Blood In The Darkness | Chapter 24

While the chants are going on, Dante looks confused and says "Hey, the fuck is all this, if you have the plan to try and kill me, I swear to god Aaron. Don't fucking around." Aaron's body glows bright red as the power goes out as he yells. He hits the floor as the glass box opens. Renesmae walks out of it and looks around. Dante looks at Renesmae in shock and breaks the glass with Eryx. He runs up and grabs her while saying "I missed you so much and it's been way too long." Renesmae backs up scared. Aaron still lying on the floor as his body twitches. She looks at Aaron, then at Dante and backs up all the way to the wall. Dante says "Whoa hey Renesmae, It's me, Dante. Do you not remember me? Do you at least remember Aaron? A demon named Hunter shot you in the stomach to get to me after he carved his name Olivia's stomach. Here if you come here I will show you. Please." Renesmae says "No. I don't know you." Dante gets mad and bursts through the metal door with Eryx and walks out as he starts to cry thinking he'll never get her back." Renesmae walks over to Aaron and helps him up. "Dante, you have to stay with her for..her memories to come back," he says in a weak voice as he hits the floor and passed out. Renesmae looks at Dante scared out of her mind. "Please don't hurt me" Dante looks at her and says "I would never hurt you. Not in a million years." Dante walks over and heals Aaron. Aaron gets up and walks out of the room to go see Rose and Winter. Leaving Dante and Renesmae alone in the room. Dante looks at her and tells her "Four years ago that man right there, his name is Aaron, brought you back to life after Hunter killed you." Renesmae looks at the doorway then back at him "I'm sorry but I don't remember anything. There has been a girl taking care of me for the most part. She feeds me like 4 times a week and gives me cookies on Saturdays." Dante looks at her "That's bad!" Renesmae looks at Dante with a mad face "We don't have much she treats me good! She does eat every day but always saves the cookies for me always. Last Saturday they were pumpkin cookies they were so good...You shouldn't judge her, She does her best to take care of me." she says as she walks out of the room downstairs to the dock outside n sits on it looking at her reflection. Dante says "You really don't remember all the good times we've had. All the times we've kissed, we've cuddled, even when we had sex? You don't remember any of it at all?" Dante starts to cry and drops to his knees and says "I should've never let you out of my sight. Why the fuck did I leave." Renesmae turns around and feels bad and gives him a hug "I don't know who you are but I feel bad, But I must get back to my sister" Winter runs out of the house and to Renesmae. She screams at Winter "Devil child!" Winter stops running and sits on the doc and starts to cry as Renesmae screams at her. Aaron hears Winter cry and so does Rose so they both come outside to see what's going on. Renesmae backs up as far as she can while she keeps screaming calling Winter a devil child. Dante grabs Renesmae and tells her "Hey hey relax! She's nice. She won't hurt you all right. It's okay." Renesmae looks down at Winter as Aaron picks her up "Shh it's going to be okay." Aaron says as he looks at Rose, and Renesmae looks at Winter. "That's the one that killed my sister's husband!" Aaron looks at Renesmae "No she didn't, She's just a baby" Aaron walks over to Renesmae and gets closer to her "See she won't hurt you, She's just a little baby" Renesmae lightens up a little bit and looks into Winter's bright blue eyes. "Can I hold her?" Aaron looks at Rose and then back at her. "Yeah" He gives Winter to her, As she holds her she looks up at Aaron "You're right, She is just a baby" He smiles "See I told you". Renesmae smiles as she sits on the dock and holds her. "I wish I had a baby."
