The Contest 2

"I see you won the gold medal. I didn't know you had a passion for pottery. You were more interested in drawing" He said to me casually and I loved it.

"Uh yeah the passion for drawing died when you left" I replied honestly.

"Really? Why?" He asked me.

"Yeah I had no one to show my drawings to".

"Well I'm here now" He said smiling. I didn't know what to say more like I had what to say but I didn't know how to say it.

"I missed you a lot Laila". I looked at him my mouth slightly opened because I was surprised. I missed him too, I'm pretty sure I missed him way more than he missed me.

"Laila! I've been looking all over for you!" Tony said, he looked like he was searching for a lost puppy.

"Laila, who is this?" Kevin asked me.

"I'm Tony, who are you?" Tony asked Kevin

"I'm Kevin, Kevin Russell". Kevin replied. Tony was stunned by the reply.

"Who are you to Laila?" Kevin asked Tony.

"I don't see how it's your business" Tony replied in a harsh tone.

"Just asking, I don't want a guy like you around her".

"A guy like me? Who do you think you are? How dare... "

"Enough already, Tony is my friend, he is a good guy" I said to both of them with my voice slightly raised.

"If you say so, I have to go my school bus is ready to leave. It was nice meeting you Laila" Kevin said to me.

"You too, have a safe drive". He nodded and walked away.

"I don't like him" Tony said to me when Kevin left.

"Well I do so don't make things hard for me" I replied.

"You lied to me" Tony said.

"I did? What did I lie about?" I asked him.

"You said he is more handsome than I am".

"He is".

"Pfft, I don't believe that".

"You didn't even congratulate me on my gold medal".

"Congratulations even though I knew you'd win. What was it like in there?"

"I was a bit nervous and afraid".

"You should've thought of me"

"Actually I did think of you"

"And? Did it help?" He asked looking deeply into my eyes.

"Yep, it did"

"I'm glad it did. I saw a photo booth at the entrance gate, let's go take a picture".

" Of course" I replied and he held my hand and we walked to the photo booth together.

I was happy for a lot of reasons. I was happy that I won the gold medal and most importantly, I was happy that I saw Kevin after a long time.
