In search of motherly love

"Boss please here are the reports you asked for"Gene's assistant Emily said as she kept it on the table. Emily checked her wrist watch and frowned " boss it's already 7:00pm I-"Gene interrupted"wait!, "she shouted when it dawned on her that Queencole might still be at the school probably waiting for her. She quickly grabbed her car keys and dashed out.

Back at the school Queencole was freezing to death from the cold weather but she refused to give up , she rubbed her palms together to generate some heat but it was useless since she had been in the cold weather for about three hours now. The security men sighed as one commented "I really feel bad for that girl, it seems the school is her home, she even stay behind and go through extra lessons during vacations she hardly goes home". The other security man chuckled and said as vapour came out of his mouth" she might be a rich person's daughter maybe "he paused staring at her before saying"I think it would be better if we go over and comfort her"he said still staring at her."And why would we do that , allow her to be there by herself ,bes-"the other fellow began walking to her and the other followed suit. Queencole was on the verge of tears, " you said you would come, why aren't you here yet"she mumbled as a tear slid down her cheek. She wiped her tear and mumbled encouragingly" she'll have to come ," she said. She had tried calling her when it started to get dark but her mom's phone was switched off. 'Did she do it on purpose' she thought as the fear of living here all alone to embark on vacation classes crept within her."Are you alright" One of the security men asked and she nodded."you're going to catch a cold if you continue standing here" the man reasoned but she shook her head , she'll still wait for her mom'. The man was about to convince her further when they saw a black corrolla drive in.

The car stopped and out came Gene , she was shocked when she saw how Queencole was shivering,' was she in the cold all this while' she thought as her heart clenched."M-mom," she called and started walking to her in long strides, she hugged her tightly , burying her face in her chest but she didn't hug her back.She pulled her away from her and asked" were you in the cold all this while?" Queencole couldn't speak because her teeth was chattering"why ?,what if you had fallen sick, then I would have to waste time at the hospital looking after you". Queencole eyes glimmered when she heard her mom's comforting words , however it was cut short with her last line but she ignored it ,' maybe she's trying to say she's worried' she comforted herself and replied "because I knew you would come"."What if I didn't? "sigh" Queencole don't always keep your Hope's up" she said and turned expecting her to follow her and she was also about to follow her ,since it was just a one week holiday she didn't pack anything after all she had a walk in closet at home, "Your daughter had stayed in the cold for almost three hours waiting for you and all you could do is blame her?"he asked. He couldn't believe what he just saw , is not that he was trying to be nosey but he couldn't just shut his

mouth. 'Blame her' she thought painfully as she stared hard at the man , this man has no idea what she has to go through because of this child. After her parents death she got to know from her father's lawyer that each and every property of theirs have been handed to Queencole. They had given her everything , leaving her with only some Mansions and some few amount of money. They had stated clearly that until she's eighteen she can't take over the company and also no one can, not even her.That's how she found her way at the Quans, one of the biggest and well paid companies in the country, which was also owned by the richest family in the world . If only she had aborted her or perhaps...., She gritted her teeth and started walking towards her car not bothering to even answer them . Queencole waved them before following her mom to her car. They drove silently until they reached their Mansion. Queencole was still shivering but she completely ignored her until when she held her hand when they entered the living room."mom please can I sleep in your room today" she was about to object when she felt her cold hands shivering on hers.

She was still a mother after all "hmmm" she replied and walked away.

"Hello boss she just left " someone reported and the line went dead.
