Chapter 41 boy in the storage room, next base with a gun and a blade

In a dark storage room full of food was one of the new recruits barely fifteen cowering in a corner with the door barricaded by the now broken shelves.

Thanks to his lack of control, his body seemed to be around 13-14 years old human wise, with an oversized set of armor that covered his skinny frame his height was 4'6" with red strands of hair peeking from the bottom end of the helmet, his blue fear-filled eyes were red from crying in dread thanks to what was happening, he only joined to have more food to feed himself not to end up in this kind of situation!

Fruits, vegetables, and meat, now, littered the ground as he was trying his best not to make a single peep!

His comrades and friends changed from caring allies to crazed ravenous beasts that hungered for the flesh of others!

As the boy only arrived two days ago, He had received no physical training to help him fight them off, no proper wits to lay traps that would work, he lacked the magic practice to make full use of his mana capacity that placed him as the future strongest within this base.

Yet that promising future was ruined by what was happening now!

No one to turn to, unable to defend himself he was wasting away in a storage room waiting for the trouble outside to pass... or his own end!

The sounds of growls and battle reached his area as loud thunderclaps echoed out making his ears ring as he covered them with his hands while trying to stick as close as possible to the corner he was in.

What can one expect from a child that hasn't learned to fight, one that hasn't even drawn blood from others, he was a coward that is a fact nothing can change the current him at this moment. the thunderclaps crackled faster than ever as more of the heated growls of ravenous crazed demons rushed to the source this went on for a good hour before finally...

Deathly silence.

it was so quiet that he could hear his own heartbeat!

but that silence was but momentarily as he heard three-slow-knocks come from the wall behind him!

He jumped away with a quick squeal of fear before hastily covering his mouth with his hands as the silence from earlier made the demon rather jumpy and tense.

his eyes were locked at where he heard the knocking from as he thought it was another crazed former comrade that sought to devour him, so his body shook from fear as he grabbed a piece of wood from one of the shelves that was broken from building a barricade.

He was hoping for the best outcome, where no one was here for him, as his weapon almost slipped out of his hands a few times but sadly his wishful thinking crumbled away as did the wall beside him as a large figure smashed through it as dust and debris fell from its body!

He couldn't quite see who it was nor could he tell if it was something friendly, right now, he raised his feeble weapon with both hands then charged while screaming out loud like a maniac as he cried, but faster than he could react a large hand grabbed hold of him arms that cracked a bit from the amount of strength the grip had!

he was slowly lifted up as he tried to fight with what he could use from trying to bite the arm to kicking the torso, he would've aimed for something lower but he was just that small!

A cold voice spoke to him with a tinge of playfulness at the end.

"For such a coward, you actually had some balls to attack me~"

The boy was somewhat confused at first before he became excited as he quickly assumed that this demon(?) was here to save him!

Despite not getting a chance to properly see who it was the boy bawled out in relief despite him still dangling by the arms off of the ground, but he didn't care he just wanted this nightmare to be done!

But the cold voice's next words were like a pail of iced water poured on him and doused the dwindling flames his hopes as reality was a cruel one.

"So are you going to tell me what you know? or do you want to end up like the others before you?"

a few hours later Jack had received the information that he wanted although he didn't learn much from the boy from earlier either he was just that loyal or he truly didn't know anything this left a bad taste in his mouth but he didn't have many options...

how was he to know if the boy was being honest or not?

*sigh* regardless he now had the location of three more places to raid so it'll be a long week for him as while the plan of using the undead to do the job for him was nice and all it'll bite him in the ass if he's not careful so Jack will only use it when it is truly the only option!

The capacity of his mana core had doubled and he learned two magic spells so far and the nano suit was still trying to decipher the magic books that were collected he can make a mana bullet the suit's optimized version of a mana arrow, it can be altered to suit what he needs from a .50 caliber to a 9mm just that he needs another upgrade to increase his efficiency.

While he can physically learn how to do so, he didn't want to waste time.

About a half a day, he reached to next base they seemed more trained and disciplined compared to the last one he destroyed so after making four .50 caliber version mana bullets he targeted the two men on the wall, and the two in front of the gate!

then fired!

Unlike a rifle, the mana bullets moved with a light whistle similar to the wind that blows, so it did the job quite well as it did more damage than he anticipated!

the two on the walls were killed easily as the upper half went flying through the air as the victims were confused as to what just happened until they land on to the ground one had his neck broken while the other landed on one of the golems head through the opening all while the golem ignored this and robotically did its job~

the two at the front gate were killed easily as one lost his head completely with the other was fast enough to react but happened to do the dumbest thing ever against a .50 caliber mana bullet...

he tried blocking it with a mana shield!

which it made a loud screeching sound that alerted the rest of the demons within the base his body 'exploded" from trying to brave the attack!

Jack was curious as to why were his attacks so effective he asked the suit but all he got was the usual 'more data required' and such but if someone else were asked this they'd give him a simple answer.

it was so pure and dense that it was like he was using missiles instead of bullets to attack them and even the parallel casting was already scary for even high ranked demons as that is when they receive the knowledge of how to do such things!

So with a heavily customized colt 1911's in one hand, with a jagged machete in the other while invisible he walked to the base without a care in the world, as he wanted something from them including revenge and he's going to get it!
