Chapter 198: The Spear That Divided The Sea IV

[Outskirts of the Kingdom, Near the border]

After the huge explosion in the air, both Akito and Asmodeus quickly landed back to the ground as they powered up their respective weapons and fired off another ranged attacks.

 "Tomura's Third offensive sword form Ken no Nami (Sword Wave)"

"Raging torrent!!!!"

The moment both of their power clashed against each other, a huge explosion once again vibrated towards its surroundings as clouds and dust rose up to the air. Using such obstruction to its advantage, Asmodeus quickly hid his presence from Akito as he traversed the distance between them in order to initiate a sudden strike from his blind spot.

However despite the obstructions hindering his sight Akito wasn't helpless at all. By using one of his sword form which he honed throughout his ordeal in this world, he then begun to search for Asmodeus presence from within the obstructed sight.

"Tomura's Third tactical sword form Namiutsu kankaku (Ripple sense)"

Using rippling waves like a buoy sensors back on his world, he then begun to feel every vibration in his surroundings that is invisible to his naked eye in order to seek his opponent. In order to find Asmodeus he will need to identify the vibration made by its footsteps in order to differentiate it from an ordinary falling obstruction.

Since humans makes a different vibration in comparison to other non living objects, differentiating the vibrations from each other will be quite an easy task for Akito who have experience in this type of situation. After all Asmodeus wasn't the first opponent he had faced which obstructed his view.

In just a few seconds, he quickly found Asmodeus whereabouts despite all the obstructions as he quickly made an attack from his expected blind spot. On the other hand once Asmodeus felt that Akito suddenly made his attack, despite him still being hidden, he quickly bent his back in order to avoid his sudden swing before jumping away in order to avoid his quick follow up of double slash.

After taking his distance for quite a few feet, Asmodeus quickly duck down below as he launched himself forward and thrusted out his spear.

In response to that, Akito swiftly parried the thrust by swing his sword circularly to the side, as he quickly held his sword horizontally and swung towards Asmodeus direction.

Quickly pulling back the spear on his hand, Asmodeus blocked the incoming horizontal strike, before taking a quick spin in the air, while following the momentum of the strike. After he spun in the air, he then held the end butt of the spear as he swung it towards Akito's neck.

Noticing the incoming swing, Akito then quickly duck down in order to avoid having his head being cut off as he suddenly noticed Asmodeus quickly shifting his hold on his spear upon missing his target. At the same time Asmodeus spun his spear from his left to his right with a slight nudge as he went into thrusting position in mid air.

The moment Asmodeus thrusted his pear towards Akito's ducked head, the latter then quickly pulled back his head in order to avoid the strike while swinging his sword upwards to parry back the thrusted spear. However the moment he successfully parried the spear upwards, Asmodeus then smoothly slid the spear along his back and thrusted the butt of the spear towards Akito's guts, before touching the ground.

As if the thrust wasn't enough, Asmodeus quickly casted a spell at the end of his spear and sent out a raging torrent of water to blast off Akito towards the distance and crash at the pile of hard rocks.

Everything he did was fluent and precise. Even thought Akito prove to be a challenge, Asmodeus himself was still beyond his league. 

After taking care of Akito, Asmodeus then quickly searched for the annoying sup[porter of the group as he quickly found Diva from the distance applying healing buffs towards both Mordred and Lionel. Naturally once he found the annoying songstress, he then charged towards her in incredible speed as he plans to take her out before she becomes an even more of a bother obstacle.

Of course his charge didn't go unnoticed. The moment Asmodeus begun his charge, both Lionel and Mordred quickly reacted towards such an attack as they tried to pull back Diva behind them and intercept Asmodeus charge. Just by the situation alone, both Lionel and Mordred quickly understood who is Asmodeus target.

The first one who tried to intercept the charge was Lionel. Engulfing both of his hands with flames, he then punched his fist forward with an attempt to break Asmodeus momentum from his charge. However contrary to his expectation, the Aquasphere aura around Asmodeus armor quickly neutralized his flames as it were nothing, as the former quickly dealt with Lionel with a series to thrust and slash in a split second.

In just a few short moments, Lionel was easily dealt with, as he was bloodied all over before falling down to the floor. Just by Asmodeus performance alone, Lionel concluded that that he had grown stronger in comparison to himself a few moments ago. Not only in strength but even in speed, Asmodeus himself had climb an even greater height of power.

Once Lionel was down, Mordred then in turn coalesced with red lightning all over her body as she came to intercept by creating a rising sword wave in front of her. However Asmodeus easily cuts through her attack with a swing of his spear as he threw the spear towards her in a split second.

Since the action was done in a split second, Mordred was unable to react in time as the spear broke through her broken armor and pinned her down to the ground with the spear sti8cking out from her body.

With no remorse at all, Asmodeus pulled out the spear from Mordred's body, causing blood to quickly spread out from her wound, as he quickly came forward and attacked Diva.

In a single thrust of his spear, Asmodeus struck down Diva's shoulder, before he cut off her arm with a swing and slit down her throat before she could even shout. From that attack alone, Diva fell to the ground with hollowed eyes as Asmodeus saw her breath her last.

With Akito knocked out, Lionel at death door, Mordred losing her consciousness due to massive blood loss, and Diva's death, Asmodeus was then assured that he finished off all of his opponent causing him to laugh madly while turning his attention towards the soldiers of the kingdom from afar.

At the current moment, Asmodeus was feeling the point of exhilaration due to having enough power to destroy his enemies. With the power of the Aquasphere he was able to deal easily with the elite units of the kingdom which once proved to be troublesome opponent. With the Aquasphere alone, he could literally dominate anyone through his strength.

However before he could fully enjoy his victory upon the display of his power, a sudden voice whispered to his ear as if mocking his achievement alone.

"Quite fascinating isn't it?"

Startled by that voice, Asmodeus quickly looked around his surroundings as he cannot find anyone who just spoke to his ear. Nevertheless the voice didn't stop as it continues to mock him.

"Yes! defeating them was quite a feat, however its quite disappointing that your forgot what i could do"

In that moment all of the bodies of the people he supposedly defeated then begun to disintegrate into flower petals, causing Asmodeus to realize the meaning behind the words that the voice whispered to him.

"Unfortunately, everything is an illusion"

With a sudden  pain suddenly piercing him all over his body, he then witnessed the whole scenery around him disintegrate into nothingness as he realized that all the fight he had till now was only a tinge of illusion.

Once everything he accepted broke into nothingness, he then noticed himself laying down on the floor with various weapons sticking out of his body and Shun sitting by the side as it stabbed his hand with another weapon from his shop. In this time he still had his scythe which was prior to his transformation.

Once a sword was stabbed into his hand, Asmodeus then tried to scream in pain only to notice that he cant even utter a single sound out of his mouth. Apparently Diva was on the far side on his right fully alive and was currently singing a requiem which sealed his voice. Alongside her Akito, Mordred, and Lionel was currently watching him being stabbed to death from the sides completely unscathed of any in juries at all.

The moment he saw that none of them sustained any damage from the battle he had undergo, he then begun to laughed madly despite having no voice to utter as he thought when had he been caught in the illusion.

As if reading his mind, Merlin then popped up from the side and begun to speak.

"You must be wondering when you had been caught in my illusion"

After stating that Merlin then smiled as he answered his curiosity.

"From the very beginning"

As if that was Merlin parting words, Shun then pulled out a great sword from his shop as he struck down Asmodeus on his head completely beheading him in the process. In that moment Asmodeus died, under the pretext that he was caught in Merlin's illusion from the very beginning of his entrance.
