Lover's spat

When Emma got Leo's message she wanted to laugh so bad but couldn't because Nicholas was sitting with her, pretending to be busy on a file but Emma could feel his eyes on her, watching her work and she had no idea why.

Her heart warmed and swell with love at how Leo had been desperately trying to make her talk to him. She also wanted them to talk so badly, but not just yet. She already said she wouldn't make it easy on him and aside from that, the Salvadorian Empire is not where they should be having their lover's spat.

So she just ignored his message and carried on with her work. After some time, a lady peeped inside the room to deliver a message to her from Paul

"Miss Da-Silva, PA Paul said you Should spare him ten minutes of your time if you could?"

"Yeah, sure! I'll be right there" Emma replied and told Nick to excuse her, she would be right back.

Paul went straight to the point as soon as Emma entered his office.

"Miss Da-Silva. I know you're busy right now but please talk to him. I need him to concentrate on work but it seems he can't unless you talk to him."

"Okay, thank you, sir!" Emma replied and immediately left Paul's office. She was embarrassed and didn't even pretend like she couldn't understand the 'him' that he was referring to was Leo.

"The CEO is expecting you," Leo's secretary said with a smile immediately Emma entered into his reception area.

He deliberately went through PA Paul. He knew I would not be able to tell him no. She thought to herself as knocked softly on his door before she pushed it open. She could see he was truly finding it difficult to work because he was just standing, looking through the large window with his hands shoved deep into his pocket

"Miss Da-Silva, I sent you a message a while ago and..."

"Leo please cut the bullshit, I'm so busy right now, something you should also be doing"

Leo exhaled

"But I can't! I tried to work but couldn't. How could you expect me to be able to concentrate and work when you refused to talk to me?..."

"Yeah right..." Emma replied and rolled her eyes upward at him

"Emma I'm sorry!..."

"You're sorry!... You left me all by myself Leo! I fell asleep on the balcony waiting for you to come back, wearing only a hoodie with nothing under. You left me all by myself with a strange man!"

"He isn't a strange man..."

"I don't care! He is a stranger to me! You asked us to talk. We barely even started when you left in anger. You couldn't even call to inform me you won't be coming back. The door wasn't locked all through the night. I thought you just went for a drive to clear your head, so I waited for you till I fell asleep. If I had known you won't be coming back I would have locked the door at least...

What if he suddenly goes crazy after he sees you leave!? What if he comes inside and sees me asleep half naked!?... What would have happened to me... Rape!?... Have you thought of that!?"

The scenario she painted also got him worried... 'Yes, what if Matt suddenly goes crazy and comes into the house?' He asked himself but immediately dismissed the idea.

'No! Matt wouldn't do such. He's been with the Salvadors for years. If he could trust Matt with his life then he could trust him with Emma too. But that doesn't excuse what he did. He acted recklessly, he knew that quite alright, that was why he was desperate for her to forgive him

"I'm sorry babe. I did not deliberately leave you by yourself. I didn't know I wouldn't be coming back. I got drunk and couldn't think straight as at then and..."

"Oh, you got drunk? Where did you sleep then?..." She asked him like she suspected he did something bad and was waiting to catch him in a lie.

"I was at the club with my friend, Chris. I slept at his house."

She looked at him for what seemed to be a long time, trying to see if he was lying to her. She finally said something positive to him when she was satisfied that he wasn't lying to her

"Okay, we'll talk about it later. Right now, I have a lot of work waiting for me with little time available." She was about to leave when his voice stopped her in her tracks.

"Babe?..."

She paused and waited for him to say what he wanted to say without looking back at him.

"You look good..." He commented and waited for her reply but Emma refused to bite. 'Nice try.' She thought to herself and smiled

"Would it be asking too much if I asked for a kiss?"

She nearly burst out laughing when she heard his next words. She wanted to give in to him because he looked like he really needed the kiss... And she needed it too, truth be told. But she remembered the promise she made to herself that she wasn't going to make it easy for him. She made her face look expressionless before she turned to talk to him

"Don't push your luck, Leo"

"A hug then?... Please, babe!... Just give me a hug so I can be able to concentrate on work." He pleaded desperately with her. His face showed his desperation and his voice sounded like he wouldn't survive if she didn't give him that hug.

She exhaled. Her resolve was already weak. If she wouldn't hug him then she also wouldn't walk out of him like she didn't care about him.

"After we talk about this, I'll give you as many kisses and hugs as you want, okay?" She said with a smile and immediately walked out of his office before she change her mind and give him more than he asked for

Even though she neither kissed nor hugged him, from her reply Leo could tell that she wasn't angry with him anymore. All has been forgiven.

He smiled happily to himself and secretly thanked Paul inside his heart for helping to break the ice. He happily sat in front of his computer and started working. Now he could concentrate on work.
