Chapter 55 Heroes, the chaos he brought, dragons!

Hero.

this is a blessed term used by the citizens and those the gods choose, be it light or darkness.

Good or evil.

The world itself provides what they need by focusing all the mana it has towards them.

Many fall before their journey ends, only some ascend to fulfill the task they have to accomplish, but thanks to them receiving these privileges, it would affect others, MANY OTHERS.

No matter what you do or where you are, even the world itself chooses who to support and who to deny!

The cost that the people of this world have to endure with Every hero that lives until they die or ascend, 10,000 people lose the ability to use mana not because they have no talent or anything like that, it's just their portion gets provided to the remaining heroes.

No one knows about this other than the 'gods' and the former heroes tasked to eternally protect the world that made them immortal from different worlds and beings that were just as strong or stronger than its protectors.

How would you feel if the said heroes took your portion of mana from you?

As thousands treat you with disdain and scorn in a world where strength and power decide your way of life?

Spend years to be trampled on by others and treated like trash JUST because... you were the unlucky one?

The world won't give a shit and continue to spin, other people obviously won't care and go about their business.

But what will happen if let's say 10's of these so-called heroes suddenly perished?

All of the deemed useless and trash people, how would they react should they receive what was rightfully theirs?

Especially when the heroes will soon be made into villains!

--------

Kielvalt, One of the 11 Great kingdoms that were about to become an empire in terms of military power, was currently having a festival. It was to celebrate the new demon king's 'defeat' by sending more than half of their summoned heroes.

This came to show just how much the people believed in their so-called heroes!

Their knowledge came from the heroes.

Their new ways of using magic came from the heroes.

The new ideas and technology came from the heroes.

That is why every human believed in them like blind fanatics, other than the tiny few who witnessed what the 'heroes' had done to many husbands, wives, sons, and daughters.

The only few that held such resentment to them yet unable to do anything.

Many of the kingdom people waited for these 'chosen ones' faithfully near the teleportation circle as it has been a few hours since they left.

Its location was at the very center of the kingdom thousands were roaming the streets, buying from the stalls and vendors set up.

The level of technology that Kielvalt had reached was around the 1950's building-wise, clothing-wise was a bit past the middle ages thanks to their primary focus being the structures that protected them from the world outside.

The teleportation circle started to light up. Once it did, loud and cheerful cries echoed out for the whole kingdom to hear as the people began to sing praises for the returning heroes.

They were thanking them for slaying the new demon king!

They were thanking them for getting rid of the temptress Bianca!

Their cheers became louder once the awaited heroes, that were fewer than what were supposed to be here, had appeared, only a small few noticed that something was wrong, both from the seemingly low number and the deathly pale and lifeless looks they had, as well as the fact that not a single one of them stood up straight, not a single one of them waved back or announced their return like they usually did.

There were only one-tenth of the heroes that stood in place twitching unnaturally as if something was holding them in place while they tried to resist it.

The small reaction began to spread to the others as they grew worried for their heroes.

Until these four disturbing words followed.

"Let the feast begin!"

The voice seemed to come from the center of the teleportation circle, but that was the LEAST of their worries, once those four words dropped, like rabid beasts the heroes, that they looked up to, believed in, and trusted with their lives, suddenly pounced at the nearest civilian and took a BIG bite out of the neck!

Blood spurted out and covered the ground and surrounding people!

Many were still thinking that it was some kind of dream, no, a nightmare, some began to question their sanity as they looked around at this strange scene that seemed impossible in their minds.

There was a moment of silence for those that weren't attacked as they looked at this sight in shock and disbelief, imagine, generations of them blindly believing in heroes never had the people of this kingdom had ever even thought of such a thing to happen!

As more screams and wails followed, more and more people began to awaken from their stupor before joining the screams and panicking crowd as they try to escape.

What sucked for the screamers, was that they became the first targets, which in turn made them scream out even louder unable to understand why they are being targeted despite having so many other meatshields around them!

what started as a festival quickly devolved into a bloody massacre!

The other heroes within the kingdom had arrived to control the situation, while they quickly killed the 'rioting' civilians that were bitten, they were doing their best to cripple the attacking heroes that growled and clawed at them with all their might.

Because if they managed to cripple the frenzied heroes they can be escorted back to the castle or church to be treated!

No matter what, heroes are precious weapons that could change the tide of any war depending on their numbers and abilities.

Despite the efforts of those that had arrived at the scene, there were too many factors that prevented them from accomplishing what they wanted to do.

Too many frenzied civilians, a hundred frenzied heroes that were causing havoc and destruction with every move they made, trying their best to not be bit or scratched since there was a brief scene that many of the survivors remembered so that they may not suffer the same fate.

Only some of the newcomers were brave, unwavering, and strong like in the stories against the charging humans that acted like rabid beasts with blood smeared on their bodies..

But it was a pity, only those that survive, get to tell the tale and write history.

one of the 'frenzied' heroes teleported behind one of the newcomers at the very back before his mouth opened unnaturally wide then chomped down on the shoulder breaking through the armor that covered it easily!

The victims sharp cry alerted the others steering away from their attention from the enemy in front of them at the worse time possible.

The regular human civilians couldn't put a scratch on them but the fellow heroes on the other hand...

it was obvious for all to see as more of them began using their abilities quickly turning the area into a battleground of those of higher power!

Explosions, loud clangs and clashing of weapons, colorful displays of magic, from awe-inspiring skills taking effect to brutal ones that ruined the area killing hundreds at once.

Kielvalt was descending to chaos and this was just the beginning as nine more kingdoms were currently suffering the same problem at this very moment!

As for why the last kingdom was left as is, well how would you react if it was said that a certain group of demon kings were there and they were doing something to help lessen the price that a particular demon god was suffering from?

Hehe, no worries their screams will soon follow, let us enjoy this moment as the squeals and carnage grew within the ten kingdoms all while Jack watched this with a cold gaze while planning to create 'heroes' that will be under his control.

Right now, Jack was flying towards the Kingdom of Kielvalt to collect his spoils of war for more upgrades, however, something unexpected happened, while en route a breath of fire came flying at him out of nowhere that was soon followed by one of wind, one of water, then earth, light, darkness.

Thanks to dodging so many attacks at once, Jack was forced to stop to find out who his attacker were...

It was Six dragons all of them were half the size of Azazel, growling at him with their own self-righteousness as they screamed out.

"DIE, CURSED OUTSIDER!"

As more dragon breaths came at him!
