could have done that or why they would want to save him but he looked to see who it was anyway.

As soon as he saw who the person was his mood took a 180 degree turn. He saw his mother smiling at him and her eyes brightly shining like she just found an object she had lost and been looking for for years.

"I finally found you! We don't have much time. We need to leave right now before anything else happens." Madd was so relieved to hear his mother's voice once again. But the only thing different is that she sounded extremely worried but also loving. She was obviously trying to distract Madd from whatever was going on. It worked for a second until a loud noise came from the closet.

*BANG*

*BANG BANG*

*BANG BANG BANG BANG*

The banging sound got louder and faster as time went by. Madd saw that his mom immediately started to get worried and she turned to him very quickly.

"We need to leave now. I'm sorry I can't explain anything else for now but you'll just..."

*BANG*

This bang was louder than any other one. Madd looked over to the door and saw that there are indents everywhere on the door and an especially big hole in the middle of the door. But for some reason the door appeared that it was being held down by something. Madd focused more on the door and could see a very faint shadow that covered the whole door. That shadow appeared to be blocking the door from opening.

Madd looked over to his mother and saw her face was a lot more pale then it was just a second ago.

"We..leave..now!"

Madd heard his mother weakly say that but before he could say anything his mom pulled him out the the room. When they got out to the den Madd saw that all the furniture was now scattered around all over the floor and it looked like everything was thrown around by someone with a lot of strength and rage.

Madd continued to look around the room while his mother was pulling him to the door. He once again saw that dark shadow covering different parts of the room. Something appeared to be trapped in the inside of it because he could see ripples form on the shadows.

While Madd was looking at everything he looked one last time at his bedroom door.

*BAMMM*

Madd started to get very scared and anxious because that sounded like a door being smashed open. He quickly looked up at his mom and saw that she had blood running from her eyes, nose, mouth, and ears. He started to panic on the inside but he didn't want to show it on the outside because his mom was still running with everything she had and she looked very determined to leave the house.

*BANG BANG BANG*

Madd started to hear banging on his bedroom door and he saw indentions appear all over the door. He also noticed that another shadow was blocking the door. While he is about to reach the door to leave for some reason he looked down at his mother's feet. He noticed that there were three rings of shadow on the ground following his mother who was the middle of them.

'What's going on?'

While Madd was thinking about everything that was happening his mother, Michelle, was running with her life to the door.

'As long as I can save Madd everything will be fine and I will be fine leaving him to them.'

Her eyes started to tear up but it wasn't noticeable because of the blood that was also coming from her eyes.

"Madd, mommy is going to take you to a very nice place when we get out of here."

Madd looked back up to his mother's face and she was looking at him with a very loving smile. He knew this face because she always made it when she saved him from being beat by his father and she took the beatings instead. He didn't know why but he had a very bad feeling in his heart.

'What is going to happen?!'
