Chapter 41
“At your building, why?”
“Then we’ll go on back to the office, and you can catch up with us when you’re finished here.”
“Okay, fine. Just run off and leave me by myself.”
“You’ll get over it. Besides, I saw you eyeing that busboy when you thought nobody was looking.”
“He did have nice buns, didn’t he?”
“I really wouldn’t know. Busboys and their buns are more your style than mine.”
We left him there, presumably plotting a possible conquest. I paid the check and got a receipt, and we walked back to the office. Coming out of the elevator, we ran into Andrew, who was on his way out of the office, and he stopped and chatted with us for a minute before he excused himself to go meet a client.
