Ever since leaving the coffee shop, Kay's mind had been greatly occupied.
And right now, he was busy in a meeting, however, even now, the only notions that were passing through his brain were related to Mina.
'Should I hire her? Or let her go?' This was the main dilemma that's been bothering him.
'I mean… which of them was the real her? The person who saved me… a loyal person? Or the person who just comes up with random excuses for every shortcoming she has?'
Actually, Kay had been truly impressed by Mina's claim of 'I won't confuse effort with results' which carried a magnificent connotation since it meant she would solely aim for results while trying her best and in case she ever failed in any of her appointed tasks, unlike most employees who would simply say 'I tried my best but still failed, so it's not my problem', she would accept it as her failure despite her efforts and take responsibility for it.
Kay understood that this type of mindset was perhaps the best kind for every functioning company around the globe!
And that's why he felt like Mina was very befitting for his branch of the Corporation.
However, what was making him somewhat hesitant was the fact that she had done the opposite at the coffee shop when she was late due to what she called an accident.
'First, she left the interview area despite me telling her to wait.'
'Then, she was late to our meeting location… showing she might not be a punctual person at all, which is a big no. Though it could also mean this time was just an exception, an unforeseen occasion where she couldn't keep her promise… I don't know, I think it's too soon to judge her."
'Furthermore, it doesn't mean she'll act this way while working for me too since she was just doing a favor by meeting me in the first place. So I better not judge her based on that.' He concluded in the end.
'And most important of all… she's my savior… so…' Kay was by no means an ungrateful person either. So, although he was in no way going to let this notion get in the way of his final decision, it still somewhat got to him.
"Boss!" Snapping out of his deliberation by a loud voice, Kay realized everyone was staring in his direction rather weirdly. It was extremely rare for Kay to dose off during a meeting indeed.
"I asked if this proposal was satisfactory to your expectations or should I come up with something else?" Repeated that particular employee again.
"…"
Finally realizing that he had been dosing off without himself noticing, Kay became even more determined, 'Well, guess everyone indeed gets distracted or makes mistakes from time to time, both me and her included in the list.'
Then, looking at that employee, showing him a casual smile, he requested, "Please start your presentation again. I was busy thinking about something very important to the company."
"…"
Hearing this, that employee could only curse himself internally, 'Fuck me!'
