Gian ran away because he was fed up with Maximo's attitude. He finally understood why Lux Osiris committed suicide. One of the reasons was because of his father and also his older sisters. Plus, Maximo's attitude reminded him of his father, Marcos Everest.
"Young master Lux!" shouted Maximo's bodyguard as he continued to pursue.
"Damn! These guys really like this job! How much did Lux's father pay them to catch me!" Gian shouted in annoyance.
Gian had just realized that Lux's physique was quite strong. He hadn't stopped running since before, and was even able to evade being chased by going into alleyways. He didn't feel overly tired, and he didn't drip sweat like he used to, who was easily weak, especially when it came to sports. Gian, who just wanted to get away from his family for a while, ran in an uncertain direction.
Until he saw a large red bridge. Underneath, there was a wide river that seemed to connect the city of Imperium to another city. When he intended to go towards the river because he saw that there were sightseeing boats down there, suddenly ....
"Ugh!" moaned Lux because he didn't see that there was a car that had just come out of the corner. However, he was lucky that he didn't get hit, but made his running stop and stared at the driver sharply. "Eh?" he was surprised when he recognized the driver.
"Young master Lux? Is it really you?" asked a young lady as she lowered the windowpane and looked out.
"Erica! Help me! Th-there's a fanatic fan who wants to arrest me!" he screeched as he rushed to the car.
"Oh, oh, okay, okay!" she called out in a panic and unlocked the center door of the car.
Lux quickly got into the middle seat and hid in the gap. Erica hurriedly stepped on the gas pedal. The car drove away from the riverbank along with Maximo's two bodyguards who failed to catch Lux Osiris.
"Damn! We've lost track of young master Lux," Zoc exclaimed in panic as he watched the surroundings.
"We can't go home empty-handed. Keep combing around. He can't be far away," said Bon who was nodded by his partner.
The two bodyguards headed to the river because they were sure that Lux was trying to escape using the boat. If Gian hadn't met Erica, he might have been caught and dragged home. It was a stroke of luck that Gian escaped and was now continuing his destiny.
"Young master Lux, I think, we are safe," said Erica as she looked from the rearview mirror of the car.
"Ah, thank you," Lux replied relieved and then sat down slowly on the center seat.
"Mm, are you going to the banquet?" asked Erica guessing as she continued driving at a moderate speed.
"Well, your guess is right. Is it... because of my appearance?" asked Lux as he moved his body forward.
"Oh no. Because today is the day that young businessmen and public figures like you look forward to show off their skills to government officials," Erica replied, leaving Gian stunned that even civilians knew about it.
"Yes, an annual event, boring but full of excitement," Lux said as if he had done it many times before. Erica smiled.
"Is... the result as expected?" asked Erica whose eyes repeatedly had to glance over as she did not want to miss the moment with the idol.
"Ah, you made me remember something!" squealed Lux who then jumped onto the front bench and sat beside Erica. The young woman was surprised because Lux did it quickly without any difficulty. "Sorry, if it seems barbaric. I... prefer to talk by looking directly at the face of my interlocutor. You... don't mind, do you?"
Erica shook her head quickly. "I... feel honored," she replied with a smile.
Gian's gaze then shifted towards the red bridge that reminded him of his time in America. When he drove Joseph to meet one of his coworkers by crossing the Golden Gate. Gian pensively remembered his life on Earth that was full of struggle, but the results were not worth it. He seemed to be daydreaming, trapped by his past.
"Mr. Lux, are you alright?" asked Erica anxiously.
"No, I'm not fine," Lux answered honestly.
"Sorry if it seemed like... me, I just wanted to help," replied Erica looking nervous in expressing her feelings.
"I'm in danger, Erica. Only you can help me," said Lux suddenly which made Erica immediately pull the car over as soon as they passed the bridge.
"Only I can help you? What is that about?" asked Erica curiously.
"Tell me. How many fans have you managed to recruit into Lux Osiris' fan group?" asked Lux looking at Erica closely. Gian deliberately put on a pitiable face to be pitied. Yes, for now, that was all he could do.
"Mm, 200 people."
Gian closed his eyes tightly. 'I still need 800 more people. How is this?' he thought and massaged his head.
"What's wrong, Young master Lux? Is it... not what you expected?" asked Erica anxiously.
Lux looked at Erica closely. "During the presentation earlier, I confidently mentioned that I had managed to gather 1000 people."
Erica's mouth opened wide. She seemed to be surprised by her idol's confession. The two people were transfixed for a while, each silent with their own thoughts because of the number 1000.
"Oh!" exclaimed Erica and Lux simultaneously. The two people turned to each other and pointed.
"You go first," Lux pleaded which made Erica make a serious face instantly.
"How about if we discuss this somewhere else? Or... do you want to go somewhere? I can drive you," Erica offered, but Lux shook his head quickly.
"Don't take me home. Just take me to wherever you want," Lux replied which left Erica speechless.
"Alright. Keep our ideas to ourselves, until we reach our destination," said Erica to which Lux nodded.
The car drove through the night. Gian saw that the moon was indeed pink. He was so amazed because that place gave a unique impression on his life. Although the buildings in the city were old-fashioned, they looked clean. The fashion style of the people was not too bad, although for him, it had to be given an impression because everyone looked almost the same. The official dress style was like every day was work time.
"Ah, I got another one. I'll save it for later," Gian muttered, which made Erica turn her head, but the idol returned it with a smile.
Erica misbehaved and refocused on driving.
Until finally, they arrived at a house that was located a little apart from one house to another. It has a large yard and is surrounded by a wooden fence. It looks beautiful even though it looks simple. A two-story house, made of a combination of stone and wood, made the house by the river so comfortable to live in.
"This is my grandmother's house. Every once a week, I visit and stay overnight. Don't worry, grandmother won't bother you, Mr. Lux. She keeps herself busy with gardening, cooking, and knitting," said Erica which made Lux's smile widen.
"I want to meet her," Lux replied to which Erica nodded, but then, Erica's face turned serious instantly. "What?"
"Your clothes are very flashy. Grandma will know that you are from the noble class," said Erica which made Gian think seriously instantly.
"Oh, I'm wearing layers," Lux replied as he took off his noble suit. Here were his shoes, sword, and all sorts of accessories that made him look like a prince. "How is it now?" asked Lux which caused Erica to be transfixed with a blushing red face. "Hello ...."
"You... You're so handsome!" replied Erica who was crying.
Gian was confused. In fact, he only wore cloth trousers, socks, and a black sleeveless undershirt that made his arm muscles clearly visible.
"Of course I'm handsome. You want me to look pretty?" Instantly, Erica's laughter erupted. She was still crying, but also laughing. Gian laughed too because for him Erica was very innocent. "How? Will ... I am able to meet grandma looking like this?"
Erica nodded as she wiped her tears with a tissue.
"I brought sandals. Put them on first," she said as she took out a pair of sandals from the bag which made Gian's forehead furrowed.
"Awesome," he replied with a stiff face and wanted to throw the thing away.
Erica chuckled softly as the slippers she was given were sleeping slippers with pink feathers. There were a pair of large eyes on the instep, who knew what kind of creature it was as it lacked ears, nose, and mouth. The two of them then got out of the car and stood in front of the door waiting for the host to open the door. When the door opened, Lux immediately gave his friendly smile. However, the grandmother's eyes were wide-eyed with a forefinger pointed.
"Y-you ...."
