A Punishment~

Julia glanced at the empty room and sighed as she got on her feet. She couldn't waste time anymore, and she didn't want to put all the pressure on her little assistant. The poor girl must have been frightened to death after the accident.

She didn't believe that the accident couldn't happen the second time. Julia called Mr. Hamilton. The man picked up, and she directly said, "Why don't you come to my office? I'm a bit busy."

The man was silent for a while before he sighed. "Fine. In the evening."

"Sure." She was going to work until late at night anyway. She should give him another check at this time.

Julia hung up the call and frowned. Now, she had lost one million dollars, and she had no idea how she could pay the remaining debt. Half a million money would be less now after paying up everything. That damned thief played well!

She took a deep breath and focused on her work. A while later, she got a call from her assistant. It had been a few hours after they had contacted one another. She thought she was probably calling her because she had finished all her work. But she heard her assistant's frantic voice.

"Boss, the bank says that someone already took the money when I went there."

Julia frowned. She shook her head. "Don't worry about it. I'll do something about it."

Rose's shoulders relaxed. "I filed a complaint against the thief. So I'm sure that the police will handle the case."

"Take a break. You don't have to come to work today." Julia felt bad for making her assistant run around even after the girl had gone through an accident.

"Boss. Thank you!" Rose felt like crying after hearing that. Her boss was generous! She hung up the call and went to her house.

On the other side, Julia's forehead was creased with lines. She didn't know what to do anymore. She tried calling Victor again, but the man had still blocked her number.

Julia took a deep breath. Critical times called for essential measures! She would make her fake husband call her once she got back at him!

At this time, Victor, who was sitting in front of a computer with a frown on his face, didn't really have time to deal with anyone, let alone Julia, the person he considered less worthy of his attention. The company's stocks went down all of a sudden this morning, which made everyone in the firm so frightened that they bombarded Victor's social media accounts and personal contact number.

And yes, it was rare for the great Emerald Enterprise to have such a day because ever since Victor's father had established it, it ran so smoothly that the stocks would always be stable. But then, it went so down that the situation became a bit dangerous.

At this time, Victor couldn't help but feel that there was probably a mole in his company. After all, he was an Alpha and the CEO who had many enemies. How could they not plant spies in his firm?

This situation meant that the spies probably had snuck deep inside the company without letting him get a hint about it.

Victor's eyes turned darker and darker the more he thought about it. He kept studying the information mentioned on the computer as he frowned. He knew that if he were given the time, he could probably figure out who the spies were and kick them out of the company today itself!

Just as he was doing his duty, his assistant, Haley, opened the door with an anxious expression on her face. She looked at her boss, who was still busy confronting the enemy by trying to find information from the official documents. Even though she didn't want to, she had to warn the boss of something, and it was extremely important!

The news had made it to the media, and they were already hyping it a great deal!

Haley took a deep breath as she tried to make her face less anxious and opened her mouth. "Boss….Julia seems to have made trouble for you…."

Victor rolled his eyes. "This isn't new. What did she do?"

Haley hesitated before speaking. "She went on a food strike in front of the company, right in the garden of that hotel, while camping there. She's even paying money to the hotel owner for that and has called many reporters to let them see her deeds!"

Victor had a headache. He leaned back in his seat as he tried to calm himself down, but the more he thought about the current situation, the more he became angry. He got up from his seat, and he glared at Haley. "Give the task to Noah."

When Haley heard that name, her face turned pale. She had known about that Beta of the boss for a long time, but that person was even colder and smarter than the boss! And the most important point was that he didn't like her for some reason!

Haley saw her boss's dark face and swallowed those words to the depths of her stomach.

What could she do anyway other than obeying him?

Victor didn't even glance at her face. He was going to teach that stupid little wife a good lesson! She had made enough trouble for him anyway!

On the other hand, Julia didn't know whether what she had done would be fruitful or not. She had leaped and stationed herself in this hotel's garden as a protest against her husband. Her agent and even her assistant called her, but Julia didn't touch her phone. She sat there, glaring at the building with her dark eyes.

Now even she wanted to see whether that person would still manage to ignore her like this!

Just then, the man came himself as he walked inside the hotel's main gate. There were a few bodyguards behind him as he waved his hand. Those well-built people stopped and stood outside the gate as he turned toward Julia.

His eyes were so cold that they could freeze anyone. After seeing his dark expressions, it could be said that he was truly angry this time.

Julia felt a chill down her spine.
