Ch 20- Guardian angel

Devon and Chloe didn't have to wait for long. After a few minutes, the Receptionist walkies into the Lounge to inform them that Mr Collins just concluded his session and would be available to meet them in his office.

"Please follow me" The girl led them out of the room on the way to Mr Collins office.

"Ah my purse" They had gotten half the way when Chloe suddenly remembered she had forgotten her purse.

"Go get it, we'll be waiting here" Devon playfully tapped her head gently and told her.

The girl giggled softly then turned and ran back in the direction they had come from. Now that he was alone, he brought out his phone and hurriedly tapped away on the screen. He was trying to hastily attend to a few of his business agenda when a certain figure walked by him.

He didn't see the girl's face clearly but the perfume had drawn his attention. Devon lifted his head and turned to the direction the girl had passed, he was faced with her back.

His brows furrowed.

Gisele? What was she doing here?

The girl was oblivious of him staring at her, her feet happily danced on the floor as she walked away, he could not see her face but it was clear that she was smiling about something.

He was still looking at her when he felt a gentle tap on his shoulder.

"Do you know her?" Chloe asked smiling. Her face showed no jealousy or anxious neither did her tone carry a hint of them. She was asking like she was merely curious.

Devon shook his head "No I don't" he lied. It has been days now since he got married to Gisele but he still had not had the heart to tell Chloe, he knew she was going cry.

"Oh" Chloe nodded understanding but as she bent her head a malicious gaze flew past her eyes. She had been standing next to him for about two minutes yet he had not noticed her. She watched him as he looked at that girl walk away. Devon had never spared any other girl even a second glance but that girl was different, it could only mean he knew her but why did he lie?

Was he hiding something from her?

If he was, she had to find out!

The receptionist attention was needed at the booking section so she could not escort them anymore, she described Mr Collins office to them and walked away.

"Let's go" Chloe pulled on him as she began walking away.

Ring!

They had to stop after a few steps cause Devon's phone began ringing.

"Hello" he picked it up and answered it. The person on the phone was speaking but only Devon could hear it.

The person must have said something that he didn't like cause he frowned, Chloe saw him turn and look in the direction that that girl had gone again. It was time for her to frown too. There was really something he wasn't telling her.

"Contact Derrick and tell him to pass the message" She heard him say and cut the phone.

"Is something wrong?" She asked while searching his expression.

"Nothing's wrong let's go" Devon lied. Chloe could tell he was lying, she smiled and nodded but deep down she was bitter. Today was the first time Devon had ever lied to her and he did so in a roll.

She hated this feeling! For three years she had always been the center of his world but him starting to lie now only showed something or perhaps someone else was creeping into his life.

She had to find out or else she wouldn't be at ease.

...

"Miss are you ready for your session?"

Brenda looked up. The dejected look on her face disappeared and an elated look appeared. Hopefully she gripped on the hand off the man next to her.

"Is there an opening in the schedule now?" She asked back expectantly.

"no but you have been gifted a studio session by our exclusive VIP." The receptionist smiled back respectfully. She left Devon and rushed back to the receptionist because someone needed to book a session.

It turned out that the Person had booked an instant session for the lady whose session was rejected. It would not have been easy but surprisingly the person was holding the Golden Card!

That Golden Card could only be attained by one person. The Face of Glamour.

When Gisele was leaving, she saw Brenda still seated down with the young man. Every other girl she had left at the waiting section bhad gone, either they had had they session or were tired of waiting. Brenda was the only one left and the sun was starting to go down.

She couldn't help but feel pity for Brenda and was moved to help her book a studio session. Actually she was also testing out her new Golden card but all the same she used the card to book a session for the celebrity.

"For me?" Brenda asked with a cautious look on her face.

She had no connections with any exclusive VIP so why would that person book a session for her.

"Yes she said to tell you, you looked better without that... that dejected look on your face" The girl tried looking for a different word that wasn't that harsh, but only Gisele's words seemed to send the message better.

Brenda's eyes turned teary. She felt grateful, really grateful. She had been heartbroken that she and her manager were humiliated like this. Her session was supposed to have been in the morning with one of the minor photographers in the studio but somehow, one of Camille minions had found out about it and ended up paying the photographer to reject her offer.

Rejected by one meant rejected by all. None of the photographers were willing to take her session after that.

Erasmus online audition was closing the next day, without a quality picture her chances of getting in was not even minimal. She was not greedy, she didn't need the Front cover, she was signing up for inner pages of the Magazine but the audition steps were still the same. She thought about going to another studio but no other studio was as proficient as Glamour to give her the pictures today.

God must have seen her heart and had sent a guardian angel to her.

"She'll take the offer" Her manager answered for her.

The receptionist nodded "Okay I'll inform Mr Collins that you're ready"

Mr Collins?!

Isn't this a dream come true?
