That day somehow passed, although Zane was getting on Amy’s nerves most of the time. Even now, when the office hour was literally over a few minutes ago.

“ Lily – “

“ Stop calling me that. I’m Amelia. “ Amy coldly said, trying not to lose it. She is waiting for Luke who told her that he would be picking her up at the office’s lobby.

“ But you are my Lily. How can you act like nothing happened? “ Zane could not hold it anymore. He could not believe that Amy has really moved on from ‘them’. While he, on the other hand, is still hoping to work things out with Amy.

“ Used to be, not anymore. “ Amy said, not looking at Zane who did not spare a glance from her. “ And yes, nothing happened between us. It was a long time ago so don’t expect me to be the Amelia you knew from two years ago. Every shitty thing you did to me like a shitty coward you literally changed me and I’m happy with the way I am now. So, move on. “ Luke finally arrived at the office’s lobby with his car, which made Amy relieved.

She didn’t want to have anymore conversations about what had happened between them two years ago.

“ You are going home with Luke? “ Zane asked with a controlled voice. He was trying his best not to sound mad, but looking at Luke’s face approaching Amy made him annoyed even more. Looks like he’s not wrong.

“ Hi, Mr. Noah. You are still here? “ Zane nodded insincerely, trying to be professional. Zane and Luke always stayed as colleagues, which means they never had any bonding as friends outside the workplace. They barely even spoke to each other during work time, let alone outside work time.

Zane didn’t bother to answer Luke’s question so Amy had to interfere.

“ Let’s go, Luke. I don’t want to be stuck in traffic. “ Amy said, leading their way out of the lobby. Zane remained at that same spot, watching Amy getting into Luke’s car with the most sincere smile he has ever seen in the past one month.

Lily used to smile at me that way, he said to himself.

“ Mr. Noah seemed stressed just now. Is everything okay between the both of you? “ Luke asked, while Amy was busy changing the radio channel. She preferred listening to music rather than listening to DJ’s talking all the way through although she completely understood that it was their job.

“ I’m not sure. Maybe it’s related to work? “ Amy returned the question to be safe besides honestly not feeling like talking about Zane at that moment. She was so grateful when Luke came like the savior he is, right on time, right when things were about to get heated. Luke nodded, and didn't want to discuss that colleague with them any further too.

“ I have reserved a nice restaurant that I love for our dinner tonight. I really hope you’d love it and enjoy your dinner there. “ Luke said as they were reaching somewhere near a line of fancy restaurants.

“ Are you sure this is the location? One dish here will cost a kidney, Luke! “ Luke laughed, loving Amy’s reaction at the possibility they are going to spend their night having dinner at a fancy restaurant.

“ It doesn’t matter, Amy. As tiqtoque sounds say – I will be able to earn more money but I won’t be 27 again having dinner with my favorite person. “ Luke uttered with a shy smile drawn on his face. Amy’s reaction completely changed after hearing the last sentence but she only cringed to herself because she didn’t want to be mean.

“ We’re here! “ Luke said happily, as if Amy was his child who he had brought to get a Happy Meal from McDonalds. Amy looked around, indeed he had chosen the most expensive restaurant to ever exist. At this point, Amy wonders how much the guy beside her makes per month.

Since Amy didn’t want Luke to open the car door for her, she quickly got out of the car and stood by the car, waiting for Luke.

“ You should have let me open the car door for you. “ Luke said sulkily before leading Amy into the restaurant. Amy playfully smiled, glad that she didn’t let that happen.

She really wasn’t playing when she said that she didn’t want any proposal from this guy, from any guys in fact.

“ I have ordered food based on my observations of what you like to order every time we hang out. Although it is not big of a deal, I really hope you are pleased with tonight’s dinner. “ Luke said as they sat facing each other, typical seat arrangement in romantic restaurants.

“ It really doesn’t matter, Luke. The thought that matters, I’m beyond grateful that you have planned everything for tonight. “ Amy sincerely said, but a little surprised that Luke actually took note of her preferences while they hung out together. The restaurant was very quiet, due to very few people and that almost all of the customers here are couples and are having dinner as a couple.

She could never imagine a romantic restaurant being chaotic like one of those regular restaurants where people usually have family dinner. It would be a complete mess and disaster.

“ Sir, Ma'am, your order is here. Please enjoy your dinner date. “ the waiter elegantly said while serving various kinds of dishes on their table. Amy’s jaw dropped looking at the amount of dishes Luke had ordered for their dinner.

“ We are the only one eating, Luke. Why did you order so much food? “ Amy finally asked when the waiters had left their table. Luke laughed as he loved seeing Amy acting this way.

Everything about Amy is lovely in his eyes.

“ Stop laughing, Lucas! “ Amy whispered quietly, scared if other couples might hear them.

“ Well, I wanted to see you enjoying your dinner tonight. So I ordered a lot of food so we can enjoy it together. “ Luke said, pouring some juice into Amy’s glass. Amy glared at Luke before reaching for the glass and sipped some of the juice.

Although she knows that she can definitely finish everything on the table in a matter of seconds, she still felt guilty thinking about how much money Luke must have spent on their dinner tonight. Amy was also afraid if she ever feels like she owes something from Luke for all his kindness and selfless act all this while.

“ Let’s dig in! “ Luke said, encouraging Amy since she seemed a little shy than usual. Perhaps it’s because the dinner was more fancy and unusual for her, especially that she is literally having a somewhat special dinner alone with Luke.
