The sounds of cheering died down after a while. I went back to my seat after getting treated and given some potions to restore my mana.

Kyra stared at me as I sat down beside her. "How did you manage to copy his spell? You had something similar to it already, right? You couldn't have just recreated that spell just from seeing him use it once, right?" With each question she asked, she got closer and closer to my face.

"Um, Lady Kyra… I think you're getting a bit too close." I reminded her as I put my hands up, trying to protect my personal space.

'I guess this is her true personality. She must really like being strong.' I thought as I looked at her backing up, her face slightly blushing.

"Ehem… I'm sorry for my rudeness… It's just that… What you did was something that would be completely impossible for our age. I would understand if you were a Grand Magus in disguise but you're even younger than me! Wait… You're not a Grand Magus in disguise, right?" She asked, getting closer than she did before.

"I'm definitely not a Grand Magus… I mean, isn't there like only one of them per kingdom?" I replied with a curious look on my face.

"Yes, you're right. I guess I was just too shocked to think straight. Again, I'm sorry. I hope we can learn more from each other in the future." She smiled at me and went back to watch the ongoing duels.

'Is she coming onto me? Am I that handsome or… Nah…' I thought to myself and went back to focus on the duels.

There wasn't anyone else that drew my attention. All of the third years were capitalizing on using their sub-elements since they were more powerful and started using less of the basic ones even when they could be efficient in some battles.

Hector was blazing through the losers' bracket and Kyra made it up to the matches before the semi-finals in the winners' bracket.

I haven't really faced any other students like Hector so I easily made it through to the matches before the semi-finals as well.

The next two people that me and Kyra might fight seem to be twins. One of them wields a sword and the other a sabre. They use little to no magic when fighting in the duels but I can see that they have magic wands on them.

"Lady Kyra, do you know who our next opponents are? They look like twins…" I looked towards Kyra.

"I do not know them personally but I do know of them. They are both sons of the Marquis that protects the Astus Territory. They are Caleb and Callum Bright. Although they look almost exactly the same, they are complete opposites when it comes to their personality. Caleb is your typical noble knight. He has manners and is well-read. Callum, on the other hand, is unruly and wild. He loves fighting people stronger than him and usually lives for the thrill." Kyra gave me a quick description of the two of them.

"Um, yeah… Which one is Caleb and which is Callum?" I asked, scratching my head.

"The best way to know is to look at their weapons, Caleb uses the sword and Callum uses the saber. Oh also, Caleb has talents in wind, earth, water and light. Callum has talents in wind, earth, fire and dark." Kyra replied.

"Thank you, Lady Kyra." I smiled.

"Number 1 and 12, come onto the stage!" The teacher's voice sounded out.

I headed towards the stage once again and looked towards my enemy. I knew it was Callum because he was holding his saber and breathing heavily, it looks like he's dying for the battle to start.

"John Colton. I saw your battle with Hector and couldn't wait to fight with you, hehehehehe.." Callum laughed creepily as he caressed the blade of his saber.

"It would be my pleasure to fight with you, Lord Callum." I forced a smile as I replied.

"Begin!" The teacher shouted.

"Blind!" Callum shouted as he directed his wand towards me.

My vision darkens and I could only see up to 5 feet ahead of me.

'I should use this chance to strengthen my sword skills.' I steadied my breath and readied the wooden sword. I focused on my surroundings and listened to any movement that Callum might make.

I heard him dash straight towards me and within one second he was already with my range of vision.

'What incredible speed.' I thought as I raised my sword to parry his saber.

My hands trembled from the heavy strike.

'Incredible power, he's almost as strong as me when it comes to just brute strength.'

He pulled back and went out of my range of vision again.

"Blind!" Callum recast his spell.

'So this is how he wants to play.' I thought as I smiled.

I rushed towards where I heard him shout with all of my speed and quickly reached him.

I raised my sword and slashed heavily down onto him. He blocked it easily. I can see the smile on his face as he was blocking my attack.

"HAHAHAHAHA! What amazing strength for someone your age! If I was any weaker, my saber would've flown out of my hands!" Callum laughed maniacally as he shoved my sword with his saber.

"I like you, John Colton! Because of that, I won't use petty things like magic to fight with you! Let's fight like real men! No magic, just brute strength!" Callum bellowed.

I jumped back. "If that is what Lord Callum wishes." I replied.

Callum stood there until the effects of the Blind spell wore off. Immediately as he saw the spell was gone, he dashed towards me again.

Our weapons clashed, sparks flying everywhere. He had a very unconventional way of fighting. Instead of being more refined with techniques, he was fighting like an animal. All of his moves were purely made from instinct.

'Maybe I can let loose a bit.' I thought as I saw him enjoying our battle to its utmost.

I slashed at him, going faster and faster, giving it all I've got. Every attack I make, he would either dodge, block or counterattack.

I tried to stab towards his abdomen and he blocked it with his saber, pushing my sword to the side. He saw that as his moment to attack and slashed towards my body.

I quickly reacted, jumping and twisting my body, just barely evading the strike that could've slashed my body in half. As I was in the air, my body twisting, I raised my leg and kicked at him.

It landed squarely on his face, sending him flying a few feet to the side.

"HAHAHAHA! GOOD HIT!" He laughed as he massaged his jaw.

He threw his saber down the ground and raised his fists.

"LET'S FIGHT LIKE REAL MEN!" He shouted towards me.

I smiled and placed my sword on the ground, raising my fists to show my agreement.

We dashed towards one another and began punching at each other.

No one blocked. We took each other's hits and counterattacked. I punched him in the face, he punched me back.

[Thrill of the Fight] skill learned.

[Thrill of the Fight]

You begin to enjoy battle more and more. When fighting against an enemy for an extended period of time, you gain +1 to all stats per minute. Maximum of +10 to all stats.

"HAHAHAHAHA!" We both were laughing as we pummelled each other, drops of blood flying everywhere.

We kept on punching and punching that the battle went on for another five minutes.

I realized it was over when his last punch landed on me. There was no power left behind them. It felt like I just got poked playfully by his fist. I focused on his face and realized that his eyes were dim. He was already unconscious.

I stopped my barrage of attacks and quickly went over to support his body before it fell.

He was still punching at the air as I was supporting him. I looked towards the teacher and shook my head. The battle was over, I won.

"Number 1 wins!" The teacher acknowledged and shouted.

Sounds of cheering and clapping burst from the audience, as if they approved of our childish brawl.

"That was a bit crude but a great fight nonetheless! I respect it!" Someone shouted from the audience.

I carried Callum over to his brother Caleb.

"Lord Caleb, I am sorry for what I did to your brother." I looked towards him.

"It's perfectly fine." He looked towards my face and Callum's. "It seems like you gave him quite an enjoyable fight. For that, I thank you." He said with a smile.

I followed his eyes as he looked towards Callum who was now fully unconscious. He was smiling. His face was swollen and battered what he was smiling, nonetheless.

'This guy is crazy… I guess that makes me a little bit crazy too.' I thought to myself as I handed Callum over to the medics stationed in the training grounds.

"A little bit more and I would've been the one that was knocked out." I whispered to myself as I walked back towards my seat.
