Chapter 289: Eliminations

The very next day, surviving for another day among the students became even more of a challenge and tedious job. First of all people who doesn't know how to find shelter, couldn't even get a wink of sleep throughout the night, thus giving them fatigue.

Second people who doesn't know how to hunt or fasting tend to become agitated and dangerous due to hunger. Third people who doesn't have experience in surviving outdoors due to being spoiled, tend to not know what to do next at this point. Due to this it is expected that some of the students would be eliminated on the second day.

As for Shun he then has to find food as he scavenged through some bush and found some berries that he could eat while finding a proper meat source for calories and carbs. Even though fish are also adequate food that can be found at the nearest body of water, a wild meat is much more preferable due to that fact that surviving alone needs a ton of calories.

In that moment as if fate had given him some chance to survive, Shun found another type of edible plant that could give him alternate energy than carbs while staying healthy and fit at the same time.

What he found was a red mushroom that grew near a tree roots. Based on its texture alone, the red mushroom is literally identical to Ganoderma Mushroom which is also known as king of herbs and herbs of immortality. Such names were given to such plant due to its history that stretches back to the Huang dynasty of China, the era of its first emperor Qin Shi Huang.

The story is commonly known that Qin Shi Huang during his later years is obsessed with staying young and being immortal, due to that he searched high and low for the herb of immortality which resulted on him finding the red Ganoderma Mushroom. Even though this plant didn't made him immortal, this plant alone had made it possible for Qin Shi Huang to surpass the age of 100 by constantly taking it everyday.

One rumor even say that Ganoderma Mushroom had a lot of nutrients from just one of its shoots alone. It was so many that it can't even be compared to modern medicine.

With such plant at his hand, Shun could avoid having conflict with the hunting team for a few day and survive with the plant alone.

In that moment while he was chewing down on the berry under the tree's shade, a pillar of light rose on the island, as it climbed into the air until its highest point, before being sent directly to where the cruise ship is. If his guess was right, then that must be the first student who got eliminated.

Not long after three more light rose up from the ground, two on the west and one on the south, as the three lights went back on the cruise ship, as they were interviewed on how well their lifestyle on the island is.

After that more lights erupt, as the challenged for surviving another day literally made anyone do some crazy stuff.

Time passed, various explosions rose up from all direction, as battles erupted between students or student agaisnt monsters, nevertheless with the explosions present, the battle must be fierce.

While walking along the trail in the forest, Shun heard a battle happening nearby, as he quickly hid behind the trees while observing the people who fighting. As he took a closer look, he had apparently recognized the person who was being assaulted by two students that came from Ascalon Academy.

Goran Kallos, the Guardian knight role which can serve as a tank that can't be easily killed. Alongside it he was also with Shun when they were competing at the 6 academies competition. Due to that Shun had literally have a good impression of Goran Kallos.

"God damnit! Are you guys incompetent? Just search for food, this meat is mine" said by Goran as he puts a small rabbit deep within his clothes pocket

Upon seeing the rabbit, Shun now understands why the two students of the prestigious academy of Ascalon act such a way. Meat and poultry are great sources of protein. They also provide lots of other nutrients your body needs, like iodine, iron, zinc, vitamins (especially B12) and essential fatty acids, since surviving takes out a lot of energy, eating meat is literally a must, due to that even if Goran have to fight to the death, he will not give his meat that he had worked so hard to acquire.

Pulling out his sword and shield, the two Ascalon Academy students then pulled out their weapon which is a mace and a hammer, two blunt weapons. With such blunt weapon, evena guardian knight would have a hard time surviving with that kind of bad match up. Nevertheless Goran can't back down.

With a scream, Goran charged towards the two ascalon students, as he swung his sword at another, while bashing another student's head with his shield. However both of his attack had missed its target. With that Goran was sent flying when the two students attacked him simultaneously, causing Goran to be played at, before getting blown away  through a tough tree.

Coughing out blood, Goran quickly stood back up, as he gets his guard up and dared to block numerous strikes from a hammer twice his weight. While being occupied in blocking the hammer attack, one the student then slid to Goran's side, as it directly smacked its mace towards Gorans side, causing him to arc in pain as the attack literally shocked his whole being.

Seeing that Goran was about to bite the dust, Shun then hesitated to help for a moment, before he finally moved and intercepted the attack in just one swing from one of phantom dancers sword.

Due to his interference, the two Ascalon Academy students were shocked, as Shun withdraw phantom dancer, as he used a fraction of the Aquasphere's power, and gained the chance to manifest the spear, before doing a simple thrust which caused the student with the mace to be blown away and crash unto the roots of one of the trees behind them.

After that Shun entered into a stance, as water attributed mana gathered at the tip of his spear, before he pushed out all of the gathered mana and manifest a spear thrust that is comparable to a torrent of water being thrown at the enemy.

"Water Thrust!!!"

In one thrust, the student that was holding the hammer as struck by a powerful blow as he got dragged through the mud and rocks, as it torrent of mana crashed through multiple objects with the student at the tip of it. Soon after the attack reached its limit distance, a huge explosion then rung out, followed by a bright light rising from the ground, indicating that Shun had eliminated that particular student.

Seeing that it's partner had just died in one attack, the remaining student quickly ran away, leaving Shun defending Goran who was heavily injured.
