TTW Chapter 118: Death

The three-dimensional maneuver device around Erwin's waist emitted gas, and his speed suddenly increased. He shot out a steel wire, nailing it into the shoulder of the titan. Then the rope swiftly retracted, and he shot towards the back of the titan's neck like a streak of light.

Erwin tightly gripped the long knife in his hand, preparing to strike with all his might.

Just as he was about to succeed, the titan that had been attacking soldiers suddenly turned around. Its eyes, calm yet eerie, fell upon Erwin.

"Is she looking at me?"

Erwin's pupils contracted. Despite the vast differences in size and appearance, he suddenly recognized the identity of this titan.

It was the girl from earlier.

This was an intelligent titan!

Erwin suddenly smiled. Finally!

He had finally discovered the secret of the titans!

But his smile didn't linger for half a second. The Jaw Titan, who had turned to look at Erwin, struck out suddenly.

With sharp claws, Jaw Titan slapped Erwin away. Erwin's figure flew out like a kite with its string cut, propelled by the terrifying strength of the titan, crashing into several giant trees along the way.

"Captain!"

The soldiers exclaimed in shock.

However, the Jaw Titan didn't linger; instead, it suddenly ran towards an open space in the distance.

Reinforcements from the camp arrived. Except for the seriously injured soldiers, Levi ordered a small team to stay behind and protect them.

The rest of the soldiers arrived here and witnessed the scene.

"For the captain's revenge!"

The soldiers roared, riding their horses and chasing after the Jaw Titan.

Levi, on the other hand, rode his horse frantically, charging into the forest. He found Erwin and quickly dismounted.

Erwin's condition was dire.

He was nearing death, his lower body severed, intestines and blood staining the ground, barely clinging to life.

"Don't speak, I'll call the medic immediately."

Levi cut Erwin off before he could speak, gripping Erwin's shoulder tightly, urging him to relax.

The surrounding soldiers remained silent.

They all knew that Levi had a serious cleanliness obsession, usually abhorring anything unclean. But now, even though Erwin was covered in blood and filth, Levi didn't care.

"It's no use, Levi."

Erwin managed to speak with his last breath, using his remaining strength to grab Levi's hand and reveal the information he had just discovered.

"Capture her, you must capture her."

As he finished speaking, Erwin closed his eyes.

"I understand."

Levi muttered to himself, standing up, mounting his horse again, and galloping towards the direction of the Jaw Titan.

"Hahaha..."

"You really did your best, Ymir," Zeke commented as if he were a movie viewer, discussing the scenes happening on the sidelines. He seemed particularly excited about the explosion of blood mist, like he had gotten drunk on it.

Standing on a small slope, he rubbed his hands together, brimming with impatience.

Among the Nine Titans, Jaw Titan was the fastest besides the Cart Titan. Regular horses couldn't catch up to him.

However, Zeke knew that Ymir wasn't merely trying to escape; she deliberately led everyone to this open space, leaving no cover.

Levi's figure caught up from behind and soon reached the front of the group.

Seizing an opportunity, he leaped from his horse's back and activated the vertical maneuvering equipment, shooting a wire into the ground. With the gas propulsion, he flew out forcefully.

As he was about to crash into the ground, he activated the maneuvering equipment again, pinning Jaw Titan's hind leg. This allowed him to soar into the air and above the Jaw Titan.

To employ the vertical maneuvering equipment so skillfully on flat ground was a feat only Levi could achieve.

The ensnared Jaw Titan abandoned the escape and started counter attacking in place.

However, this area was flat ground, and except for Levi, others couldn't fully utilize the power of the vertical maneuvering equipment.

The battle was becoming intense.

At this moment, Lin Yi and Hange, riding on a Mindless Titan controlled by the power of the Founding Titan, were heading in this direction.

For Hange, riding a Titan was a novel experience, far beyond anything she could have imagined before.

But she increasingly believed in what Lin Yi had told her.

The descendant of the First King, possessing the power of the Founding Titan.

Once Lin Yi was safely brought back inside the walls, and the impostor government was overthrown, the people of Eldia would no longer have to worry about the Titan threat.

As for the Marleyans, Hange wasn't considering them for now.

When the two arrived, they saw Levi's squad engaged in battle with the unusual titan on the flat ground, facing constant danger.

"That's not a Mindless Titan."

"What?"

Hange was momentarily confused but quickly understood that Lin Yi was referring to one of the Nine Titans.

"Be careful. There might..."

Before Lin Yi could finish speaking, a thunderous sound suddenly echoed from afar. Despite being hundreds of meters away, the thunder was remarkably clear.

Soon after, a massive boulder tumbled through the air and came hurtling straight toward Lin Yi. The boulder's speed was astonishing.

The titan was too conspicuous, making it easy for Zeke to spot Lin Yi's presence.

Before Lin Yi could finish speaking, he grabbed Hange and leaped, leaving the Mindless Titan beneath them. The titan's chest caved in as the massive stone struck, sending it crashing to the ground.

"That's the real enemy."

Lin Yi squinted. More rocks followed, each one massive and hurtling from a distance, as powerful as artillery shells.

"He's targeting me. I'll leave the rest to you."

Lin Yi's decision to bring Hange along wasn't just for her beauty; he also needed her to help persuade the Survey Corps, saving himself from having to explain extensively.

With a squeeze of his hand in mid-air, a white and gold-trimmed suitcase appeared out of thin air.

Hange had grown accustomed to such sights; she attributed it all to the power of the Founding Titan.

"Leave it to me."

Hange couldn't just ignore her comrades' battle. She activated her vertical maneuvering equipment and rushed toward the Jaw Titan's direction.
