Ancestor

Li Tengfei found himself in an unfamiliar place when he regained his consciousness. This was because in this place everything around him was coloured red; the shade of blood. This world had no sense of depth but Li Tengfei remained cool-headed and decided to move.

'It's better to move than to stay in the same place' he said in his mind.

Li Tengfei was roaming around, trying to find the slightest clue so as to find an exit.

"Haha, little brat, you did not disappoint me. One of my descendants actually managed to awaken a complete bloodline!"

"What? Who are you? Where are we?"

At this point, Li Tengfei was completely lost, both figuratively and literally. He had been in this weird place for an unknown amount of time and suddenly, he was now hearing voices? What was going on?

"Haha, of course, you must be confused. First let me introduce myself."

After Li Tengfei heard these words, a spirit appeared out of nowhere in front of him. The figure in front of him gave an unfathomable aura. It looked like an old man but at the same time looked like an ancient god that could suppress everything around it.

"I am Li Rongguang. I was once a powerful martial cultivator who roamed this peculiar world under the name of Ancient Emperor Li and most importantly I am your ancestor."

"I am now just a spirit that managed to live on after my 'death' and by chance, after more than 10,000 years, I found someone with a complete bloodline. This will enable me to stay with you, within your sea of consciousness and I will even be able to help you out by sharing my knowledge.

As for what this place is, this is your sea of consciousness. I pulled you in to explain these things to you.

With a pure and complete bloodline, you, Li Tengfei, are destined to carry on my legacy and become one of the most powerful experts under the heavens and with my guidance, you will be able to achieve this goal."

"Ehh... Cultivator Li Rongguang, I am slightly lost. How could me, an orphan with no past be your descendant? And what is a bloodline? Is it some sort of power in my blood?" Li Tengfei asked respectfully.

"Hey brat, I am quite in a good mood so let me give you some information.

Long ago, humans were but one of the many small species that existed in this world. There were many other kind of races in the Han universe. However only one kind could truly be called the overlord among races; the primordial beasts. They were called so because everyone thought they were made up of primordial energy, the energy at the start of the universe and it is almost non-existent now." He paused but respect could be felt from his tinge of voice.

"However, having great powers often result in many disadvantages. this was the case for the primordial beasts; they had a pitifully low rate of birth, maybe not one descendant in a trillion years! Sometimes a primordial beast would be unique and reproduce by cloning himself. This is why they had an idea to reproduce with humans as they were one of the races that were the most reproductive and aesthetically pleasing to their eyes. This is how crossbred with bloodlines appeared. They excelled in many areas but they too had limitations. They had to cultivate their body, energy, but most importantly the soul to get stronger which was as difficult as scaling the heavens.

Extensive research have concluded that a powerful body was needed to contain more blood, energy as cultivation and the soul as the core of the body. The soul influences the body and vice-versa. Only a perfect soul can mould a perfect body to have a chance to arrive at the peak where primordial beast stand. The more compatible the soul with the bloodline, the more energy one can derive from the bloodline. The soul can only be cultivated by yourself by experiencing many different things and through the searching of the truth in the laws of the universe. After many eras, almost no human is pure anymore but everyone has only an almost nonexistent trace of bloodline."

Li Rongguang explained slowly.

This means that if ever you work your *ss hard enough and manage to cultivate your soul to an extremely high level, you may be able to stand shoulder to shoulder with the primordial beasts!" he said excitedly to Li Tengfei who was shocked silly by the large amount of information.

"But why did I advance so quickly in cultivation when I started?" Li Tengfei asked confused

"This is because your body has been slightly altered by the bloodline and the life that you experienced in the streets has made your soul strong enough. You only lacked enough energy to breakthrough. All of a sudden an octagonal tower appeared before him. He did not realised when and how it was placed there. It was a majestic tower that gave off an ancient aura. It was made out of different levels. The first one was icy white, the second azure blue, the third violet, the fourth scarlet red and the fifth golden.

"Let me introduce you. This here is the tower of inheritance I specially created for those talented in lightning element and mental attacks. As the inheritor of my bloodline, you will be specially adept in those two. Each level represents a cultivation realm. Fully understanding the level means you will be unmatched within your cultivation realm."

"I can't make you stay too long and it is now time for me to leave you. Next time I will explain more things to you about the bloodline and where I come from...." The image of Li Rongguang and his voice sounded faded more and more and finally disappeared without trace.
