She's a Da-Silva

'Is she out of her mind!? Why walk in the middle of the road, I could have killed her for goodness sake!? Akin wondered angrily about the lone figure walking aimlessly in front of his car. He blared his horn very hard but instead of the figure moving to the side of the road, she just stopped for some seconds before she fainted right in front of his car.

"What the fuck is this?... Is this some kind of trick that they want to use in eliminating me?..." He wondered aloud before disagreeing with the thought. "No, it couldn't be. If they wanted me dead I would have been dead right inside the office when the death messenger visited."

He stayed inside his car for a while, waiting to see if the person lying in front of his car would eventually get tired of lying in the rain and move out of his way but she remained motionless, she didn't even twitch a finger.

Akin got out of his car and checked around to see if anybody was lurking around to jump him. Who knows if she was used as bait to rob people?

He hurriedly moved closer to her when he was sure there was no one around, the street was dark and deserted. He squatted to look at her closely. She must be from a rich home, he noted when he saw she had on her wrist a diamond-encrusted wristwatch.

This part of the city is dangerous, what was she doing walking aimlessly here?... Was her car snatched?' He wondered when he noticed that she wasn't with her purse and there were no shoes on her feet.

He picked up her wrist to check for a pulse and immediately dropped it when he felt a rush of memories, obviously hers washed over him.

"She's a Da-Silva!?" He exclaimed loudly to himself and immediately took a step back from where she was lying. She's far from home, what's she doing here!? Of all the cars that have passed her by, why must she lay unconscious in front of his car?

If not for the memories of what happened to her in the past three hours that just washed over him, he wouldn't have believed her falling unconscious in front of his car was a coincidence. He would have thought Mama Silver already knew that his dad tried to kill Emma and the part he took in helping him

Omolade moaned and began to mumble incoherent words before hugging her knees close to her chest, obviously to keep warm.

'She's cold. Don't just stand there, help her for goodness sake!' Akin could swear he heard his uncle's voice scolding him and he immediately bent and lifted Omolade in his arms.

She was shivering really badly and tried to burrow into him, seeking warmth. He carried her to his car and settled her into the front seat, reclining the chair backward to make her comfortable. Then he called home to inform his housekeeper to prepare the room beside his and a warm bath for his guest

He wishes he could remove her sodden silk shirt and trouser pants but he couldn't do that. It would be invading her privacy even if he's saving her life. Instead, he turned on his car ac and adjusted the knob to blow warm air in her direction.

When he arrived home, he breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his uncle was not waiting for him in the gazebo as he usually does. The weather is bad and he can't have a sick old man on his hands right now that he's dealing with the fraternity.

The maids were already waiting and helped him hold the door open when he carried Omolade out of his car. He entered the living room and made his way straight up the stairs to the bedroom.

"Get the doctor now!" He heard his uncle command towards a maid before hurrying after him, trying to keep up with his long strides. In the bathroom, Akin gently placed Omolade into the warm bath water clothes and all, not knowing what to do next.

"We'll take it from here, ''the old housekeeper that has taken care of him for as long as he could remember said, assuring him with a smile.

"Nana are you sure?..." He asked worriedly. "She's unconscious and might slip into the water if you take your eyes off her even for a second. You'll need at least two maids to help out and you have to..."

"Akin let Nana take care of it. We'll be right at the entrance to lend a hand if needed" Pa Folly interrupted. He and Nana had smiles on their faces while watching him care for someone, a woman at that.

Omolade had still not woken up by the time Akin carried her to bed wrapped in a towel where the women were able to dress her in his sweatshirt. After the in-house doctor left, Akin and his uncle sat down, looking at her for a while before they decided to go have their dinner.

"What are you going to do about her?... She's a Da-Silva!" Pa Folly asked some few minutes into their meal

"Trust you to know who she is just by smelling her perfume" Akin replied his uncle smiling before he answered the question he asked. "I can't do anything except when she wakes up... Maybe tell the driver to drop her off at home or wherever she wants to go"

"I'm happy to see that side of you." Pa Folly said

"That side?..."

"That side that actually cares about someone. The opposite sex! apart from me and Badru group of companies." Pa Folly looked into his nephew's eyes, emphasizing on the words 'opposite sex'

"How do you know I care?... I just did what a normal human being would do you know

"What a normal human being would do is to take her to the nearest hospital instead of bringing her to his home..."

"You don't approve of what I did?... How I brought her here" Akin asked with a frown

"Oh, I'm happy you did what you did... This is the first time you ever brought a woman home... I'm elated in fact." Pa Folly laughed. "I've never been this happy in a very long time." He said further and stood up from the table.

"You're elated even?..." Akin asked his uncle with a questioning look on his face wondering how he could be this happy just because he rendered a helping hand to a woman that needed it. "I just hope you're not getting ideas in your head"

"What an elder sees while sitting, a child might not see it even if he climbs a very tall tree." Pa Folly said an adage and stood from the table, whistling happily as he walked away
