annul the marriage

Not every rock mined out of a Jade mining ground turned out to be valuable or priceless. If by chance he gets an unfruitful mining at a period, he would still have to pay the 70:30% regardless.

After considering for a few seconds. He settled for the second offer.

"The Early booking is fine by me. Draft a decent contact and send it to my secretary, I'll sign it and get it back to you"

The Man on the screen smiled widely. He had been able to convince the money god with his offer, that was an achievement worth celebrating.

"Sure, I send it over soon. Have a nice day Mr_" he wasn't even done talking and the call was cut off. Devon went back to the documents he was signing.

"Inform Director Kelvin about the new developments. Once he sends it over, get Director Kelvin look at it then sign it before reaching out to me. If there is even a tiniest change in the clauses he just mentioned then reject the contract. Is that clear?"

"Yes Boss" Secretary Ben replied and left the room.

Now that he was alone, he picked up his phone and dialed his Grandfather's number. The phone rang for a few minutes but no one picked it up. He tried a few more times still it was the same.

A frown appeared on his face, he stared at the phone for a few seconds then dumped it on the table and went back to the documents he was signing.

The day was bright. The sun stood in the middle of the sky gracing the lands with it's light and gentle warmth. The seasons was at the end of summer the heat was gone and so were the colour green hanging on the trees, flowers were begining to loose their leaves. Now the scents of the gentle sun on dried leaves gave off an atmosphere to relax and let the stress that accompanied the heat wash away with the fall.

What a pleasant day it was to have friends huddled up with you at home, arguing over a game board or perhaps just discussing about anything.

The Montero family's house had its share of visitors. Old men the age of Grandpa Hugo and friends he had known since his youthful days.

"I can't help remembering our School days." One of them said.

"Yeah seeing all of us here really brings back those memories."

"We're seem to be missing a soul. Old man Alexander isn't here again. What is he up to these days? He has totally deserted us his friends. Sigh!"

Old man Hugo sighed too "The Old fart wouldn't even leave that little Town. Such a disloyal friend"

Actually he wasn't as sad as he sounds. There was a tinkling in his eyes as he spoke. If anything he was grateful his friend wasn't here at the moment or else he would have found out about what he was trying to hide. The Old man would throw a tantrum if he knew he had married off his Granddaughter without his permission.

It was best he didn't know now or else he would forcefully take back the girl and annul the marriage.

"Grandpa Hugo!" Secretary Jim called out

The Old man's discussion was interrupted by the call. He was going to tell his assistant to give him a few more minutes with his friends but seeing the boy's anxious look, He knew there was something urgent that had to be discussed.

"This old man has a few things to attend to, so forgive my absence" He excused himself and left with the Secretary to his study room.

When they got there, the old man took a seat on the cushion and urged Secretary Jim "Let me hear it. What has gotten you this anxious? Does it have to do with Devon?" He asked.

Secretary Jim nodded. The Old man sighed.

"Grandpa Hugo Young Master Alan is back!" The man announced hurriedly.

Surprise fleeted into the eyes of Grandpa Hugo. He had thought Devon had caused another trouble but he didn't think it was something like this. This was worst that Devon causing a few troubles. If this was true then a while lot if scruffle was bound to happy. It was like he could already see the peace and quiet he had enjoyed this far leaving through the window.

"Is that true?"

"Yes Grandpa. He arrived today and has already gone looking for Young Master Devon. I had not heard of his presence on time or I would have stopped him from going" Secretary explained.

Old man Hugo sighed once again. For a second here, he looked older than he did few seconds ago.

"I told that boy not to come back till fifteen years. Why doesn't he listen?!" He looked displeased and his tone a little bit cold still the warmth emanating from his heart could be seen in his eyes. He didn't hate whoever he was talking of.

Secretary Jim pointed out awkwardly "Grandpa... It's fifteen years already"

"really? It's been that long already?" The Old man was surprised again. He had never expected that that amount of time had passed since that incidence happened.

How time flies!

It was only but like yesterday that the Montero family had almost been torn apart from that issue. He remembers it like it was yesterday. Then it had seemed like they would never be the same again but it's been fifteen years and not only didn't they not fall apart, they had grown stronger and larger together as a family.

He was right then after all. Time really had a way of healing the deepest wounds.

But now... They were about to be faced by their mistakes of the past. He just hoped they would deal with it differently than they had done fifteen years ago. Would the healed wounds ends up reopening?

"Get him on the phone, I need to speak to him" He ordered.

Secretary Jim nodded and left the room. Leaving the Old man to his thought.

He hadn't planned for this but since it had happened, there was no point running away from it. It was best they all faced it now. Besides it was no longer a new issue, everyone involved in the case had all had fifteen years to come to terms with the truth so it should be less painful than it was then.

By the way... Fifteen years? Wasn't that when he met the little girl too?

How time really flies!

Who would have told him that the little girl would eventually get intertwined in his family like this?

It seems everything was destined from the beginning after all
