"Could you drop me off at Alex's restaurant instead? Let me see if he will hire me back."
"Alright. No problem."
They drove to the restaurant and Ethan made to come down with her.
"No. There's no need for you to come down, Ethan. You should go on to the office. I've taken enough of your time already."
"Are you sure? I don't mind, you know."
"I'm sure. Thanks." Chloe said firmly. She needed to stop being so dependent on Ethan. Now that she could work and earn some money, she had to start thinking about how to stand on her own two feet.
Tanya and Blake were not around, but Mr. Alex was more than happy to see Chloe and told her that she could resume her job the next day.
"Wow! I can't thank you enough for this. I was very sure that I would be turned away."
"Nonsense." Mr. Alex said, waving away her gratitude.
"I know a good waitress when I see one. Besides, it is not your fault that you were not fine. I'm glad you're okay now. Just come in as soon as you’re ready."
